Possibly. Anri never had children either, yet Marth is his descendant.

Some say Priam happened because IS catered to whiny homophobic brats who wanted Ike to not be homosexual,but I think the reason why Priam happened is because everybody likes Ike. Those who have experienced the character generally like him, and it's no surprise they modelled Chrom after him quite a bit. Priam is to Ike, as Lucina and Chrom are to Marth. It's like continuing an awesome character.

I just realized how similar Soren and Robin are

plus Chrom and Ike get compared all the time makes me think Soren reincarnated as FeMU and married Ike's reincarnation Chrom because she feels a deep bond between them from a previous life. All of that is my headcanon of course.

In any event, I don't think IS is afraid of same-sex pairings. It's hilarious how badly NoA failed to hide the fact Heather was gay and only joined because she had the hots for Nephenee. For those unfamiliar, that is seriously the gist of it; she only joins your army to see what kind of women it has. We need more Heathers in Fire Emblem.

After the localization team got their hands on Awakening and had to deal with stuff like InigoxGerome, KjellexSevera, and arguably MaribellexLissa, they were probably just like "... Ah, **** it."

Well, in actuality Nintendo sourced out the localization for Awakening, which despites its flaws *cough*A-bake-ening*cough* was probably a good call.

Chrom and M!Robin's support was so much better than F!Robin.

I know a number of s felt taunted that they couldn't marry Tharja after such a build-up. I myself would have taken up Maribelle, Cherche, Kjelle or especially Tiki. Well, Tiki is kind of wonky as a possible S support for me, only because I spent so many years only knowing the younger version. Don't mind the older one, though.

If I had to hand pick some candidates for a lesbian -
I like Cherche, though I've never seen their supports so I don't know how well it would work.
If Cordelia's conversation with Robin is the same for both genders then I am definitely for that one. Hell, they could keep the S-rank identical.
For some Sumia and Robin seems like a good idea.
As does Say'ri, Anna and Sully.

EDIT: Also, after seeing her not-married-to-Inigo conversation with Inigo in the Hot Springs Scramble, I could totally see F!Robin marrying Olivia and being Inigo's adopted parent.

She is like a fusion of a maid and a barbarian. A trait that iis even reflected in her design.

Cordelia's support with Robin is the exact same for both genders, right down to both and Cordelia blushing when Cordelia says "We shouldn't be doing this or people will get the wrong idea."

i for one would've married sully in my first playthrough, but i felt that she was a better match with chrom. so i married cordelia because she was real pretty and i thought they'd have a cute first date with "we got dumped by the same couple" being the premise.
