Yeah I apologize for being rude. I'm so used to listening to people rant about how people john about characters being too easy to lose that I just start acting up when someone says something like that.


In other news, I decided to put Weon-X under Fox and Thumbswayup under Captain Falcon. You guys should check Thumbs out if you haven't already in the weekly Xanadu streams by VGBootCamp.

Keeping an incorrect opinion is fine, but I guess since I responded with a GIF and Ryker had to come in belligerently, I'll clarify.

Mr. Game and Watch is a pretty solid character overall with some pretty okay strengths. The general consensus has been for a long time that he is bad more likely than it has been that he has been good. He's a character that has apparently warranted buffs in just about every iteration he's continued in at every release date, so evidence seems to support this opinion.

As for Game and Watch players that see "great success", you've got a whopping total of... one, in Dakpo (as a solo-main and the only one to win a tournament with Solo Game and Watch.). Oracle is a high level Game and Watch player, but at this point is probably a lot more notable for his Lucas and Eli who is multifaceted, but is also loads more notable for his Donkey Kong. A step down from that, you have myself, Nahpro (Nap), Calvo, darkm3troid, Meiling (and probably more) who place pretty well , but generally inside of the top-8 but outside of the top-3 in our respective areas. His matchup spread is not very good (with maybe no winning matchups around the top level of the metagame, but a fair amount of close ones) and he has a fair amount of problems that are only further emphasized with the strengths of other characters.

It takes a lot of work to be good with this character as with just about any character in the game, so yes, people are going to take offense when you offer your opinion.

and yeah I heard (From Plup and random other people) that Ivy was like the best character right now. I never tried him before, but I hear his range is ridiculous. I would consider picking him up, but I feel he'll just be nerfed when/after I do so that's why I'm reluctant to.

Also I was told Roy wouldn't be allowed in tournament at big house because it was 2.6

Roy won't be in the tournament, but on the second day of BH3 there will be a station where people can try out Roy before he is released.

actually, i'd like to test roy from a theoretical standpoint before official release and make a list of assertions about my impressions just to see if they come out correct or not. i don't regularly play with anyone right now so it'd still be a good isolated test. can i pursue this idea somewhere?

Dude Korea is like the Starcraft capital! You should be training for that ****.

But I feel your pain, not having many human players to play against really sucks.
You could try wifi, and just try to ignore the frame delay.

OH GOD NO! I swear wifi is the WORST way to play P:M. If you play wifi the lag will 1. Make you drop combos 2. **** your recovery 3. Make you do things you swear you didn't want to do. Playing on wifi is an unnerving feeling. Any lag spike can **** you over.

Are you guys going to be streaming that station on the 2nd day? I'd love to see how people use him. Maybe he could be my secondary.

I think there has been a P:M Mewtwo mod for awhile. So maybe they can use that as a base.

I don't know why Ally is even up here. Yes, he is amazing at Brawl and his reads are crazy pro, but that doesn't matter in Melee/PM if you have TERRIBLE tech skill. Seriously, it hurts me to watch his PM videos. He must miss ~50% of his L-cancels and his movement looks so sloppy.

If we're counting secondaries, then why isn't M2K's CF up there too? Its about a million times better than Ally's. Fuzzyness' CF is pretty awesome. Why isn't Darkrain up there? He played at Melee FC in the PM tournament.

Woah lol. I didn't make the original list, someone else did. Ally was there way before I took over, and I didn't really argue with it becomes no one else called him out since then. I don't count Darkrain because A) I've only really seen him participate in a PM tourney once and more importantly B) FC-Legacy was still I think in 2.1. The match ups against different characters has changed drastically since then, so I can't really list him here.

As for M2K, the last time I saw his Falcon was back in 2.0. I don't want to put him here because every time he chooses Falcon he's usually sandbagging. This thread isn't only supposed to put players on a pedestal. In fact, its more for people to see who to watch out for. One hit wonders and sandbaggers don't fall under this list.

Play against Ally and then say things. He makes some of the smartest decisions and some of the fastest adaptions I've ever seen as a player. Don't just take my word for it, though. Ask Oro and Zinoto, who are also on this list.

Also why is Oracle on the GnW list and not on the Lucas list?

Speaking of the GnW list. Why is Para still on here? Why list Meta and leave off some of the many other GnW players that do well in areas. If anything, only Dakpo should be on this list for GnW since he's the only person to have won anything with him.

Finally, you should put Anther on for Pikachu.
