Those drawings are glorious by the way, and well drawn! The visuals add to this sim in the best way possible.

For these guys in Mario Kart I imagine them having these karts:
Speed Star with Tornado Glider
Rush Bike with Beat Glider
Rally-X Kart with Galaga Glider

I’m trying to think of what their tracks could potentially be.

Sonic could have Eggmanland or Green Hill, Megaman might come with Willy’s Castle and Pac-Man may have a track based on the World trilogy or the classic maze.

I'm gonna say DS Lite for me is my baby. So many great DS games that aren't replicated on the 3DS with the ENTIRE backlog of GBA games on the bottom. In fact, you could have both a DS and a GBA cartridge in at the SAME TIME.

In fact, in Megaman Starforce, if you had a Megaman BN GBA cartridge in the bottom, Megaman.EXE would crossover to Starforce and give you a sick-ass gun that shot like a million bullets per second.

Yeah, that was my thought process.

Like...

• It's basically indestructible.
• 32GB worth of digital games is a lot of games to carry around in my pocket, surprisingly.
• The entire DS library is backwards compatible.
• Smash, MK, two of the best Fire Emblems, the best Metroid game in a decade, one of the best Donkey Kongs, one of the best Marios, multiple Mario RPGs, the fantastic Zelda/Luigi's Mansion/Star Fox ports, the best Animal Crossing, Tomodachi Life, two Nintendo-themed Warriors games, a treasure trove of RPGs, lots of good virtual console games, a fantastic Resident Evil game AND The Mercenaries specifically for me, a surprisingly good RPG Maker, a damn good Street Fighter port along with Tekken & Blazblue on the go, all the Ace Attorney and Layton games, one of the best Dragonball games I've ever played, and three generations of Pokemon.

I think between the two enormous libraries (3DS/DS), the 3D effect that I actually quite like and the quality of the hardware, the New 3DS XL is genuinely my favorite console. It pains me to know that Nintendo's finally cutting off support because I'd love even more games to play on it.

I don't take my Switch on the go. My 3DS is too perfect (and far less likely to break).

The 3DS is extremely good. I could easily see myself getting at least another 3 or so years worth of use out of it with the backlog I still have on it. Only gripe I have with the system is the performance of certain games (mostly the frame drops in Pokemon or some of the ports like Luigi's Mansion), but it was never bad enough to ruin my experience.

I have mixed feelings about the 3DS ending. On the one hand, I'm kind of glad, because I love my Switch and would have prefered to have BiSDX and LM1 on it instead, but I also do feel a bit sad that it's the end of an era. For as much grief as people have been giving the thing lately, it is a great system. I honestly don't know why some people have developed this weird hatred towards it when I thought everyone loved it not two years ago.

I use mine all the time. I don't get why people act like that's weird.

I take the train to and from work four days a week. I carry my 3DS or a book for the ride every time.

"Omg the 3DS is still a thing?? Only kids play those!" - Every teen and lonely adult trying to sound cool within the internet gaming community.


I understand that 3DS support needs to end for the Switch to thrive. I just don't want it to because the Switch isn't portable to me. It's too fragile with its screen out in the open, and it's too bulky if you carry it around in a protective case. So it sits in my dock, like a home console. My 3DS goes in my bag with me everywhere I go because it's designed to be indestructible. I can toss my bag around or put **** in it without thinking, "wait, is that gonna damage my expensive gaming hardware?"

I'm on my third 3DS and none of my upgrades were due to hardware failure. That's eight years going strong.

Honestly nothing about her reveal suggested to me that she wasn't the MC. The only reason we're confused is because Atlus apparently wants us to be.

Oh dang, I forgot about Wario Ware Gold! That is such a good Wario Ware, IMO. It really did come out way too late; I feel like that game would have been a much bigger deal if it was in the early days of the system instead.

