Social "Time to Tip the Scales!" - Robin Social Thread

I've started a Lunatic file of Awakening, and this is how I feel right now:

I'm trying to get the S-supports for the spot-pass characters, so he's making it hard. XD

And this made me wish this is a thing because it's amazing:

I would totally use Titania!Lucina even over Cordelia!Lucina. ;_;

I've just determined what my next Awakening run will be, as a warm-up: Frederick Emblem: Fredericking.

Possibly blasphemous, but given my predisposition to recent funny images (known about them a while, this just reminded me of them) it seems fun enough. I also heard the comment that Chrom/Frederick can break the game sharply in two by themselves, and I intend to see just how far the author was exaggerating.

I will therefore attempt to use them as my only units for the entirety of the game. Everyone else plays poker in the Barracks until Grima gets shanked. Unless I am effectively given no choice due to map setup, if anyone other than Chrom or Frederick swings in combat, I reset.

We'll start this off on Normal/Classic and see how far up the tier we can take it. I expect it to work in Normal and falter sometime in Hard or Lunatic.

Once I've completed this experiment I'll do a run for realsies.

Also on a completely unrelated note: @ Elezir I know I haven't mentioned it for a few pages now, but I still intend to complete that wallpaper challenge.

So being the total lazy bum that I am, I've been playing a good amount of my new Awakening playthrough rather than studying. I finally decide to crack down and hit the books when I realize that my classes for tomorrow got canceled due to weather conditions.

Welp, if that's not a sign for more time in Fire Emblem then I don't know what is.

Though I will be a good tactician and properly prepare myself for my classes happening next week.

Hey! :3 Welcome to the Robin thread, Oh Palutena dear!
Pff, Lunatic+ can be frustating like that sometimes, even more because the AI is a cheating *******.
Use the items you get from the bonus box. They really help a lot, and anything that's powerful for that point in game and you got from special tiles. I was lucky with these in my playthrough, too, so it helped.
Another thing to be aware is the enemies skills. If any of the mages in the prologue, for example, have Vantage+, just reset until they dont :v
Oh yeah, and don't use Frederick too much if you can avoid that. Try to use him to clean the hardest enemies only, and abuse that pair up by switching between him and other characters/ transfering characters around.

Btw, about the new game, it seems like there's a countdown in FE site to the series anniversary. Some people think it's about more info on the new game.

Thanks I am not enterely new to this place, I must have been one of the hundreds of people that dropped here to congratulate active suporters back in the old days, and I am really sure you were kidding but to be safe I am male, it's just that Palutena was the main reason I joined the site and pretty much spent my time in that thread, but I also a die hard fan of FE, and it's one of my favorite series in the world.

I try not to use Frederick that much but in a world when your units die in two hits, or mercenaries double hit you on chapter 1 you simply have to use him and use the rest to kill off low life remainings. Yes I figured out about the mages the hard way.

I am really waiting new info of the game as long as it's not really that spoilling everything to me, I enjoy a good game with a good story.

W-why are you putting yourself through torture?!
You don't beat Lunatic+ mode because of how good of a tactician you are, but how lucky you are from the mercy of this game's RNG.

I will never do a Lunatic+ playthrough. It's not about how skillful at the game you are, but mainly because of how lucky you are. Oh, and you'll need Galeforce to survive, so I hope you got some of the game's DLC!

Hi! you seems familiar for some reason... you are right this mode is really luck dependant, I also thought that the Risen with the Hammer in Chapter 1 was plain awful, that and the Archer both gave tons of trouble, I used a split strategy after only 5 risen were on the map so I manage to win, after tons of resets of course, now that I am on Chapter 2 I am starting to rethink if this was a good idea, I am unsure if I am going to keep going or not, right now I am even unsure if I have a chance to reaching the Outrealm Gate which is my only hope.

Hmm... if you think that you screwed yourself over, maybe you can redo the whole playthrough? This difficulty requires a lot of patience with this mode's insane RNG. If you get bad RNG, you won't survive! The mode becomes more bearable with the Outrealms and the important DLC (like The Golden Gaffe, EXPonential Growth, and more), but it's still a major pain to do.

Yeah, I was kidding ;p I couldn't help because your avatar and sign have so much Palutena in it She's quite fun, too. I really like her guidances. Makes me want play Kid Icarus sometimes.

In my entire Lunatic+ playthrough I had to reset a total of 60-70 times, I think. I kinda lost the count after some time, and that's because I didn't count any soft resets caused by really bad level ups. (Really Lon'qu? 1 point in HP and that's it? You should be ashamed...) and I still consider myself lucky because I had some really life saving dual guards here and there.
Yeah :v I get that, I still tried not using Frederick too much by using the water glitch and dividing the enemies forces sometimes, though truth to be told it didn't always work because I was too unlucky.
After your Grandmaster of destruction starts to take off it becomes a bit wee easier though.
Honestly, if your enemies are going to have extremely op skills that'll make your victory impossible or not is completely up to RNG god, and I really hate that.

The only info I want is something confirming that we can pick sides in that war. Oh please, give me that...

Well I am not sure if I am screwed right now, I might try Chapter 2 and find out, but I think Frederick got a few useful level ups, I read that with next chapter enemies start to carry Counter and Aegis+ so it all depends on my levels of patience, but thanks for the advise.

By the way I am actually surprised to find you around here, I remember you being a huge fan of Luigi and Shulk so the Robin part must certainly had skipped my mind.

