- General Rules -
Items Off - 4 Stocks - 8:00 Minutes - 2 of 3 Sets - 3 of 5 Finals - Extended Sets Apply
- Random stages -

- Stage/Character selection -
You may ask for a double blind pick first round. First round stage is random. If you do not wish the play the randomed stage, you may null it once and only once. If nulled, a random stage will be chosen again. The winner of the previous round will choose one stage to ban. Loser chooses one stage to ban.You MAY NOT ban NEUTRAL stages. Loser will then announce stage. Winner will choose character. Loser will choose character. No stage played twice in the same set. Stages may be reused in extended sets upon meeting in loser's bracket.
- Pools -
For singles there will be 16 pools, likely with anywhere from 6-10 people (96-160 Entrants.) Either top 3 or 4 will advance. 3 will advance unless entrants break 128, then 4 will move on to brackets. Pools will be determined first by Number of set won then Number of matches won and then by Who won the head to head. There will be NO tie breaker matches played.
- Brackets -
Bracketed matches will be played in a double elimination format. Each match will be best 2 out of 3. Winner's finals will be best 3 out of 5. If the Grand finals occurs with players who have NOT played each other, the player in the winner's bracket must win 1 set, while the player coming from the loser's bracket must win 2.
- Facing the same opponent -
If you happen to face the same opponent twice, the match will be best of 4 out of 7. Wins from the previous set will carry over, meaning the winner will start with 2 wins and the loser with 1 or 0. In the event players meet in two finals matches, it will result in a best 6 of 11 set. A regular match combined with a finals match results in best 5 of 9
- Stalling -
Any tactic used to indefinitely stall a match or disable it to be finished: IC Freeze Glitch, Jiggs Rising Pound stalls, Peach wallbomber stall. These tactics may be used for recovery purpose (minus the IC freeze glitch, unless your very creative...) but may not be used in excess and will result in forfeit of the match.
- The Wobbles Compromise -
The use of the IC Infinite otherwise known as "Wobbles" is banned only at the request of the opponent. If the opponent fails declare the technique as banned before the match begins, the IC player may use it for the remainder of the set.

JFlo, I don't know 'em all but there's gonna be at the least: Guitar Hero III, DotA, Halo 3, DDR, and Starcraft.
They're all free to participate in, but they'll be running simultaneously to smash.

EDIT - I spoke to the tournament head and he said that we have the venue secured for 2 days. If we choose to use both days a pool system is likely.

Wow, a two day event. The sexy thing about this is that it's here in SD. You can't deny the easy accessibility for SD natives, **** yes. You know I'm down for this, SD home turf.

And I'm still on Winter Break during the 12th and 13th. Can't wait for this then.

And I'm hoping for crews; I want to see the best of SD rip it up.

Edit: BTW, SM should be able to supply a TV and GCN this time around too. Hopefully.

PAT! I'm glad they got of you. They have been contacting me a lot about this, and I really couldn't deal with it. I'm so glad you rose to the occasion!

I'll be there and I'll help run the tournament. I actually own a Karaoke machine that I can use as a microphone set to announce matches, I think.

You shoulda just left it at "I actually own a Karaoke machine." It would would've been the more Edrees-esque thing to do.

JTB I'm so down for that, we should get Azeem and Mike Y too.

EDIT: First page updated - 10 TVs will be provided, but tables are all booked. We'll need cubes/wiis at full force and maybe just a few TVs.

Is there a place you can find rules and such?
