That reminds me... Assuming they're basically just like Starter Pokemon, and we know that Sakurai is fine with choosing a single starter to represent a generation , It really isn't too out of the question if he decides to choose one of them, over Byleth

Yeah, Niles was one of the best characters, Both in gameplay and in story. Too bad u can't marry him to any other male units. He seems to have an eye for some of them

I once did a female character run in Fates Just for fun and ended up building way too much synergy with Shura. Turns out he's a really nice Guy. People really sleep on him.

This would honestly be the best option for Target Test. The devs can just make a few sample stages that are kinda like how Brawl had every character able to play on every stage. But to satisfy the want for every character have their own. Add a Mario Maker-like function for people to make their own Target Tests and send it to others/post on a public page you can access from the game.

Right now it just looks like Male/Female, they showed off Byleth a lot in animated cutscenes with his default looks and when an avatar is customizable like Robin or Corrin the point of view for the cutscenes is first-person/not showing the avatar.
