I think it is pretty clear who I have voted for.

Why must they make us choose between cute little sister characters? Maybe we can get both of them in the third dlc path though.

One game forces you to follow the Hoshido side (the Japanese guys), while the other forces you to go with Nohr (the side with the evil-looking king (he just looks evil, he's really good at heart. Honest!). If you buy the digital version, you get to choose sides at Chapter 6.
No matter which you buy, the other path is available as DLC afterwards.
There's also going to be a third path available as DLC, in which you apparently go with neither side.

All this is only confirmed for Japan so far, no word yet on whether it'll apply to the West.

Not entirely true. They could trade off unlimited weapons with limited durability for unlimited durability with limited weapons, and accordingly make gold more scarce.

I'd like to see what kind of loadout and shopping decisions that would force. Selling weapons indiscriminately opens you up to having no weapons to fight with. Every weapon you assign to one unit is a weapon you can't assign to ten more. It's limiting in a different way, and could be interesting.

It sounds nice in theory but will most lik fall out in practice.

First off everyone will come equipped with some kind of weapon and it will be incredibly broken for even one character to have an unlimited Brave weapon. And oh man the Staves. Just the thought of unlimited Wrap and Rescue makes me groan.

My initial thoughts on those were that they were denoting assets and flaws, given how far apart the defence and resistance stats are (though I can't say the numbers are entirely atypical for those stats either). Temporary buffs/debuffs usually have a number alongside them saying how much the stat is changed by. Green numbers usually mean a capped stat, but the numbers are too low to be caps, even for a base class.

Oh, also, it's looking like IF might getting rid of the whole certain classes can only be used by a certain gender shtako. Which is cool if that is the case, it seems like we have a male Pegasus rider this time arounf and female in a Axe wielfing class besides Wryvern and Hero.

Well that is just a dumb idea. I really hope they make it all into on game for the Western release because in don't what to buy one version then have to purchase the other two. The third path I could understand, but choosing between which side? That just silly.

They're saying that each game will have a similar amount of content to Awakening though, so depending on how different the three paths are, it could be almost like getting three games for the price of two. We'll just have to wait and see how that works out.

Also (not commenting on you @ The Merc , just in general), Pokémon has been doing this stuff for aeons. I wonder how many people will ***** about FE doing this, and then go out and buy both versions of the next Pokémon games, which will be exactly the same as each other in terms of plot?

Besides, we don't know this yet. Maybe "your family" kicked you out, and he took you in? Anything is possible at this stage.

People complain about Fire Emblem because 13 games came out for the series before they decided to split it into two games and a DLC path.

Pokemon has always been a cash grab and the tv show brainwashed us all for years.

There are quite a few possible ways to write in a scenario where that's explainbable.

A. The Hoshido royalty intended for the player character to be raised in Nohr as a sign of good faith with the country.

B. The player character was, through some circumstances, separated from his/her original family and raised as Nohr royalty, unbeknownst to his lineage.

C. Thee player character was safe-kept at Nohr, which is undoubtedly the more militarily strong country, for his own safety due to threats from outside forces.

D. The countries formed an 'exchange' of sorts in order to keep peace, and there's a member of Nohr royalty hanging out in Hoshido (it would make a nice twist).

Granted, he doesn't look like an 'honest king', but maybe the game will invert the trope for a change.

No, he saved Kamui's life! Completely different. Allow to me to list some facts on why Nohr King Garon is a saint,

1: He visits Nohr Hospitals daily to bless newborn children.
2: He rescued puppies from a waterfall.
3: He issued a law making college 151% free so everyone could get an education.
4: He personally constructs new homes for families that are less fortunate.
5: He donates more blood than what is recommended for his age.
6: An orphan asked Father Garon for some change, the sweet old man gave the child a bucket of royal treasure.
7: He figured out a way to make it so men could ride pegasi.
8: He personally dresses himself up as Santa Claus, rides a pegasus, and goes around delivering presents to all of the people of Nohr (including people deemed naughty).

I hope you've realized the error of your way for thinking the Nohr King is evil.

All of these are really good possibilities. Expanding on A, maybe Kamui is allowed to go and visit his family in Hoshido (with an armed escort of course) every so often, sort of like a dual custody situation, but he spends most of his time in Nohr. That way they could build a strong emotional connection with both families/factions, making your ultimate choice all the harder.

You definitely won't be decided with what you see coming from the manga as you read on. Plenty of surprises. 2016 shall be a year for greatness.

While Luigi has pros against Robin, his main cons will be if Robin spaces Luigi properly and his recovery is pretty bad. You need to use your Thunders and Arcfires appropriately against Luigi. You want to keep him at bay, you want to limit him. Robin has the tools to do so, but Luigi will shut you down if he gets in. If you see an aggressive Luigi, use Robin's Arcfire jab as that keeps him away as well. As for recovery, it's fairly predictable and easily gimpable. Any form of Thunder, Arcfire, or nair gimp will ruin Luigi's day.

I can't say too much on the match-up as I haven't experienced too much of it. Right now, I say it's 50:50.

No way is this matchup even. Not with Luigi's Dash -> Shield being stupid good. Maybe we can have some games online so we can get well-versed in how this MU goes.