• feMC using arsene and a dagger in smash makes very little sense unless sakurai was taking some wild liberties with implementing her - and if she isn't a member of the phantom thieves (i.e. Joker is out and about), arsene would already be in joker's possession, not hers
• they've conveninently picked a soundbite from a moment in the game where the phantom thieves are allowed to publicly (albeit stealthily) comment on themselves - as i said earlier, it could easily just be the difference in protagonist characterisation (male is cocky and believes in the phantom thieves' righteousness, female is uncertain and wishes society didn't need or rely on them to fix their ****)
• her being a first year changes very very little--you miss out on kawakami, and you don't go to hawaii (but P3P's female route also swapped certain trips for others, even adding in a persona 4 reference in one's place)
• we're not actually meant to know she's a joker skin in smash yet - Atlus is playing up the mystery of her identity like we're going in blind

To the people who own a 3DS like me and loves RPGs: pick the Dragon Quest 8 port for the system even if you prefer to get a second hand copy of it.

As someone who had the original PS2 version as a huge part of my gaming childhood, I felt like the 3DS port does a lot of justice to the masterpiece it is.

If the New 3DS XL didn't exist, DS Lite would be my favorite portable. It was so well-designed.

But the larger XL is better for my adult hands and adult eyes, yet it still doesn't feel bulky. And frankly I'd rather take the entire 3DS/DS libraries than the entire DS/GBA libraries.

Another crazy conspiracy theory I heard about the girl in the P5R trailer: Because her mouth isn't moving at any point during the trailer, she's not actually the one talking.

I've honestly let some of that negativity sway me too much. Trying not to anymore and just letting myself enjoy the 3DS and games that have been coming to it, ha ha.

The 3DS is a tank: Only hardware problem I ever had was on my OG 3DS with the L button breaking. Every 3DS I've had since were only just me getting upgrades, as my original XL (I have the special Pokemon X&Y blue one) still works great, and the only thing wrong with my current one is aesthetics (the paint on my New 3DS XL is chipping off).

Only thing I dislike about the 3DS hardware is the weird slide pad and the weird C-stick. I unfortunately have overactive sweat glands, so holding the circle-pad forward can be really hard sometimes and using the C-stick is next to impossible.

it's fairly likely that this new snippet of dialogue isn't actually voiced, and it's just a dramatisation (for lack of a better term) of the actual choice-based unvoiced exchange ingame

Favourite console? Gotta be the PS2 for me. It was the era were nobody was really sure what sold well yet so big companies could experiment with out there titles, resulting in what has to be one of the best console libraries out there. The Dreamcast up there too.

yeah that too, though it's more an all-encompassing part of the argument; P3P changed everything from the protagonist's dialogue options to social links to scenarios, which is more or less exactly what we might be seeing here

SNES - Perfected stuff from the NES era, new entries to the Megaman series like X, Super Mario World and All Stars, ALttP, SCV IV, Chrono Trigger are among my favorite games
3DS - NDS and 3DS libraries combined in one handheld
PS2 - Too many good titles
GBA - Great titles and also the possibility of playing GB titles
PSP - Great titles overall and a fun alternative to NDS

Favorite console's a toss-up between PS2, Gamecube and DS. Two of which can play GBA games, and the PS2 has too many GOATs on it not to include.

SNES is strong as hell, but most SNES games I've played were ports, so it feels like I'm cheating a bit if I were to include it. PS4 has some good games on it like Strider, Spider-Man, DBFZ and Tekken 7, so I guess that's another honorable mention.

Nintendo Wii: First Ever game console I owned. Lot's of memories. Even if I mostly played kind of sub-par licensed games back then

Honorable Mention: PS4. Sorry bud, but the only game I bought for you that I 100% adore is the N. Sane Trilogy, and that's on Switch now. OG Spyro turned out not to be my cup of tea, SFV, FEXL and KOF14 all were kind of just okay, and I still havn't gotten around to buying many of your exclusives that interest me like God of War and Uncharted
