But seriously, F Smash does have a bit of startup, which is why I only try to use it if the spacing is correct.

Considering Elma was the only real viable option at the time, I guess she just wasn’t high enough in terms of priority.

Timing mostly, if XBC2 was released way earlier (something kinda unviable unless it wass a WiiU title) and Ultimate started development later there's a possibility we would had Rex. Pretty much timing is the biggest crippling factor for most potential newcomers.

That feel when you come out right after the current gen Smash, but so early in the cycle that by the time the next game wheels around the hype is gone and there's no justification.

I'm sure there are others, but the ones that come to mind are Isaac, a Gen III Pokémon and a Gen V Pokémon.

Maybe Wonder Red as well.

Holmes as a character and most of the first stories like a Study in Scarlet are public domain, but the last 10 stories are still copyrighted, could be that.

Holmes is public domain. Some of his stories are not. Some of the Sherlock Holmes stories referenced in DGS don't become public domain until 2022.

because they've been trying to spin the san francisco setting for so long in the localisation that suddenly having to explain why phoenix's ancestor is from japan is probably more trouble than it's worth

Ironically, I was also planning to have a Tora+Poppi profile pic at some point, but the only ones I kinda liked were the ones w/ her QTπ form.

But I didn’t know if it technically counted as a spoiler so I opted against it at the time.
