Again where is this thing gong to be on Sat
at the U of A. you should call Rob (okami) if you need help. or you could call me if you need to. Joey's been there before
@Mr. J-Student Union of University of Arizona. Bottom floor. Look for the TV Lounge and then knock on the door because you don't have a CatCard.

Jeff, what time are you getting here?

People should try to show up by 12.

Does anyone have a Rock Band mic? If so, you should bring it just in case.

K, see everyone there!

~BW
you know, i'm actually not 100% sure, but i'm probably gonna be there at around 1pm lol. i can maybe try to come earlier if need be. i'll discuss things with Tai
It's Saturday. If anyone wants to play today with me that's fine too (you have to call me though), but the tourney/smashfest is Saturday. Xander could you bring a mic (with a USB port) just in case? We can always record commentary and if it's bad, we won't upload with it.

I just figured out if you hold Shift and scroll, it goes back through your recent pages.
i held shift and scroll, but nothing happened :(

I'll work on uploading videos as soon as I find time to (which means when I'm not playing CoD: MW2, doing homework, playing melee). I plan to upload the videos with commentary to my second channel, which I'll post a link to. Then you guys can vote whether or not the commentary should stay on the videos or not (I really would like to invite Jackie to do commentary next time).

So, Brian, Jeff, Joey, Karl, Shiv, Xander (I put your guys' names in alphabetical order so you couldn't get mad at me for favoring anyone ;) ) and I decided that this could be a monthly thing perhaps. Tucson's probably got the largest melee scene in Arizona right now, plus it's in between SV and Phoenix. I was wondering, should I make a thread in which I can edit the first page in terms of results and dates and directions and things in the Arizona subforum or should we just keep this in this topic?

Thanks all of you for attending! Hope you can all come back next time! <3

Good stuff everyone. Shoutouts....

1: Forward- "6 years and still the king of AZ" as I would say, right? Hahaha, I love you for winning and I think sometimes you underestimate how good you REALLY are. Hope it felt good to be on top again. Keep it up please!
2: Axe- I already apologized to you for the bit outlandish comment I said during your GF match with Sean but I'll do it again. Sorry for the comment =P. Like you said though I gotta root for him. You're still extremely skilled and I was glad to finally play you in a tourney set even though I got ***** haha. Good stuff.
3: Gamerguitarist7- You're getting so good it's ****ing scary. Being that good while working full time/overtime is just not right. You could have had both those Brinstar games against Jeff. Good job beating Tai as well.
4: Tai- Don't ever scare me like that again with your set against Joey. I was seriously worried >_<. As always it's nice to see you when you come down here since you don't much. Oh and....play Fox more =).
5: Silly Kyle- YEAH GO PEACH!! lmfao. Funniest smasher ever I swear. Us being new Team Oblivion ***** btw. Super good job on beating Joey g****.
5: Yeah!- I'll get you next time >_>. You play campier than I do and I guess I wasn't expecting it =P. Maybe I'll have to try my hand at Sheik and start realizing that she's still probly my best character. Either way, good games.
7: Shiv- Haha I remember when Sean walked over to watch our matches and he was like "You can't beat the guy who paid for you" I laughed REALLY hard at that aha. Good matches though man, sorry bout that 3rd one, sometimes just gotta do work though ya know =P. Thank you for paying for me as well, I should be able to get that money back to you ASAP, so I'll pay you back at the next smashfest.
7: Spencer- I know this is lame to shout to myself but I'm doing it so shut up >_>. I played possibly the best I've ever played at a tournament and I think the music and tag I used helped me greatly haha(I was listening to the music of the person in my tag's name). Good games to everyone I played, I'm glad to have been a part and done my part to help get some people to come who normally wouldn't.
9: Tag- O_o.....you lost so much weight. LOL! That was literally my first reaction to seeing you lmao. You probly won't read this but you're still pretty good, nice Falco.
9: Okami- Learn to chain throw, that is all. Haha nah, good match in the crew battle though, Sheik dittos are kinda ******** but still, keep up on that chain throw. Thanks for hosting/running it/recording etc.
9: Rubyiris- :|. You need Adderall to do better or something lol. Unfortunately I didn't get any friendlies in with you this time which was kind of saddening. I really wish you would have beaten Joey because then we could have had a rematch since we haven't played since Grand Challenge. Good stuff either way.
9: Rusty- Good games in LB. You could be a lot better if you tried to be less like Silent Wolf and more like Forward and friends with Falco. Hope you like my Fox, too =).
13: Cooper- Wow it was cool to see you again. We didn't play at all but still it's cool you were here. Bring Jade and Enrique next time too they're good!
13: Chubbz- LOL when you tech chase grabbed Rusty like 5 times then kneed him at the end and everyone was like OHH MY GOD CHUBBZ lmfao. You can improve man if you just start moving a little faster.
13: Cats- Nice to meet you, didn't play in singles but we did in doubles. You're not bad for only have played for 3 months and just gotten a quick lesson from Sean. Practice with Tai and the Phx crew more and I'm sure you could get pretty good.
13: WookieDumpling- Nick: *gigantic burp* Me: Nice Nick: Thank you. Good job on gigantic burps and ALMOST beating Rusty. You should come out and play more often, we don't see you around enough. You could get really good too if you just practiced more, look at Kyle for proof of that ;).

