I've been playing brawl and I just want to say a few things.
1. It's good, and I can see it being competitive (with a LOT of stages banned).
2. Kirby is a mother****ing BEAST! He WoP's like jiggs and his f-b in the air cancels vertical movement and cancels on the ground. In other words you can short hop hammer with no lag and crazy good knockback.
3. Luigi is really good too. He's basically the same only he can recover well now (along with everyone).

Maybe it was a mistake to mention it.... I don't have brawl, but someone else does and I don't think they'd be too keen on tons of people coming to play it but I'll ask. In the meantime, more character evaluations.
1. Pit is as good as possible. Him and meta knight have great disjointed hitboxes and maneuverability. Metaknight might be better because some of his moves have ridiculous priority like his neutral b.
2. Ike has crazy power. He kills at about 30% while everyone else kills at 150% no exaggeration. He's REALLY slow though so it balences.
3. Olimar is pretty amazing. He pulls pikmin really fast and can throw them for damage over time. His smash attacks also involve throwing his pikmin so they have really good range and can do great knockback. His up-b is sort of a problem though. It's just a hook shot, so if there's no ledge, he has no up-b. But it's an amazing attack on the ground. He basically turns his pikmin into a whip then hits at a 45 degree angle in front.
4 ZSS is pickable from the start. You just have to hold R as you go from character select screen to stage select screen.

u could steal it, but u need a modded wii to play

Oh man, it would be amazing if you could somehow requisition that for Saturday, but I won't get my hopes up.

i meant modding as in, unlocking the wii
the wii is region locked, meaning it can only play games in the US, If you unlock the wii with a program, you can play games from other countries meaning japan
PAL, i think, still doesn't work if u unlock your wii, you need to do something that let's it read PAL discs... i'm not an expert so don't quote me on this

Ah... It exists. A Smash community that holds smashfests within an hour of my home. Great to know.
I was certain the U of I would have one, but I wanted to make sure. xP Yeah, I live an hour southeast of Champaign. I plan on going to Illinois after High School. And by then I'll be halfway decent at Brawl. (Hopefully.)

Oh, and brawl is weird. I really can't see it being competitive unless people figure out some actual combos with characters. No edgeguarding is weird and so far all the characters are getting kinda stale.
But Henrik, good news for you, fox has an almost infinite shine against a wall. The shine only lasts a short amount of time so if you just hold down and spam b, you'll rack up damage until about 140% which is enough to kill most people with an upsmash. After 140% they'll bounce off the wall and it's over.

So I got a lil brawl action on..
and although I'm not going to be playing it much, I can see it being competitive... unlike what people were saying not all moves auto l cancel, and combos are definitely possible...
im kinda disappointed in marth though... he plays almost the freakin same... when they changed samus from ssb to ssbm i was pissed but marth has all the same combos as far as I saw..
but i only played for like 20 mins so i didnt really get too good of a look at anything
oh and yeah luigi can actually recover now!

and it's pretty fun
wolf, pit, and metaknight are def OP
samus sucks
Zss has nice combos (dash grab, dthrow, uair+uair+uair+uair+fair/bair) but can't kill for ****, gotta work on gimping and getting used to using tilts only
most char don't really have combos from what i see, other than 2 hit or 3 hit comboes
btw, GAME&WATCH = TOOOOO GOOOD, lol, his items are bigger and he's pretty good

btw, i love ike, so many mindgames, and his up-b has a ton of priority, but.... he's toooo fking slow... so mind games are nice, if you get caught in the full up-b of ike, you get around 30% or more dmg
partial is about 10-20%, he has a nice way to get back onto the stage with the up b after grabbing the edge, just kinda hard cuz if you do it wrong, u'll die
sadly, i like melee better cuz it's faster paced
and it's pretty fun

I'll do what I can to get a setup on Saturday, but I wouldn't count on it. It would involve getting someone else to come who hasn't before.
