That’s one of the reasons I wish we can at least customize Byleth’s outfit, Female Byleth is super immersion breaking imo.

In all seriousness, I enjoyed Daemon X Machina, but I definitely agree on the out of area mechanics. Really reduced the flow of the game, I'd much prefer just an invisible wall, though this wouldn't be a problem in the first place if the 4th mission boss, where I feel these issues were most prevalent, didn't constantly stick to the edge of the area. I feel like the out of mech mechanics are fine, though I wish there was a way to get back in the mech, unless I'm missing something. I also generally just don't really like limited ammo in a game like this. I'd rather just focus on combat and maneuvering instead of resource management.

That direct really got me thinking, when the Switch is done it really might have the biggest catalogue for Nintendo franchises period looking back. Like for real:

Mario: Odyssey, Maker 2, NSMBU Deluxe, plus spinoffs and subsidiaries like Tennis Aces, Kart 8D, Party, and Mansion 3
Zelda: BotW, Link’s Awakening, Hyrule Warriors
Pokemon: Let’s Go, Gen 8
Kirby: Star Allies, whatever the hell the team is cookin up rn
Metroid: Prime 4, probably Prime Trilogy
Animal Crossing: well, animal crossing
Smash: Ultimate
Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze
Pikmin: Pikmin 3 probably, Pikmin 4 hopefully
Fire Emblem: Three Houses, FE Warriors
Xenoblade: Xenoblade 2
Splatoon: Splatoon 2
Yoshi: Crafted World

And probably more in the making, plus new IPs and third parties.
RIP Star Fox tho. Killed by Zero, doomed to be a Starlink add-on for the rest of the Switch’s time.

The worst part is that there are theories about her being censored last minute because the shirt covering her front is a lazy texture compared to every other part of the outfit which is uniquly modeled and textured.

I honestly prefer the male avatar in Three Houses this time. He looks super dope, I honestly wouldn't mind if he made it in the Fighter's Pass now.

They are but there's a bunch of repeats and brunette battlesuit Jill isn't actually a thing. Just a popular mod because a lot of people don't like the fact that Capcom made her blonde.

It's a better joke than responding with "Git Gud", so we good there. lol

Tbh, the worst part of the out of area mechanics is that you can not only still get hit, but you also can get sent flying. Which then can get you even further out of area and stunlock you 'till mech destruction.

And, well, controlling the human is... ok. But they're so dang useless compared to the mech, they're incredibly slow on foot, and enemies don't priority target you anymore. With the lack of a retry button on the menu, I felt my only choice was to try to kill myself to get back to controlling the infinitely more fun mech. And that takes ages because of the aforementioned on foot speed and lack of priority targeting.

This could all be mitigated if I knew what I was supposed to be doing aside from playing the less fun version of the game, but I don't recall the game ever telling me about what exactly the point of that part of the gameplay is.

I mean they put effort into making the design look awful, maybe it’s just the poor pre-release + streaming graphics but while there’s supposed to be a design the leggings just look like Female Byleth dragged them through a bunch of spiny bushes.

ok my opinion has changed i now thing that male byleth is slightly more yes and female byleth is meh

I was on the male Byleth train from the start, and female Byleth's design didn't help. And it's only her? Like no other female character has stupid cuts on their outfits, even the teacher looks good.

Anyway, Byleth for Smash, I want to make teacher jokes.

I’m starting to think the armor midriff and short shorts are worse than Female Corrin’s thigh windows and Fates’ female armor design overall, why on earth would you wear armor yet expose your stomach which holds a large amount of essential organs.

The only other bad design is Dorothea’s hat which looks photoshopped and too modern, but it and Dorothea are cute so i’ll let it slide.