@ Elezir Palutena is really fun you should try Kid Icarus someday, don't listen to reviewers that said that the controls are bad, they are just different and the story and character are really enjoyable.

Now that people have started to give me feed back I am not enterely sure I am going to be patient enough to get through Lunatic+ so the tips you have given to me are appreciated.

On the new game not sure if you choice sites or you control a third one, so only time can tell, I am really glad they put Yusuke Kozaki back as the artist, one of the reasons Awakening was a success was this guy character artwork.

I am so not used to Hard Knuckle.I always assume that the meteor is active at the very start of a move, so everytime I use Hard Knuckle it just knocks them back to the stage... Crap.

100x Like this! even if it was just a weak meteor, i would love it. Though i also wouldn't mind if the sped up Robin's walking and running speed...

Ah GODS, this happens to me all the time with Mega Man's meteor and in fact other characters meteors as well. Seriously, they are so awkward (particularly ones like the Pit's, Marth's/Lucina and Meta Knight). i mean, the are botha a timed and sweet spot meteor (if there just a sweet spot meteor, the are in a really crap place. Seriously, I can begin to tell you the number of times I though I would spike be end up saving my opponent!

I'm a big fan of Robin and Awakening, so I come by this thread quite often. He's also one of my secondaries, too!

I've been able to use it to gimp some recoveries and I've seen the middle part of Elwind spike enemies before. I think it comes out around Robin's just as the move is being used?

Yeah, I like Awakening's artwork, too. That's funny, because I see a lot of veterans of the series complaining that it's "too anime-like" (even though older FE games based themselves on the older anime style that was popular at that time, heck, even some of the older artists are mangaka. And that's because I'm not even argumenting that anime merely means "animation" in japanese)

Supports to be decided, though I see her supports being slower-moving a la Lon'qu (except without the fear of the opposite gender). If you don't know what I mean- some characters take quicker to support with certain other characters, but some, like Lon'qu and Donnel, are slow with everyone.

Also, out of all the "lousy t-shirt" shirts, this one actually makes the most sense, since giving villagers stuff and getting shirts is part of the game.

I still haven't beaten Lunatic plus, I plan to do it sometime soon after I do a solo or family only run on regular lunatic. Also I generally never try to elwind spike because I think I've only actually managed to successfully use it once online, and it was not even on purpose. Same with Lucina, I can't consistently use spikes. Also those I'll make a man out of you picture are hilarious.

I've never married Gangrel, but I considered it once just to marry Morgan to Lucina for some sort of amusing fanfic possibility. His dialogue on sparkly tiles and such with Morgan is actually pretty amusing, plus Morgan looks cute with his hair color.

I've never seen the Gangrel support but I kind of liked the Walhart and Robin support. I've only seen the F!Robin and Walhart support though.

I have to admit, when I first played, I was surprised Robin married and had a kid.

Also, to continue this, my preferences:

Storywise= Not sure... Frederick with the disdain he has for Robin at first is interesting, obligatory Chrom or Lucina of course for the changed story dialogue... I'm also a sucker for Lon'qu because in the Robin ending there's the added drama of him losing a girl he's close to TWICE now (until she comes back, obviously). I'm also a sucker for Yarne (and I guess Panne falls under this, but Yarne and his fear of extinction hit me more) because their supports are adorable, Taguel Morgan is fun, and the idea of Morgan having to defend his cowardly father who is worried about now protecting his son to preserve his species amuses me. I'd argue Yarne/Robin is my favorite Robin pairing. Oh, and Robin/Tiki because fellblood mixing with the actual divine dragon's voice amuses me (and Manakete Morgan!). Yen'fay/Robin is another one I'm interested in because of the idea of Yen'fay finally finding something to keep him going and again, having to deal with the loss of Say'ri where he came from and Robin's temporary loss. Shame he's recruited so late.

Gameplaywise= Any third gen Morgan is a beast. Some standouts are Robin/Lucina (Aether Morgan!), Chrom!Inigo/Robin, Ricken!Laurent/Robin, Vaike!Gerome/Robin, Robin/Nah, and Vaike!Yarne/Robin. For first gen, Chrom/Robin for broken fun times Lucina, I've heard Robin/Nowi can lead to a good Morgan, Walhart/Robin for his special ability, and Robin/Aversa for Shadowgift Morgan.

100x Like this! even if it was just a weak meteor, i would love it. Though i also wouldn't mind if the sped up Robin's walking and running speed...

One would think that, being a WIND-based spell, Elwind would send the target in whatever direction it's traveling in. I actually don't mind Robin's slow speed too much, though it does kinda hamper his approaches.

Ah GODS, this happens to me all the time with Mega Man's meteor and in fact other characters meteors as well. Seriously, they are so awkward (particularly ones like the Pit's, Marth's/Lucina and Meta Knight). i mean, the are botha a timed and sweet spot meteor (if there just a sweet spot meteor, the are in a really crap place. Seriously, I can begin to tell you the number of times I though I would spike be end up saving my opponent!

I'm not sure if I would say Hard Knuckle is an awkward meteor, but I get what you're saying. Luigi is another one of those characters with an awkward meteor, with the target needing to be within Luigi's entire frame when using his Dair or else no meteor.

That wallpaper looks really nice, it has a good amount of sparkles. I have heard so many things about Lunatic+ being RNG based, I can't wait to try it out sometime.
