I'm compiling a list of Twitter accounts for tournaments, conventions, events, etc. More and more events are starting to use Twitter (plus Ustream, Justin.tv, etc) to post updates and information, as well as using it as a way to deliver content on the day of.

But, accounts are surprisingly difficult to find, even in official threads. I figure by gathering them together, Smashers on Twitter will have a good starter-kit of tournaments and leagues to follow for information.

Here's what I've found after combing through the first few pages of tournament threads:

MLG - @MLGpro
VGBootcamp - @VGBootcamp
Pound - @ChaosMarth, @Chibosempai
GPX (G.A.M.M.E., Animation & Gaming Ohio) - @GPXGaming
Airship - @TheAirship
Final Round - @ATLFinalRound
Colorado Cutthroat (Cutthroat Ranbat 5) - @Cutthroat_Games
NVGA (Supercon) - @NVGApro, @NVGAonline
Evo - @Evo2k
Devastation - @Devastationfeed
HOBO - @HOBO_Series
APEX - @apex_series
ZEST - @ZESTtourney
2 Good Gaming - @2goodgaming

Tournament Host Personal Twitter Accounts
Scav - @Scav382
Jem - @hMJem

I put ChaosMarth on the Events Twitter list because it looks like he only updated during Pound. So, his account is essentially the official Pound Twitter. Let me know if I'm wrong ;)

This is for events, tournaments and the like. If you're a big-time tournament host on Twitter, go ahead and post it so we can put together a list of "Tournament Hosts to Follow". But, since those are likely to be more personal and off-topic, they won't be included in the Events Twitter list.

So, stuff like GPX, VGBootCamp, MLGPro, Final Round, and Devastation are perfect. They're dedicated to their events that someone can check in order to find, say, the latest news about MLG Orlando.

So! I'm sure my list is lacking. What else should be on it?

Done and done.

You realize, Chibo, that this means you need to start updating with tournament info and other shenanigans ;)

I'll try to post updates of Pacific Northwest tournaments and MLG events. I've had my twitter for awhile and use it all the time already as it is.

Updated. Jem, I started a list for TO personal twitter accounts, since it looks like you use your account for more than just Pac West tournaments.

Which is cool, but that's why we have two lists ;)

Very nice!

Good work on keeping up with the bracket updates, especially.

I wonder if we should be doing more to promote these twitter accounts. It doesn't look like there's a lot of interaction between different tournament hosts/organizations. Yes, that is the tournament host's responsibility, but some collaboration would go a long way.
