I used to think it was weird that people who don't even play Robin spend so much time in the Robin Social thread.

Then I looked around at the other social threads and with only a few exceptions they're either really slow, or in a few unfortunate cases outright hostile to people. (The Zelda thread seems to be one of the major exceptions, and their thread seems somewhat more oriented on being somewhat wacky/random in humor, with bits of 'exaggerated sass' mixed in.)

Then I noticed we apparently don't have a problem with the non-Robins hanging out here, and it kind of made sense.

Just an idle observation.

Anyway, I have to shamefully admit that I am one of the few here who didn't know about Robin until his Smash reveal. Before, I only cared about Ike and Ganon being in Smash again but after doing some research of the other characters and playing FE:Awakening, I am very glad that Robin and Lucy are in Smash.

They have become one of my favorites and Robin introduced me to a social thread full of awesome people. Plus it gave me the motivation to play some of the older FE games that I can get my hands on.

The Lucina social was pretty active for a while until it got shut down. It's back now but unfortunately there's not a lot of traction

I think the main attraction is that it's a robin thread but we can talk about anything under the visible spectrum. It's welcoming and easy to get into, which is why I'm here (even though I just lurk 90% of the time.)

I'm here because I mained Robin for a looooooong time so I became friends with a lot of people here and I don't want to get rid of that just because I stopped playing him/her. It also is one of the most active places on Smashboards for FE talk so that's cool too.

My knowledge of Fire Emblem for the longest time stemmed entirely from the Smash Bros. series. Robin and Lucina's trailer was my first exposure to these characters. Robin just looked like a really cool and unique character being a sword wielder and a mage. They became one of the characters I was most excited to play as. Then I found this thread and, well, I've never looked back since. I was indoctrinated into FE through the Robin Social, and I love it!

There are a few reasons for that.

A number of people here were prominent supporters of Robin prior to his/her confirmation, and while they may not main him/her now, they still enjoy hanging out in the thread. Back in the day, the Robin Support Thread became quite active as more and more supporters appeared, and it was a fun, safe place for them to hang out. That activity continued when that thread became the Robin Social.

On the other hand, the same qualities of the thread that drew supporters in has also attracted other users who simply enjoy the place. It's just a fun place to be, really.
