I wanna hate kanye due to all of his kanye stuff, but like, he's just so ****ing good. Most people don't like Yeezus, but how many artists would KILL to have a Yeezus? I mean I grew up with Kanye, and on top of that, when he used his platform as a brand new celebrity to call out George Bush on how he was treating Katrina, it spoke to a lot of the people here in Louisiana. So I have a bias, but honestly, every artist can benefit off of getting Kanye tutelage. Travis Scott, Kid Cudi, 2Chainz, Pharell, Jay Z, Drake, etc. are all relevant because of him, or at least owe a lot to him for their current status

My taste in music can traditionally be traced back to inspirations like David Bowie, Rolling Stones, Creedence Clearwater Revival, AC/DC, Tears for Fears, etc. So new music, especially rap, is just constantly disappointing to me. I like very few rappers. 21 Savage, Kendrick Lamar, and maybe Post Malone are all I really care about. At all.

Even then their lyrics mean absolutely nothing to me. It's very much about them and THEIR experiences and that's fine but there's a lot of music that I can actually relate with but Drake, Cardi B, Kanye, Nicki Minaj, etc. Mean absolutely nothing to me. They're lyrics do nothing for me. There's just a disconnect between the beat of a song, the lyrics being sang, and the experiences shared by the artist and the listener.

Shame really. The music is good but I can't give a **** about it.

I see what you mean, and as a HUGE hip-hop head, I can recommend you a lot of artists who go down interesting sonic and lyrical paths with their music.

If you like deep, paranoid lyrics about drug usage with unnerving beats to accompany it, try Danny Brown's Atrocity Exhibition or Ab-Soul's Control system

If you haven't yet, give Kanye's 2010 opus a listen. It's shifted a lot of opinions on kanye and is hailed as a modern classic.

Very surprised you like 21 savage though. I've only very recently grown on him.
