Fire Emblem has never really included the custom character in animated cutscenes tho, that's why Chrom was still the main character in Awakening.
Three Houses looks like it's more cgi cutscenes, meaning custom characters in cutscenes is entirely possible

The first half of your post is what I’m saying, custom characters won’t fit in prerendered animated cutscenes yet we see Byleth and their face in multiple animated cutscenes. Cgi cutscenes are still prerendered, it’s the same animators Studio Khara from SoV. It’s not like cutscenes in Xenoblade that are in the engine and can change based on your outfits, it’s all premade.

Yeah I Just rewatched the trailer and you're right.
Which is weird, since we could always customize the avatar before... I'm going to assume those cutscenes are only the start of the game and you can do your hair in your Chambers or something

By the way:

Dimitri: Pasta head but his face in the cutscenes looks like he has a cool personality.
Claude: A pretty chill bro.
Edelguard: Top tier girl, has to compete with Petra, Dorothea, and orange eyeliner instructor lady though.

Byleth:
Male: Mullets for days.
Female: It’s the renaissaince not a night club.

Played Daemon X Machina, didn't really enjoy it. Frustrating implementation of out-of-zone and mech-destruction mechanics. If that isn't changed in the main game, I'm pretty likely to skip on this one.

Played Yoshi's Crafted World, and it seems ok. Not a fan that you can't spit enemies out again anymore, and egg throwing is kinda slow compared to before, but the level design is p okay and the graphics are cute. Perhaps a later buy for me.

Tetris 99 is fun for a while, but it won't fix a broken online. A singular Tetris BR mode is just kinda an obvious attempt at breadcrumbing people to buy the bigger subscription packages.

That's what I got from the demos from the Direct. That said, despite the... obvious setbacks here, I still think the direct was pretty good,

Speaking of upcoming Switch titles, I'm surprised that Atlus has been silent about SMT V for as long as they have been.

Low key I thought Astral Chain was SMT V when I saw demon looking things “digitize” but then I saw Platinum combat.
