If Nintendo actually can pull off a good grey morality plot line in this next game it will be a definite buy for me (as if it wasn't already). I just hope that it doesn't turn into a "Nohr leader was just possessed by an evil demon" type of thing where he was really a good guy the whole time and a completely evil force made him attack the other nation.

I waited nearly for an hour at GameStop only to find out that Robin was out of stock.
Now I bought a Japanese Robin off of Amazon for $35.
This better not be a goddamn scam.

Also, #TeamNeutral
Screw both sides! I will form my own army and create peace on both lands! You won't toy with my emotions!

I completely forgot today is Tharja's birthday.

YAY!
...
......
Alright, the party's over. Moving on.
I turned on Awakening just to celebrate Tharja's birthday...
Even the game didn't want me to do that. :(
OK, I guess it involves me changing my clock due to daylight savings...

We all know the real deciding factor...

That's not enough to convince me.

Robin and Lucina were sold out.

But I preordered Wario, Charizard, Pac-Man, and NESS! So that's 2/4 of my mains, with 1 not getting his Amiibo any time soon anyway. Doing better than I expected.

Reasons for Nohr: Nohr has cuter imouto. I fight for whoever calls me "onii-chan". Get that weak nii-sama out of here.

Well considering there's a third storyline as DLC, you may just get your wish to be neutral and create peace for both nations.

And this is why I'm waiting until Amazon can allow me to pre-order Robin and Lucina. Every time I've used Amazon, I've gotten the Amiibo's I wanted as long as I pre-ordered them in advance like Ike for example. Thank goodness Robin and Lucina aren't exclusives to Gamestop or some other store.

Oh, I didn't even think about that. I'll have to tell my Mom about that.

Well got good news, and have horrible news. Good news; I managed to secure a Charizard amiibo.

Bad news is that I failed to get a Robin and/or Lucina.

I waited a good two hours before I could get up to the register and heard the misfortune of Robin being sold out half way through the wait. I am happy to walk out with an amiibo, but it's heartbreaking that I waited two hours with no Fire Emblem amiibos :c

Looks like I'm doing it the harder and more expensive way...

I trust SMT x FE to be good it's just dayum that trailer was bad bad bad.
Also Fe Horoki/Nohr + Nohr/Horoki DLC is about 50$ in japan according to my shoddy math
I get the feeling that IS really wanted to make this game as big as possible but the funds were running low and well :/
Actually i wouldn't mind Horoki/Nohr if the game cost like 29.99 and the dlc cost 10.00

Unfortunately, this seems to be the story of this wave. Robin and Lucina are the obligatory impossible ones. Even Ness, an EXCLUSIVE TO ONE STORE AMIIBO, isn't selling out as badly.

@Hokori, I had no idea ;o
yes, I know it's not quite it, but close enough.

You meant Hoshido, I believe

I still think it's stupid to split a game like that for reasons I already stated, but eh.
Still hoping the NA/EU version is different.
I'm only saying this again because just making fun of a simple error with the country names looked mean.

they could always go the Atlus way and charge you 50$ instead of the usual 40$, for the sake of including all content in one cartridge.
SMT x FE just needs more FE, that's all.

:231:
The trailer could be amended if they added some :yeahboi:

Oh yeah, and it seems like we reached page 700.
I honestly hadn't noticed it before, with all this FE: if and SMTxFE discussion going on, so...
Keep classy, fellow tacticians.

It seems some FE characters are actually going to be demons. I want to see some cool designs.

I think it's 100% reasonable for people to judge SMTxFE based off a two minute trailer.

That's how the entertainment industry is. Game design in general obeys the five minute rule, where a game has failed if it has not captured the player's interest in five minutes. It might sound harsh, but it's true, and I think it's fair. When it comes to a trailer, IMO this should not be lessened; it should be magnified. You have two minutes to capture their attention... which is actually rather generous. A lot of people will drop off in one.

The trailer is not at all conclusive of the gameplay, and little of the story, but it doesn't have to be. The trailer already gives you conclusive information on things like art direction and the surface level of writing. For me, art direction alone is enough to ruin a game for me, which I think is perfectly okay. Just the same, if I never played a Fire Emblem game before and I was looking at Shadow Dragon, I'd never try the series. Knowing that I have actually played the game, I can still say I can't get over the art direction or animation, despite the overall decent Fire Emblem experience in terms of story and mechanics.

That said, I don't think @ S Syrek or anyone should be upset over scrutiny. It's like this: The people who make negative remarks on SMTxFE, but are interested in SMT and/or FE are still going to follow the progress of he game. I don't think people have written it off, even if some say they have (few do). They can say they have lost interest, and they probably have, and they have plenty of reason to have lost interest... But if they actually care about either series, they'll still be looking for information as it is available, if not as much as someone who is more interested.

As for people who are not fans of SMT or FE, whether they are interested in the game is free of bias, for the better. They'll have a clean perspective and find themselves utterly devoid of expectations related there-of. I would go so far as to say that the trailer has done reasonably well for this demography.

Hell, if I let people's opinion on Etrian Mystery Dungeon affect my mood, I'd be a miserable person. But I don't, because it's just a game. It's not a living thing. It doesn't have any feelings to be hurt. It will be fine. People will have their opinions on a game. People who are shutting it down or writing it off will say their piece and be gone within a week. The rest of us who are actually buying the game will still be around after it ships.

