Nintendo really should just release the patch notes instead of having the fans reverse-engineer them.

I'm downloading the patch right now. Probably will play a round of classic with Mewtwo to get a feel for him before I head back into Robin.

So how are you all planning to incorporate our newly refurbished wind jab into your game plans? I'm kinda thinking it might be best saved until kill percents to avoid staling; it could perhaps prove a solid KO option given the relatively low percent it ends stocks and the vertical knockback. Using it sparingly also keeps it from taking a toll on Elwind uses, as unlikely as that scenario generally is. On the other hand, it might be good for mid-range mindgames at any percent, since you have a window to delay the activation that might catch some approaches. What do you all think?

The two character I played the most got buffed, so that's pretty nice for me. I can live with sonic's back throw being nerfed though. I think I'm going to use the wind jab as more of a mix up in between fire jabs, and it'll also be good for when you use up your fire tome.

Wind Jab is still best used sparingly though. Considering it could potentially take our recovery if we are not careful. But Rage Wind Jab should be interesting though now that the opponent has to respect it. We can play some mindgames now.

Marth's dancing blade feels much better now. Combos into itself much more consistently, and certain combinations can kill from about 90-100% (with proper timing, forward-up-down-forward true-combo kills characters like Greninja and Fox at 90% at the edge of FD).

I would have preferred a bit less lag on some moves, but this is definitely acceptable. Coupled with Robin's wind jab no longer being useless, Diddy and Sanic nerfed, and ZSS untouched, this patch has gone fairly well for me.

The first paragraph is the guy writing it saying that chapter was the one he was most satisfied with of those he worked on (or something to that effect). That's as far as I went through it.

There's people saying Arcfire does more damage now, as well. Can someone confirm?

I tested against Ike in Smash mode and did 12% and 13% which is a percent or two higher compared to the numbers in @ Raziek 's guide. Not sure if there's a fresh move bonus though which may account for that extra percent though.

There's a slight fresh-move bonus in standard battles (not sure of the exact percentage). Training mode ignores this, as well as stale moves, rage, etc.

EDIT: Just tested it. Holy damn, did it get a lot better. I think Thoron comes out a bit faster? It might be a placebo, though.

I'm still feeling uneasy about this though. I can't see them adding in unless they change him up. For Ryu, I'm not sure if they'd add in another Capcom rep to make 4 3rd party characters. I like Ryu as much as the next guy, but even felt a little out of place despite him being a cool character and fun to play. As for Roy and Ryu being new characters, I don't really have an opinion on either of them. They are both really cool, though I wouldn't say I want those characters. Also, like what @ Moydow said, Ryu would demolish any chance of Phoenix Wright making it to Smash, and I really want Phoenix.

Ryu as a new character feels so out of place. Not to mention I don't want Smash to explode with 3rd party characters. Some are fine of course but too much of 3rd parties are just...well I just don't like it.

Also I encountered a Mew2 on FG who seems to have some competitive fundamentals going on. Is it me or is Mew2 really easy to juggle? He played fine against me but once I am in an advantageous position I could do just about anything to him and that's suprising considering how light he is. He hits suprisingly hard though. Mew2 seems to me like a mix of Zelda and Ganondorf.

So many of you know that I main , , and due to the fact that they come from two of my favourite games of all time, among MANY other reasons like being fun to use in general or being a persona of my very being. Well, it appears I'll be adding one more character to my list of mains. Yes, you guessed it. The powerful psychic mind of shall join the ranks of my mains.

I never saw this coming to be honest. Yes, Mewtwo is indeed an awesome Pokemon in general and yes, I love Pokemon games almost as much as Shay, but even still, I didn't think I would main Mewtwo. Oh how wrong I was! Mewtwo is such a fun character to use! That and he compliments my other main, Robin, so well given that they both use they're minds as weapons in various aspects. Anyways, I can see why Liquid enjoys Mewtwo so much. I never really used Mewtwo that much in Melee. In fact, I have zero recollection of actually using him outside of needing to use him. So in essence, he feels like a new character to me because of that.

Oh, and that Dunban Mii costume is freaking sexy!

I've played a few Mewtwo so far as Marth, and they haven't given me any trouble so far. He hits hard, yes, but he's so light he dies really early too. All he does is feed my rage until I'm at about 150%, then tipper f-smash when he's at about 60%, and no more Mewtwo.

I've played as Mewtwo for a bit as well, and he does feel a lot better here than in Melee. Tons of range with his tail, and his n-air is pretty decent too. His down-B is pretty miserable though.

First impression of Mewtwo is that nair is the most fun thing ever.
