Can I just make a brief point about Cherche's design?

Yeah, I know. Its not noticable in the game but...damn.

Cordelia's support with Robin is the exact same for both genders, right down to both :4robinf: and Cordelia blushing when Cordelia says "We shouldn't be doing this or people will get the wrong idea."
Really? That's great.
And also disappointing. I don't even like Cordelia that much but that is such a great pairing :urg:

Yes her back is exposed. No wonder she gets killed by a single arrow. Get some armor on Cherche, Minerva can handle it.

EDIT: Hey! We all said the same thing within a minute! Sensible armor club! Now let's get some pants on those cavaliers.

Full armour is more attractive IMO. For what it does not show in flesh, it shows in class and practicality. Good warriors are good mates, and good warriors are smart.:estatic:

But Kjelle goes way overkill with UFO or whatever it is she is wearing.

I was shocked to see Kjelle's official art of her without the shoulder thing. She actually looks kind of pretty without it.

Also, in the Swordmaster outfit.:bee:

Good pick! I like Wyvern Lord myself. With Donnel as her father, she can have Helswath + perfect Armsthrift, giving you a nice flying tank. Also throw Iote's Shield on her as needed.
Stolen.

Yeah! Her confession image is nice.

I mean gosh she likes training and armour and she looks good with short hair... Embarrass

They do say that the more is revealed, the less it leaves to the imagination. I'm okay with Kejelle's design, but I agree that her armor is pretty ridiculous. It gives Kellam a run for his money, but at least people pay attention to her though.

Though I've kinda realized that I'm a shallow person when it comes to marrying my Robin in Awakening. I worry more about what kids will be produced over who I want to S-Support. I wanted to try marrying Cherche since she is really kind and great wife material, but I didn't want Bruce Wayne Jr. as a child that much. I wanted to try S-Supporting Lissa since I really like Owain and wanted to see what he'd be like as my son.

Or perhaps there's a part of me doing it solely for tactical reasons of figuring out what child is best with Robin's genes (that's not Morgan.)

The funny thing is that the Metal Face icon was originally stolen by me in the first place lol.

And yeah, Kjelle looks adorable there, I'll admit. I like long hair better, though.

Normally I would agree with this, but in the case of Cherche I will have to disagree, sadly.
That being said, I would Kjelle's armor design more attractive if it looked like it did in her art. :(
Edit: more attractive than Cherche, I mean to say.

You know Vaike goes around everywhere without a shirt on, that's even worse. It's a wonder he didn't freeze to death on the trip to Regna Ferox.

A-effing-Greed. Look, I like hot women as much as the next guy. But for the love of god, if you're going to go into battle, a metallic bikini ain't going to cut it, and it sure as hell isn't going to distract me from ending you if you're on the enemy side. In fact, I'd probably be grinning like an idiot because of how easy of a kill it's going to be.

He's too dumb to realize that he's cold.
Either that or he manages to keep himself warm with all the hot air he's constantly putting out.

Well, to be fair, Cherche isn't wearing full armor to begin with, considering that art shows her in a base class. I think Wyvern Lords are better equipped in that regard, although I wouldn't know considering its hard to see units from the back ingame.

I've also liked the fact that Fredrick is wearing a suit underneath his armor. I know he's the lieutenant and practically Chrom's butler, but the idea of him being classy all the while being the great warrior he is was interesting.

I noticed that too and I love it. Frederick is just all around awesome. His Duel attack quotes are hilarious to me.

I can't help but say "With love" after Fredrick says his "Once More!" line. That and the fact that he sounds so happy about stabbing them just cracks a smile on my face.

That suit almost made me want to marry Frederick on my first run when I was still figuring out how to marry characters. Though, had I known how to marry and who was in the game, I still think I would have chosen Henry.

Now that I know how supports work, I'm debating on my first run of FE14 if I should let whoever marry whoever or try for specific pairings.

Might as well, at the risk of being cliché as hell, go with your heart. If you get the game when it first comes out, there will be no information as to which pairings produce the best kids.

Provided of course the game even has kids.

I for one will be in hiding when the FE14 gets released in Japan. I prefer going into my new games with little to no prior information for it makes my playthrough of it that much more enjoyable when I discover things. I tried to avoid information on X and Y for Pokemon, but next time I'll have to remember to stay away from social media. Smash 4 though I got caught up in the PotD posts but I went out of my way to avoid the leaks. I also don't usually engage in much speculation but this new Fire Emblem has proven to be an exception to me. I rewatched the trailer for it a couple days ago and I still get really hyped.

