In general, though, ports fill gaps in the schedule, not add to crowded months. I can see one or both Zeldas being released, say, next February or something after the Christmas rush is gone, but I see no reason for them to come out soon when Nintendo has so much lined up for 2019.

Speaking of filling gaps, I'm maintaining that Nintendo's saving a port for 3D World for such a gap: it's one of the few bigger games still without a port/not rendered redundant by a sequel. I doubt it'd come out this year, cos the release timetable seems pretty solid and we already have the NSMB port and Mario Maker for this year - perhaps they'd want to spread out the Mario platformers a bit more. But it'll come. Eventually.

Another factor being that Nintendo evidently doesn't like doing ports unless they have something to add--and they already added stuff to WWHD and TPHD, so what else could they do?

The reasoning is sound, but "Zelda on the go" coupled with being able to have 3/6 of the mainline 3D Zelda titles on one modern console seems more than enough.

I mostly want to justify my decision to purchase the Wolf Link amiibo, yet sell the game once the Wii U immediately became obsolete

Hmm, isn't she considered a replica of Sora instead? (or both Roxas & Sora?) After all, she was made to become a copy of Sora, and she was recruited by the new organization XIII, who was all made out of Xehanort, tho, maybe I'm missing some important details here and there. So feel free to correct me.
