Yeah pretty much this. It seems the complaints coming from Isabelle and Incineroar is just "BuT wHaT aBoUt GeNo?!" and such. Frankly I'm very happy with those two, and I'm glad they were put in the game. I think Sakurai made the right choice adding them in.

Point is, the overall design seems to be meant for a female in a traditional sense then applied to a male afterward, in a similar but opposite way that Robin's was.

I don't know what harem anime I'm watching with either, but something something "she's your sister" vs "she's actually thousands of years old"

But really, any reason outside of actual gameplay. By Smash 4, the last thing I could care about was more swords (even if the rest of Corrin's kit is actually neat, it wasn't my style and not what I was looking forward to paying for since they also were the only original DLC character to not come with their own stage).

I didn't play XB2 myself but I watched enough playthroughs that I could see how it would make for an interesting moveset. I'm holding hope costumes/spirit don't end up actually disconfirming anything, though it wouldn't be the end of the world if they did.