I'd like to avoid spoilers too for FE14. I might look up recruitment requirements as I go so I don't miss a person, but that's about it.

I totally agree with you two, but after I did that for ME3, I've been a really mixed bag about this sorta stuff.

I really, really wish I was that type of guy. But I'm too anal about these things and have to plan everything in advance. With awakening for example, I was already planning some arranged marriage for 1/3 of my team before I even got the game, with myself getting first dibs naturally.

I wouldn't be surprised if Cherche loved Minerva more than any of her potential husbands.

Now you're making me wish that Metal Face was in Awakening. :(

But Kjelle goes way overkill with UFO or whatever it is she is wearing.
It's a giant metal frisbee.

As for the designs of most of the cast, let's be thankful that they are in Awakening, where the clothing they wear (no matter how ungodly minimal it can be) is good enough for their defense. If they were in another RPG... yeah, they're screwed.

Sometimes, I'm too curious for my own good regarding spoilers, like I'll want to look up something supposedly minor, but before I know it, I've read up too much of the game. Fortunately, this didn't really impact my enjoyment of Awakening or even the new Smash games, but I can't say the same for the X & Y leaks, which have left me underwhelmed.

Confession: For a month or so I vanished from SmashBoards.

When I came back, all was well, but I was like "Where is Brawler610? He was such a levelheaded and agreeable guy. Ah well, cool to see folks like XenoBrawler610, who mains the same ****ing character across all games, and has the same level of chill, filling in the gap."

Hong's level of awareness and intellect is literally out of this world. :estatic:

Not like I am just realizing this, so much as I felt like sharing.
What about it? Tis good, yes.

Also,I decided to look up some of Kjelle's dialogue, where I noticed
- She is a tank
- She has my favorite hairstyle and color
- She is a feminist
- She takes no **** from anyone

In other words Kjelle is perfect. Why have I never used her?!
Because when a good song comes on I can't help but
and everyone else must know.

Also, Kjelle has all of that... but when a character never shuts up about how she can do so much more than any man, it comes across as insecure. The writers feel the need to have her compare herself to men just to seem strong, and are thus implying women should be weak... Despite the fact we know Lucina, Panne, and Cherche in particularly are both statistically and canonically some of the strongest playable characters. If she just said she was strong, and continued to prove it by showing dominance over everyone regardless of gender, it would have been better IMO.

Don't get me wrong. I love Kjelle, though I felt this imperfection merit some analysis. Get rid of this and the sub-woofers on her shoulders and we're good! Granted, she might wear the sub-woofers so she can play this as she leads the march:

True, but considering how her mother has the same trait I'm guessing it was supposed to a little obnoxious. Not to mention pretty much every character in the game has the issue of having one character trait shoved down our throats.

Though honestly I don't even see the need for that line of thought, half of every army is female and equally capable.

I don't think that was unintentional though, i think it is supposed to be her glaring weakness. After all Kjelle rarely shows any weakness in comparison to other females in the game, heck even some of the most badass females in the game like Panne, with her bitterness towards humans and the trauma of her race, or Lucina always worrying about the future and stuff, Kjelle always seems more focused and disciplined, but obviously she's definitely insecure about her strength, not just for comparing herself to men, but because she doesn't want to fail to save her loved ones again, wich is why she almost always has that stone cold facade.
I think even her armor i supposed to represent this in a way, like she might be protected from everything with it, except for herself.

I just wish the game randomized gender and maybe some basic details across enemies. From a developer standpoint, they can use the head and body shapes they made for the avatar system, but tailored towards the unique enemy faction models. It just seems kind of dumb how 19/20 women only appear in your army. They can have a solution that randomizes the enemy forces, takes little time to implement, and has little consequence on CPU load.

I agree. I also wish that not all of the male units were manly men. I want to see some guys that clearly don't have the nerve for fighting, especially considering that all of the enemy factions in the game are no strangers to sending villagers and peasants to their death in battle.

Bruh.

Speaking of Kjelle's armor, while I don't think it fits her very well, I do like the design. I feel like it would be funny to see a completely normal-looking guy in huge silly armor.

Shame there's no unit like that in the game.

Speaking of good soundtracks, i know a lot of people here (and by that i mean mainly Hong Hong :4dedede:) might not like Shin Megami Tensei, but hot damn, does SMT IV have a godly soundtrack, like it has enough good music to fill 3 games in there
Friggin' 80's style electro punk grunge industrial mixed with some amazing orchestral pieces and stuff
