I mean, Metroid Prime isn't a First Person Shooter and Samus was in Smash before Prime was even a concept so I wouldn't say that really counts.

Dark Samus maybe. But Prime still ain't no First Person shooter.
It's in first person and you fire a gun, so checkmate atheists.

Doom 1, 2 and 3 are 1st Person Adventures according to NonSpecificGuy's logic, because they are mostly based on the campaign or story mode they have.

So far, I’ve read Brawl in the Family up to no. 106. No longer am I an uncultured swine.
Or am I. .?

Doom is also a 1st person adventure just for the campaign alone.

And I repeat: Prime 2 has a multiplayer mode similar to Doom's online, and Hunters was mostly a multiplayer game with a small campaign included.

Doom is a linear mission based game with collectibles throughout. Not a sprawling labrynthian world like Prime.

Prime Hunter's and 2's Multiplayer components are a feature and not really comparable to the main game. Kingdom Hearts 3 has driving and piloting so that must mean it's a racing game right?

I repeat: Hunters was marketed as the DS's main 1st person shooter.

I mean... Prime is a primarily 1st person perspective game. Where you shoot stuff. I think the genre definition is pretty obvious. The adventure aspect is half of the identity, the way you control Samus is the other.

It doesn't have to have a certain kind of theme or feel to be within a specific genre, because the differences between Doom and Metroid Prime are obvious.

Marketing doesn't always speak the full truth, though. How it is formally classified?
It is considered both as a 1st Person Adventure game and a 1st Person Shooter.

Exactly.
Not every game is restricted to a single genre.

Even if that were true, which it was only ever marketed as "Metroid Prime on the go with multiplayer", it wouldn't really make a difference since Hunters is technically a spinoff.

The closest Prime has ever come to full Shooter territory was Federation Force and, uh, yeah.

There´s also Prime 2´s multiplayer, and Prime 4 is likely to have an online mode like Doom 2016 too.

This was already answered:

First Person Action-Adventure. That's the LITERAL genre of all the Prime games besides Federation Force.
It is considered both as a 1st Person Adventure game and a 1st Person Shooter.

I mean you could say it's both and it be acceptable but lumping into the same genre as Call of Duty and Battlefield is kind of ignorant of the games actual gameplay.

Saying Meteoid Prime is just a first person shooter is like saying Fire Emblem is just an RPG which is ignoring the entirety of its actual gameplay.

I never said that.
If this thread got my intentions wrong, I will clarify that I consider Metroid Prime both a 1st Person Adventure and a 1st Person Shooter.

I also consider Doom the same way just for the campaign.

No, Doom 1 and 2 are very much still first person, mission based, shooters. Like I've been saying this whole time. Doom 3 is a survival horror game which is just entirely different. But sure Doom 3 is WAY closer to Prime than Doom 1, 2, or 2016.

Why wouldn't you just specify this to me instead of trying counter my points of the Prime series being a first person adventure then? That seems counterproductive by all accounts.

I think you might be having a hard time visualizing what an FPA is. Just because a linear game has collectibles doesn't mean it's an adventure game.

For instance New Super Mario Bros. Has Star Coins but I wouldn't lump it in the same category as Super Metroid.
