Not sure why Vwins has the 3rd slot on the Ivysaur portion of this thread. Where are his accomplishments? I'm nominating Machiavelli as the contender for the number 3 spot on this thread. He has an impeccable attendance record in SoCal and has traveled to AZ tournaments and placed top 5 along with Aero the SoCal TL player (#1 on this thread).

Overall, I think Machiavelli should be placed in that 3rd slot instead of Vwins because he's got a good track record and has traveled out of state. He outplaced most of AZ at their own tournament. Fear this man's Ivysaur!

Great job sticking through with PM during the days of Demo 2.0 when no one around you played, I'm glad that you finally have a local scene to destroy .

The point isn't that MA is getting good, the point is that the regions Lunchables mentioned don't have a stable stream. We essentially have our own equivalent of VGBC. Not as popular, but we get tons of match videos up. We might have more match videos of our weeklies than all the regions he listed put together. Every weekly nets us around 17 match vids. So awesome.

I mean, there's Wolf, Numerics, Sora, Secret Sauce, Sprawlers, Joe!, AOI, and Spaz, all who play on a high level. On top of that, anyone who has been watching us can see how quickly the skill level rose between week 1 and week 9. If you watch Big House 3 footage of Oro, you can see that Numerics right now is better than he was then. Think of where Numerics will be in one month.

I'm just going to focus on putting on a great stream and weekly, but I don't have to worry that much. The player level is growing ridiculously fast and its up to the rest of the community to sleep on it if they like.

KDJ is our gatekeeper to high level play at the moment, especially for those who are doomed to never go out of state. Wolf is very close to beating him, but the rest of us have a ways to go. My definition of high level play is probably a lot more strict though.

I think the only region I'd be scared to crew battle is New York. Salty Suites clearly has the highest concentration of skilled players locked down.

I'm not saying that everyone that plays there is bad. I just think POOB brings da hype. Furthermore, it's not salt against Link, it's more like pity that a DK main has play against so many solid Link players in bracket. As a former DK main, I'll say that the match-up may not even be unwinnable or anything, but it's always super annoying.

As it stands right now, I'd say that a crew battle between the top ten of Texas and the top ten of any other region wouldn't even be a contest.

TX is clearly the best PM region, I don't think that can really be argued. They would win any crew battle of between 4-10 people. If you make the number smaller smaller it would depend on whether or not it takes place in TX and whether or not M2K is allowed to participate on a NY/NJ team considering he's basically a world warrior at this point

Not really that interested in that kind of an e-pen contest. Also, I do think TX has better players than MA right now (though I think with KDJ and Wolf, it would be closer than you seem to think). Regardless, I'm not here bragging about how MA has the best scene. I just don't think we are irrelevant either.

Then again, we are the youngest "major" scene, so It'll be much more interesting to make comparisons some months down the line.

Also, you all overhype Texas. Frozen, Rolex, Eli, Gurukid, Gallo had just as impressive showings at Apex in their play as Oracle, Sethlon, and Dapko. No region is clearly ahead right now. They are just all defined by 2-3 good players.

Edit: I'd say aMSa deserves a Lucario spot, but we can totally wait until SKTAR to see where it falls. And it's for stuff like this (comparing transcontinental players and such) that I think these lists don't need to be ordered.

TX doesn't have the #1 player imo (admittedly I don't have a solid #1 but all my options ain't in texas), but it holds a deathgrip on general top 10 to top 25 players and most other regions only have one or two good players who would inevitably lose all their stocks over time. I love that kind of region over regions where one player just holds superiority, it's far scarier to be in a scene with several killers than just one
