I keep missing all the squid talk. Boooooo.

Obv seen @ Chapter Serf Chapter Serf , but now I gotta look out for @ Raziek Raziek , @False Sense, @Pacack, @ Célja Célja , @Moydow...lotta y'all. Plus @RadiantTactician and @ SkarmNightmare (Brett) SkarmNightmare (Brett) if they convert.

Looking forward to to fight alongside you

out there, or if we end up opposing each other, at least hope I make a good showing.

And if you play and I didn't tag you, poke me. Must have more squids!

Little late to the convo but as a Pika main this rings a chord with me, so I figured I'd drop my two cents in.

Essentially, I originally stayed near-exclusively in the Brawl Pika social, the PGD. After Smash 4 came out, the PGD lost its momentum. I ended up effectively homeless, partly because much of the old guard has now moved on from Smash entirely, and the new guard is focused on competitive aspects that I, as a scrub, really can't weigh in on effectively. It runs fairly deep, too; I actually fired up a dedicated social thread in there not too long ago and while there is some occasional activity it's come and gone in bursts and I got itches need scratchin.

When this forced me to branch out, I found the Robin social, and originally hoped to recapture some of that spark, pardon the pun, that I felt in the PGD. To my great benefit, that never occurred; instead I've found another great community that has itself inspired me to check out even more communities since, primarily the Zeldas and the DR.

I know my presence on the site is perhaps still limited overall, but honestly, I feel like I've grown enormously. And because in large part that's because y'all have been awesome peeps, I thank and credit you all for it.

Stay classy, tacticians. Never change.

I was, if you're thinking of me. Keyword was.

I wasn't aware I'd have to sign for it from play-asia, and as such it languished in the post office for a month and was returned to them at my expense. I have not since found another.

I'm salty, but I have only myself to blame for not keeping up with it. More positively, I've learned, and I'm monitoring my Lucina like a hawk.

Hopefully you're not thinking of me, and one of the other Robin regulars has better news.

That video both amuses and horrifies me.

I like it.

Chargers I've only seen used properly from perches, which makes them kind of predictable once you know where the best perches are for each map. Because they have to be fairly focused on their task from where they're at and perches generally don't offer many places to run besides down, f you can sneak behind them, perches are easy bait for any anti-personnel weapon that can quickly overtake the perch and the percher. Nearly every shooter from Blaster to Aerospray fits that bill.

That said a charger player with good awareness of threats to his perch and, most importantly, quick and accurate aim would be a terror to behold. I have every confidence that one day we will, and I hope he's on my team, because I don't want to be on the wrong end of that barrel.

And on a final note damn did I talk a lot there. Stretching dat page like my name is Armstrong.

I started posting in this thread because I wanted Smash Bros to deliver something that would draw interest into Fire Emblem in a way that was representative of the series, meaningful, and not misleading. Smash 4 is many things, but I think as far as promotion goes it more than delivered what I was asking for. Awakening brought us in a number of fans, and Smash all the same.

Of course here I am two years later. I ended up getting sucked into the very primordial state of our community and have had a love for you folks ever since.
Not to give the wrong idea but I can't help but feel your welcoming presence everywhere I go, so it's not as a novel. I mean gold is gold, but if it takes form of even the most mundane and familiar of objects, you would never think twice that you are sitting on it.

I did indeed.

I spend most of my time in the shoutbox sharing things that give me warm and fuzzies during my matches. I still need to get an appropriate avi together, though.

Yo homie. :033:

The DR was kind of slow. I made the mistake of responding to like 10 other threads that I have watched.....now I can't keep up :urg:

That's been my problem too. I'm keeping up with so much back there I'm losing out on some of my social thread time. I think some of the Zeldas are getting anxious in particular without my constant stream of likes.

Even though I've had premium for a while now, I've never been in the Disco Room. How is it in there?

Though I guess I could also go look for myself rather than ask people about it. :estatic:

I started posting in this thread after beating Awakening.

Basically, when Robin's trailer first was released, I took an immediate interest in the character. A dark-looking mage, but a good guy, and he has a female counterpart? While I had wanted to jump into Fire Emblem for years, I could never find the games when they came out and, admittedly, I wasn't keen on permadeath as a concept. After the ESRB leak happened and Lucas was confirmed cut, I was totally lost. Lucas had been my character and the game he came from was very special to me. To really enjoy maining someone, I have to be familiar with their source material and love it a ton. While I've used several characters from games I've never even glanced at, my mains almost always come from games that mean a lot to me.

Out of all the characters in the end, Robin appealed to me the most. Her moveset just looked so interesting, and so did her design, and it was a good excuse to finally try Fire Emblem since Awakening was more obtainable than past games. So, after the ESRB leak, I bought Awakening in hopes of finding someone to fill the Lucas-shaped hole in my heart. And I ended up loving Awakening and Robin and wanting to discuss it a ton and find out more about the franchise, but I didn't know anyone personally who had played Fire Emblem, and most of the FE fan sites I could find didn't seem too welcoming towards newer fans. So, I ended up here and saw how amazing the Robin thread was and joined Smashboards after YEARS of lurking so I could talk Awakening.

I decided to come to this thread for two reasons:
1. Robin has white hair
2. I like Robin
3. My scouter detected high levels of swagonium emanating from this thread, little did i know that i would find a tremendous amount of said material in each and every one of you lovely tacticians, not only that but, to my surprise, Hong Hong 's swagonium level was well over 9000!!
It was crazy, and this thread became my substenance for the past year, yes all of you have been supporting my life since the beggining, unknowingly helping me to grow larger by day .

Yeah Delta, you could go in as bait a scout and tell all of us lowly plebeian non-premium members the wonders of the :disco:

So after visiting the Disco Room for about 20 minutes (and actually posting somewhere outside of the Robin boards) I can vouch that who ever isn't premium (or just doesn't post in the DR) should get premium and start visiting the DR.

I've barely scratched the surface of it, but now I feel like I've been missing out on a whole other side of Smashboards. :estatic:

I know I just mentioned this, but I'm reinstating it because of how chill and fun it is. The Disco Room is cool, you guys should check it out/get premium to check it out. I'm heading to bed, good night everybody.

So I was bumming around Inkopolis Plaza when I saw this:

And I immediately screenshotted it and said that this is going straight to the R.S.T.

Tell me I'm not crazy plz.

I was browsing through JP rock band JAM Project, and I swear their song Victory is a Fire Emblem medley with lyrics.

Am I just hearing things?

I'll be honest, I'm not hearing.... anything, really. Perhaps some timestamps/songnames of the things you think you're hearing?

I can't think of any sings right off the bat, but the song just has a distinct FE vibe to me. Maybe I'm just disillusioned.

And since JAM Project's song Omoide Wa Okkusennman uses Megaman II's Wily Castle theme completely, I didn't think it outside the realm of possibility with using FE as a template for one of their songs.