SPECIAL SHOUTOUT SECTION

Jackie: I hate you SO much for not coming. **** you call center work for taking Jackie from us. Seriously man, you're too good to NOT come and you need to get a result for a tourney since you never come in time to enter for the AIAB tournies.

EDIT: Hey Rob maybe you should post this in tourney results just cuz it's kinda a tourney? Plus more people will know about the video channel and all to watch.

I'm not going to do individual shoutouts. There are many qualities about everybody that I love, and it could be endless.

But I am going to shout out about one thing: it's amazing that 20 people who might otherwise never meet did meet through Smash and got together to play yesterday. In the past year I've come to realize that, not only do I play Smash because it's a great game, but because there's a great community. I mean, lol, Mushroom Kingdom 2 in tournament? Level 9 Ganon? Amazing/ridiculous matches hyped up with cheering, hollering, hooting, and laughing...We're all playing this game together to have a great time.

And we do. We've got something great here.

Indeed, I agree with Shiv. LOL @ Joey with a Level 9 Ganon btw.

You guys stole our team name!!! And Tag is back???
Haha sorry man but it's because me and Kyle play Peach and Sheik and I couldn't think of a better team name so we stole yours hah.

1. Mic feedback
2. Calling the players by their tags, not their names
3. Being more serious
4. Yeah! being a jerk
5. Chris getting handed a Bunny Ranch flyer

Next time I know a lot of changes that can be made:

1. People get there earlier
2. My recording equipment is set up on a TV that's on the ground
3. We don't record friendlies
4. I stay by the recording equipment 90% of the time
5. When commentating, I change the mic input to pick up only 70% or so
6. The audience stays at least 5 feet away from the commentators

I think next time I'd like to invite Jackie to commentate first and foremost. If he's not able to, then I'm thinking maybe either Chris, Sean, or Shiv. I like the whole calmer voices style. As I said, I'm a huge fan of Wife's commentary and less of HMW and Phil's. I actually somewhat like the commentary of Forward vs. Axe with Chris and I, but there's just too much feedback for me to be happy with it. I'll work on uploading videos at some point. I think the audio might be un-synced during some matches. As I said, next time having the recording equipment on solid surfaces and not hanging from the air should fix that. I'm sorry if the sound isn't that great for this time, but on the bright side, I know what I need to fix for next time.

Not every match, against Tai, yes. I actually expected you to beat Kyle but you lost to him so you're not the underdog at all really.

Wow are the videos of the GF's up? I wanna see my boy Axe against Forward lol. If Axe started going toe to toe against Zhu!!! then I kinda want to see how he changed it up against Forward B lol

Alright, quick question before I start uploading. I believe this happened because the recording equipment was hanging (Which is why I plan not to record friendlies next time; that way I can constantly monitor each fight that is recorded), but the audio is slightly off-synced from the video. For example, fox will firefox and 4 seconds later you'll hear the fire begin. I was curious as what to do about this. Would you all prefer me to upload it as is, upload it with no sound at all, or upload it with some sort of music, perhaps thematic to the characters fighting? I'll wait until there are a few responses before I start uploading.

Not certain if there's this delay during doubles yet. Just know there is from Axe vs GG7 on.
