I must say I am presently surprised...

Of course, you DO know this just means that tomorrow we will see a double update: "Home Run Bat" and "Mr. Saturn".

Wow, if the cypher is his recovery, that is a pretty awesome idea. I really didn't know how snake was gonna recover, but that is a pretty good idea.

Lol, it looks like he's wearing a thong.

Posted this in another thread:

It says these were first shots of snake in the actual game.

The screen showing Mario seem like a transmission between the colonel and Snake about Mario's rise to fame. Perhaps it'll tie in with some sort of story mode aspect? Snake will target Mario?

Ugh, it looks much worse than that.

It's almost like he deliberately stuffed his pants up his a**

Who didnt see Mr. Saturn coming?

We need a basic item in Brawl that does absolutely nothing useful. :p
Mr. Saturn useless!? Blasphomey! He rocks some B!tches shields! o_O

**** you peach players...

(for the record, Blasphomey says it's spelled wrong in the spell checker, but I'm 95% sure that's the correct spelling...)

It's spelled blasphemy, your spell check wasn't wrong.

And one of the previous posters was right, I don't think it's the homerun bat; if you look closely, the Super Mushroom can be seen on it- perhaps the homerun bat is being replaced with the Super Mario Baseball Bat or something. Probably still does the same thing (perhaps they're doing this so Ness' own homerun bat is unique to him, rather than being something that he has and also being an item).

It's kind of sad to me that these two Snake screenshots have sparked more interesting conversation and ideas than the entire week's worth of updates on the official Smash website, save Wi-Fi.

I'm curious what the deal is with the Homerun Bat. Is it getting a revamp to represent Mario Superstar Baseball or Wii Sports? Is it plainly graphical? What does this mean for other Smash-born items such as the Beam Sword?

Home-Run bat has never been from Mother though. The trophy in Melee said it's first appearance was in SSB, but I think you're right with them replacing it with a Mario Bat.

Why Konami showed some screen is because Snake is already confirmed, I highly doubt that they will show more 3rd party characters because Sakurai would like to keep them hidden.

That's so unfair!!! They just took it away! I know it costed money, but still! I had a successful recolor thread!!! And I was about to rank up to a Tingle, and I'd only been there for 40 days!!! This is a saddening thing. Oh well.

Meh... I will come back. :p
Me too. I loved those boards. Not only did it have all the smash bros stuff on one board, there was the DK board that I frequented and whenever I felt like flaming some furries i could pop on over to the Starfox forum and get them riled up. These boards are cool too though. I like that I finally had some sig room to actually make a custom signature for myself.

I didn't know about that, pretty cool.

Bowser is in one of the screenshots, I'm happy:laugh:
Yeah! It is so amazing how awesome Bowser looks in Brawl especially compared to how horrible he looked in melee, especially in the render used as this forum's icon.

it adds a lot more variety I guess, but i highly doubt that Nintendo will go that far

BTW, anyone who calls Mr. Saturn useless is wrong.

Mr. Saturn is one of the benchmarks of my casual play strategy entitled: "Pikachu wear-down". Or, as my friend likes to call it: "Run away, use thunderjolt alot and grab every item possible and throw it at me." :rocket:

Mr. Saturn is one the hallmarks of said strategy.

As you might've seen, Konami has released a couple new screens of Snake in SSBB. I don't know about you, but this makes me think there might be other SSBB mentions. From who? Well we've got Sega and Square-Enix at the TGS, you can see everyone else here.

The release isn't far away, and they DO need some more hype. I'm not promising or expecting anything, just leaving a couple options out for some big info soon!
The chances of them showing a smash character before nintendo does are very, very small, i would say there is no way at all that could happen, if they have a mascot, it will be revealed by nintendo first, in a video, just like snake, unless is a hidden character
