What do you find appealing about Geno?
I need to understand the motives behind Geno fans, and also people who are insane enough to think that Hanenbow is a bad stage.
There's a lot of factors of why people like Geno and the reasons differ from person to person.
Here's just a few reasons why people find him Appealing
1) The Character is sort of a lost Nintendo Character one which is almost lost to time if it wasn't for fans of the Character and he's forbidden in a way with how complicated the rights are with him so people find him mysterious and interesting in that sort of way, it's a flawed mindset and this reason could always change but some people view him as such.
2) They're fans of the game cause it's a great game with a lot of unique flair that sets itself apart from the Paper Mario/M&L franchises. The Music is phenomenal, The Characters are Unique, The Story and Locals aren't something we've seen from the Mario Series upto that point and in some regards to this day, The Game was made by Square and it has that magic SNES Square flair the other RPG's don't.
They're fans of the game and think that the characters should return and what better way to do that then add them to Smash since Sakurai himself is a fan?
3) Geno's a cool character and we haven't seen anything like him since. He's a Star Spirit Possessing a Warrior Doll with Laser Beams and Weapons, That's pretty cool! He's also so Serious while being such a dork and he's so lovable. He's just cool man! His Design is cool, His Story is Cool, His Personality is Cool and overall he's a fun Character that the Mario Series hasn't seen since!
4) Sometimes the Fanbase of Characters just make you root for the Character and I know some people have thought that way for the Geno Fanbase. I for example originally only wanted Isaac cause I respected the Isaac fanbase but after playing the game I really want Isaac now, Sometimes a good Fanbase is enough for people to root for other's happiness.
And Many Many more reasons I haven't gotten into.
For me though? It's a mix of 2, 3 and 4. Here's a good video to watch if you want to know more:
