Despite my belief that Snake is an unlockable character and that Sakurai would only show starters on the Dojo, I wouldn't be that surprised if Sakurai updated with Snake on the dojo tomorrow, now. Hmmmmm...

The bat in snake's hand has the mushroom symbol on it... What if this is some kind of "special" bat (like the golden hammer) where it is the same basic item, but it looks slightly different, is more rare, and is more powerful? Personally, I'm not a fan of things like that (Luigi's random explode off the screen in a blaze of random death B move for example), but it makes sense.... Or, yeah, it's just an updated version of the homerun bat.

Actually many of us do. Just not the people in this topic. Well, I know how this works. I hope the cipher is invincible during this move or destroying it will be the way to ruin Solid Snake's recovery.

You know, I don't think Snake is an unlockable character after all. I mean, why would he spend all this time hyping him up (through trailers and such) if he wouldn't even be able to played with from the start? If he really was an unlockable character though, I don't think he would've been announced with all the other newcomers who we presume aren't unlockable. This is probably a dumb theory. Same thing went with Meta Knight, though. Lots of people thought he was unlockable because he wasn't shown a lot.
