Got some more videos needed in critique (I also need help with the two videos I previously uploaded, plz). Only these times I get bodied.
vs. :4myfriends:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pHZsjzkAOTo&list=UU0RMA482bkRmw4pukDNhPgQ
vs. :4greninja: (super salty about this one) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c1WnHTIzdkk&list=UU0RMA482bkRmw4pukDNhPgQ

Man do I hate losing ditto Matches, nothing feels worse than getting bodied with my own character.
Ugh. I feel ya. I was in a tournament yesterday and made it to quarter finals and lost in a Greninja ditto. It was being streamed too. T_T ...7th out of 93 people is pretty good though.

Wouldn't say that you got bodied in that Ike match. That SD really tipped the scales. :4robinm:

Anyway, looks like you've got quite a solid Greninja already! I think the only thing that I could add on is maybe some hydro pump shenanigans in there. Hydro pump is a really good move if you know how to use it correctly. You can stop someone's recovery and gimp that outright.

Yup, I watched the Ike match and agree.

Your rolling habits lost you the set, imo. Can't blame the SD because you came back from it just fine. You could have three-stocked him the way he was playing though.

Every time he sharked you from the bottom and you just sat there waiting for him recover was a free kill. All you had to do was stay on the ground and upB away from him. Hydro Pump would have pushed him away and his Aether would have sent him plummeting to his doom.

Work on your mobility and your rolls will stop. Run away and turn-around shuriken, mix walking with empty short-hopping safely around the space near your opponent. Run in for grabs less often, use it only when you know where they're going for sure.

So I placed 4th in a tournament this past Saturday. I forgot to save all of my replays and it was a small turnout but I felt pretty good nonetheless. Fortunately I remebered to save most of the replays from the sets that I lost (each from the same MegaMan player).

Here's the round 2 match from Winners bracket (got 1 stocked in round 1): http://youtu.be/5EP7Qps-KCA

And here's the round 1 match from Losers bracket against the same MegaMan. I switched to Sonic after this match: http://youtu.be/-NHz8bgfwYU

Lastly here are some of my replays from a few of my other matches.

Against Samus: http://youtu.be/yDUEED6po9I

Against Diddy Kong: http://youtu.be/dgrtzrXO818

Critiques and match up suggestions are always appreciated :D

I'll definitely make a note to save ALL of my replays in future tournaments ;;

Whoo. Here's some videos I've got from some online tournament matches and friendlies.

Vs Sheik
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uXow3NfwPs4
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z8IUFyIwCXA

The guy I'm fighting in these two videos was the runner up for a tournament I was in and I was like "Yooo. Wanna have a few friendlies?" after the tournament had finished.

Vs Mega Man
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N67P1l03t50

I swear. Every video I have of me fighting a Mega Man has me losing. ._.

Vs Ness
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mFXekxsESqM
I've fought way too many Ness's that use that skin. Not exactly sure who that was.

I only watched the Mega Man one but as thanks for helpin me with mine...

1. WAY too many Up Smashes, you do it alot especially when he's on a platform above you or after you are dashing towards him. That MM guy sure seemed to catch onto it quite a lot and you whiffed a lot of them. A few Fsmashes from you also failed to get him, and he killed you with his Shoryuken/DP one time you whiffed the Fsmash.

2. You also went for a lot of dash grabs and dash attacks, usually after throwing shurikens. I think you were telegraphing yourself a little bit and made it pretty darn obvious to that guy, its like he could see you planning your moves before you could hit him. But like DrSoussou said on my Ike video, I do the same thing and suggested I mix it up more with run-away pivot shurikens and to mix it in with walking and empty shorthops around people.

3. A little too much rolling, you basically rolled into his Dsmash like 2 times and got killed both times (or technically, the first time you rolled away from it, but immediately ran right into it afterwards while it was still active and you died) . But I also have that, and I was told its what lost me that game against that Ike player so to be fair I still have it too.

4. Remember when you told me in one of my vids (it was against a Red Yohsi) that I hold on a fully charged shuriken a little longer than necessary and when I did it nothing happened at all? Your mini shurikens are pretty fine, but sometimes your accuracy with the fully charged ones seem a little rusty and you seem to use it at the wrong times, one time seemed because he was too far for it to hit and the others were because he was too high above or too low below you for it to get him.

5. Nice Hydro Pump gimp at 4:36, your other hydro pumps didn't kill him though. But I think you might've been able to just RAR and use a Bair to gimp him (beware of MM's Fair though), and you might not have had to use Hyrdo Pump in the first place if you just used that. Works fine on Megaman, but I think its good to know that the Hydro Pump gimp doesn't work on everyone so you don't try to rely on it when facing one immune to it. If you still needed it, you might have been able to use UpB after a Bair hit but I'm not sure, I could be wrong and I probably am.

6. Not really a problem, but I think it'd be easier to help if you had the camera on both screens. I can only see the fighting, can't tell the damage percents.

Other than this though, no complaints. If you'd cut back on the Usmashes, tone the dash grabs/attacks down, and played a little more carefully you might have won.

Great point, thanks! Will definitely try to cut the rolling and dash grab habits with those methods, it's about time I tried empty jumps anyway and I kinda figured out the rolling habit. Just a question on the Hydro Pump on his Aether kill, which direction do I shoot myself exactly? Up-left? Straight sideways? Other?

Thanks.

As long as you push him away from the edge it doesnt really matter.

have not played sm4sh yet this may be a dumb question but on the first kill your facing right and end up doing a bair > bair which means you would have had to turn around before jumping, i watched it a few times, maybe i'm just missing it or your able to pivot in the air right before performing a bair? if you can elaborate any?thanks in advance. anyways, less than two weeks hype

Got some new videos up, like some more thoughts on how I'm progressing and maybe a few tips with matchup knowledge:

vs. :4link:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DgrKRYCGxqs&list=UU0RMA482bkRmw4pukDNhPgQ
vs. :4littlemac:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-b2cxEWl_oc&list=UU0RMA482bkRmw4pukDNhPgQ

vs. :4dedede:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NBo4VjHQYT4&list=UU0RMA482bkRmw4pukDNhPgQ

And I'll save the best one for last: vs. :4pacman:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ncKCFxWcVNc&list=UU0RMA482bkRmw4pukDNhPgQ My personal favorite part of this battle is at 1:31, skip to it and find out why!

That's called a RAR (reverse-aerial rush), you basically just dash, pivot, and then cancel the pivot lag with jump, which then allows you to perform an aerial.

Hey! I'm a Smash Bros. player from Argentina. I'm new here but I've checked the forums previously. Greninja will probably be my main here, and here's a video I just made with a few KOs using Greninja's Hydro Pump, hope you like it :) I've seen some amazing videos here too.

Love what you did with the music, and the little victory screen at the end too! If only I could do that for my videos....

I played against a good Greninja called Alphame... the other day. I wondered if he was here. He had a great ledge and gimp game. Any videos about good Greninjas controlling the edge and gimping with Up B?

So has anyone found any good Greninja matches since the recent patch? I really like him, but the nerfs made him even harder for me to get kills with than before.

How was this Greninja against my Robin?

http://youtu.be/g9o34Yfu2JE
Kind of whack IMO. Anyone who's only approach is dash attack/grab doesn't know what they're doing. Dashing in this game is like jumping in Street Fighter (n00by and easily punishable). He should be using more short hops to get in especailly since Robin's flame stops most ground approaches.

I mean some good tourney footage? I want to see some good stuff. Everyone seems to just do a lot of dash attacks and grabs instead of using the high level mobility.
