Just the concept never appealed to me. Something about a sponge that works at what I presume is a Burger place seems waaaayyyy to fictional for my liking.

Seriously, why would Hasbro cut MLP? I am not a MLP fan, but there is no reason to cut a super popular show with a big fanbase over a small show only meant to promote toys that are not even that popular.

It's got 9 seasons. The only other cartoon I know of that has gone on for nearly a decade without that has managed to maintain good quality instead of falling victim to an onslaught of terrible writing for season after season is Adventure Time.

All good things have to come to an end at some point.

I don't particularly care about the joke or Arigarmy's intentions. If Noipoi was upset by the joke regardless of what it was and Arigarmy recognized that and apologized, there's nothing to talk about.

I originally responded specifically to you implying that it wasn't a big deal when it seemed, to me, that it in fact was a big deal to the receiver of the joke.


And my response made it clear that jokes about a person's family in general should probably be considered off-limits by anyone here. Not specifically Arigarmy, but in general. It's just asking for someone to take it personally.



So you can throw the word "gossip" around but that's not what I'm doing. I've also attempted to stop talking about it for two posts now, but you keep replying to elongate the conversation. So.

I never said you were gossiping, just that others were beforehand. My point is that if it wasn’t Noipoi, who the thread loves to coddle up to, then it wouldn’t be such a circlejerk like it is now. A lot of people didn’t even look at the posts and just assume yeah, bad man bad because I was told so.

Multiple possible reasons, though I'm speaking hypothetically. I don't know anything about the situation or the show.

1) The toys you think aren't popular actually are popular and outselling pony stuff.
2) MLP has become too popular for its own good and the actors/writers/etc. are too expensive to keep on for a children's show.
3) The target audience shifting from little girls to full-grown adults has significantly hurt their ability to court advertisers since commercials for little girls' products would be lost on the people actually watching it, so a different show without bronies eating up the ratings would actually benefit Hasbro, a toy-making company.

There's a whole host of possible reasons for cancellation.