Well if anything, it looks more like Devil Summoner.
I'm sure the game will have great combat and/or characters like ATLUS RPGS always do, and honestly, next to Xenoblade Chronicles X and Zelda, this is one of Wii U's most ambicious looking games.
But i'm just turned off by the direction they took it too, i mean you might as well call it Shin Megami Tensei spin off inspired game with Fire Emblem inspired cosplay. There aren't even demons from what have we seen, and those are basically the heart of the SMT series.

I have an associate that collects these Amiibos and sells them at the same price. I'm in good hands for the time being for Robin, Lucina, and Ness. B)

Actually Hong, I'm in complete agreement with everything you just wrote and you made some bloody good points. Initially, I was upset over scrutiny simply because I still greatly believe in the game's quality and what it could be, even if the first trailer did a very poor job at highlighting why this is a game that has SMT x FE elements. However, I've mulled over what everyone has been saying and I can totally see where they are coming from and why they feel the way they do. Even though I support a very unpopular opinion on what I think of the game so far, I'm perfectly fine with that. I won't let my enthusiasm and interest for the game die just because of one trailers poor attempt to get the SMT x FE message across and I certainly won't let others tarnish how I feel about the game so far. Of course, like I've said previously, my opinion could change quite drastically depending on what I see in the future, but as of right now, I'm holding my ground and standing tall, despite what others may think or believe. And like you said, Hong, it's 100% reasonable for others to judge the game based off the two minute trailer. I firmly believe that and I accept it because it didn't communicate SMT x FE to many, even to myself to some degree.

So thank you, Hong, for your words of wisdom, your insight into the matter and your kindness towards me. Your amazing! <3

"Alright, maybe I should talk my amiibo stor-"

Uhh..... I pre-ordered :4robinm: and :4lucina: at Best Buy and it ended with success. I was originally going to do them and :4ness: at GameStop, but because Best Buy went up first... I took my chance and it actually went through. I'm going to try and get :4wario:, :4pacman:, and :4charizard: in whatever store has them. :4ness: and the remaining two, :4greninja: and :4jigglypuff: are retail exclusives here in North America and thus in leagues of their own. :4ness:, we all know, :4greninja: is Toys R Us, and :4jigglypuff: is Target.

According to this tweet, :4greninja: and the rest should be up on Toys R Us tomorrow so there's still hope for those of you who were unfortunate to get your character today.

The SMT and FE crossover was a disappointment. When you have Pegasi transforming into Horse with Turbo engines instead of legs, you have a... serious issue.
But lets be honest. Too much fanservice, not any fire emblem.

I'm personally hyped for IF. I have faith in a combined version in the US, and if not, well, the second route is discounted either way.
Personally, Dark mages + Being part of the evil empire + Awesome Black uniforms + Complex Plot + greater difficulty = Nohr route, best route.
However I will still play Hoshindo. I'll go Nohr-hard, Hoshindo-Lunatic, Nohr-Lunatic, then maybe the third route Lunatic...
That ought to last me until FE 15, considering how long it took me to beat Awakening Lunatic+.

I'm naturally going to get everything if. I'll do Hoshido first, since it's easier and will probably be more predictable. I'll do Nohr next, since not only will the difficulty be more in-line with my abilities, but then you can have those "Ohhhh, that's why there were being jerks" moments. I genuinely don't think Nohr a nation of scumbags and look forward to exposing the truth.

If this third campaign is the ultimate, full, hardest big shibang of the the two, it will be my third journey, which is what will serve as my "master file" in terms of preparation for DLC and whatnot.
Wipe that smile off!

There's only one thing that I need to know about Kamui when the game comes out.

Will he/she be able to solo-run chapters like their predecessor :4myfriends:?

Everybody trashed 3D World's first trailer and I've been to various sites that trashed If's first trailer as well. That's why I am still keeping an open mind over SMT X FE. If they can just focus a tiny bit more on Apocalyptic Tokyo and which FE characters are demons/angels/other creature/etc, then I will be much more satisfied with the game.

I don't think I'll choose a side until I get around playing those first 6 chapters which, hopefully, do a good job giving development to your comrades of each side. I'm more interested in what they said for Nohr, but I like the character designs from Hoshido better (but I don't trust this so much as I've hated characters with designs I enjoyed in Awakening, like Severa or Maribelle), so yeah, characters will really determine what I'd do first whenever I play the game

I am very disappointed in many of you.

Have some FAITH, for crying out loud! The SECOND people started talking about split versions y'all mother****ers started losing your minds claiming they've come to milk us for all our money.

When has Nintendo EVER done that? When has INTELLIGENT SYSTEMS EVER DONE THAT?!

You know what I see when I see that? I see MASSIVE INVOLVED STORYLINES ripe for the playing. So different and distinct that they WARRANT being split, not just like a 6-chapter split in Sacred Stones.

HAVE SOME FAITH.

BELIEVE IN RED-HAIRED PEGASUS WAIFU

BELIEVE IN @Pikachewy99 one day finishing that drawing of Hong and I!!!
