My dad thinks I’m homosexual because I said I’m sick of him trying to get me to socialise with all the daughters of his friends I’ve never met.
I’m just finding it all hilarious, if a bit sad.

To put it bluntly, he’s not the best father in the world. I won’t elaborate in a public thread like this, but it’s not very nice simultaneously despising and loving the guy. He’s a genuinely loving father, but in an effort to please his current girlfriend, he’s going with her idea and financially crippling us. I’m certain he has a mental problem of some sort.

They didn't really take it badly (aside from suddenly giving me birds and bees talk when they never did before) but I think they didn't find me convincing. It happened when I was 16 and still don't have much idea about how attraction worked, so I guess I couldn't answer all of their questions.

I feel like they could be more encouraging but whatever. They probably figured out by now, we just don't talk about it.

Being grateful is a good thing, but don't belittle your problems like that. You can have it better than a lot of people and still have a big issues.

They guilt trip me into going to my moms so i say **** you to that. Well mostly my mom guilt trips me, my dad is fine. My moms a hoe

but whenever they ask any personal question, my answer is always " Why donyou want to know?" and that shuts them up

really what's the problem of some people?

He had a really sexist father (he impregnated my dad’s mother at the age of 41, when she was 19 if that gives you and idea), and had some issues with his mother, too.
He’s just grown up to be someone who was taught to live but the male-dominated rules of the pre-80s(?) or so, and sort of fits the ‘be a real man, Son’ stereotype.

On another note, I found out that my ‘grandfather’ probably isn’t even my real grandfather, and is instead is a man who I met briefly when I was about 6. It was never confirme, but hey. That doesn’t bother me.

She said you can make a phone case with hot glue and me and my sister insisted that its dangerous. We looked up the video she was talking about. Lo and behold, the dude said "Do this at your own risk"

I know how that feels, back when I was 15, I came out as bi to my mom but she didn't believe it either. I think she now believes I'm straight but I dunno, we don't talk about this and I never mentioned this to my dad ever since, though I do think their understanding of it would be better nowadays.

Thanks heaps! Things could be way worse though, so I’m just grateful for how it is. My mother’s health is improving, so hopefully she’ll be able to get a stay-at-home job soon. Matters are genuinely looking better.
