Isaac and Robin in one trailer would be awesometastic! Though I don't know if they'd do multi-annoucnement trailers aside from something like charzizard.

Well, to be fair, if I had a clone, you know.

Does society not encourage you to learn to love yourself? Is Robin doing anything wrong? Is there any proof that they were siblings, the same person, or an alternate-dimension version of one self? Maybe purple robes and grey hair are merely a fashion. Did anyone think of that, hm?

That reminds me of an image I found the other day.

See? Chrom doesn't have to be so bad. ◔ᴗ◔

So, what would Robin's theatrical rival or counterpart be?

Little Mac has Samus, due to their contrast in height. Luma has Kirby, both being adorable star warriors. Charizard and Mario had a clash of flame. You get the idea.

Do you expect Robin's reveal trailer to focus on any specific character? If only Snake were still in play, I could imagine them playing chess or something.

Has anyone thought a possible use for Robins tactic skills in some sort of attack?

I'd say Zelda or King Dedede, the first due to her magic oriented gameplay, the latter because of his self proclaimed king title, I could picture him playing chess (and failing at that) with Robin.

SmashBoards, family-friendly? I don't believe that for a moment.
3. No Explicit Profanity or Inappropriate Material

Smash Boards strives to maintain a family-friendly site. Content that may be considered offensive is not allowed, at the discretion of the staff. Smash Boards employs an automatic censor to remove some vulgar language; do not attempt to bypass the censor. Do not post content that is excessively vulgar, profane, graphic, or violent in nature. Pornography and other sexually explicit material is strictly prohibited. Nudity of all forms is also strictly prohibited. Additionally, discussion about engaging in drug and/or alcohol use is not allowed, regardless of a user's age or laws in his/her jurisdiction.
Of course, Smashers are a part of the FGC. We are anything but family-friendly, politically correct, and clean. That said, we are working towards trying to improve the image of the Smash Bros community, especially now that we are having players on professional teams and interested sponsors.

Even though this is just one of thousands of topics, it is a part of my duty to encourage clean and positive behaviour. Not going to be slapping anyone on the wrist since no one is doing anything particularly horrible, but as a moderator and someone who has spent a lot of time and money in trying to help Smash grow, I'll make little pokes and prods here and there to keep things clean, in even the smallest of places. :)

Well, it is unanimously agreed that Robin should have a tactical fighting style, perhaps even trap-oriented.

I like that idea, it'd be a creative play style added to the series and it'd be pretty fitting, now I wanna see Robin even more in Smash

Isaac would be a good choice as others stated.
If Ganondorf is announced by then, I think he'd make a good foil - you could go the Brain vs Brawn route or - even though I myself still prefered if Robin didn't focus on this in Smash - dark magic and monster transformation vs. dark magic and monster transformation.

From those characters already announced it's a bit harder... Probably Zelda for the magic duel and focus on wisdom.

So yeah, nothing like getting featured on RTC to set off a 100-post rally. Shame almost no one outside of this thread thinks Robin has a chance...but it's great to see he's currently in the Top 10 of the most wanted characters.

We're closer to the Bandana Dee thread now than the Isaac thread...

I think I saw some people give Robin high ratings that I either haven't or only sparsely seen in this thread.
It's really weird how a lot of people give either straight zeros or 100% on Robin's want. Though I can't say that I have watched other RTC days, so maybe that's how people usually act there.

Ok now, I know this just ain't gonna happen unless Sakurai and his team do nothing but DLC for a year straight after release of the WiiU version, so try to be light on the "this won't happen" comments...
What if we somewhere down the line had Robin, Chrom AND Lucina in Smash?
I'm fairly certain I'd at least do one celebratory Awakening rememberance match with Robin, Chrom and Lucina heavily handicapped in team 1 and another Robin in team 2.

If that wouldn't be a challenge trial coming with the last DLC character anyways :D

Do people here want DLC? Merely curious.
It seems most people want DLC, and a handful that don't are assuming it'd be the kind of on disc stripped-from-the-game-to-sell-separately BS that some other companies that shall remain nameless do. Which seems like a pretty unfounded fear, to be honest; Nintendo's been pretty fair overall with the DLC they've done. It seems more likely that the developers got interested in a few characters after they set the roster in stone, or there are ones that only became relevant recently.

There's also a divide on what kinds of characters we'd see as DLC. It seems pretty split down the middle whether they think several or even all of then would be characters from former games. Others--myself included--would rather they be mostly newcomers.

I don't see the draw of bringing back most of the cut veterans, to be honest. Nearly all of them are either past their time or have more interesting counterparts on the roster already...or worse, they were originally clones. I'm not one to get caught up on nostalgia, and hopefully the developers don't either, especially since they haven't so far. I guess I just don't get the draw of bringing back, for example, Squirtle, Young Link, and Roy over fresh faces with unique playstyles like Sceptile, Impa, and Micaiah...or even Robin, if it came to that.

So now we're scouting other threads in the Robin thread? How thematically appropriate. >_>

I do like the idea of DLC, if only because Nintendo has been very fair with theirs so far. And there's always the chance that they will release characters for free and sell new challenge packs or something like that.

I do agree with Delzethin that if cut veterans like Roy would return as DLC, they better at least have new unique movesets. I just can't see clone characters as paid DLC.
The veterans I could see as DLC would be the likes of Mewtwo and Snake, since both have unique movesets and might not show up in the release version.
Though a few tweaks on them would occur I guess. Mewtwo's Shadow Ball would be too close to Lucarios Aura Sphere. Or the other way around, depending on your standpoint.

As far as veteran DLC is concerned, the only ones that I could see are Squirtle, Ivysaur, Lucas and Roy. I think Mewtwo would be in the roster initially as a secret character.

I'm okay with DLC as long as it's done right, and what little DLC Nintendo has done has been fine. So I'm confident they can do it well. I don't wanna spend twelve dollars for a skin or something.

I am largely neutral about it. Don't want it, but if it's there I'll get it, if that makes any sense.

I still hope there will be persistent product support, like a patch a year after release to fix bugs and exploits.

I hope so, too! With Nintendo seemingly focussing a bit more on tournament play with the For Glory! mode and Final Destination stages, I feel like it might actually happen. Patches and continous support can keep a game "alive" over a huge timespan, and the Smash Bros games already have one the if not the biggest lifespans of any offline games I've played so far.

Now with an actually usable online multiplayer AND long term support... *drool*

Away for a weekend and I have 5-7 pages to read... needless to say I only skimmed most of the posts. xD

I'm going to re-rank Tiki to be on par with Robin as a playable character, I like Robin a lot for how they can play but Tiki for their actual character.

As an aside about patching they already said they will support the game after launch but that doesn't mean it will be long term, possibly just keep watch for a few months and do a few balance changes/tweaks/bug fixes.

It would certainly be the most financially sensible thing to do. Smash Bros is going to be the most money Nintendo has made in the past three years by a long-shot. Between amiibos and DLC, they would be wise to ride it hard.

It would be both painful yet settling if Robin did not show up at all in Smash 4, in that sense. At least Lyn and Tiki were cut down where they stood and I don't expect them to be un-trophied, where as the other characters are still dangling from cages.

Edit - By the way, folks, todays POTD confirms Grima. No one bigger than that.:troll:
