Do you know what the rule-set for the 4v4 tournament is? I'm curious on how they differ from the usual 2v2. I also recall some of us discussing a while ago how Robin would fare in squads and the consensus, ironically, was not favorable. Granted, this was before the patch that added more 8-player smash stages but I don't see that consensus changing unless, out of the blue, friendly-fire was set off which would be pretty cray-cray.
It looks like it's the general rules we would use for 2v2 expect changing the stock count; 2 stocks 6 minutes with Team Attack on. Added a few more stages to our list, but other than that it looks like a very similar ruleset.

Team Attack on? That sounds like a recipe for lightly salted insanity.

Did they provide reasoning, or just rules?

It allows for pretty advanced tactics, like having an allied Lucario heal a Ness by using PK magnet, and Fox/ Pit reflector BS.
It also helps with allied recovery, so if someone's too far to recover, a team mate can deliberately hurt you so you get extra jumps and another up B.

Only 2 stocks for team? That's interesting. I thought the norm was 3 stocks? Although, I suppose with the crazy amounts of side tournaments happening that day, 2 stocks is wise.

Ah, that makes sense. See, this is what I get for not playing doubles often.

@ redfeatherraven redfeatherraven For the most part, team attack is in doubles because teammates being entirely intangible would create so much bad gameplay. For instance, one person could grab someone and somebody else can just jab them infinitely for free unless they are interrupted or they fail. When it's the Ice Climbers it's fine, but if it's like two Foxes who already have amazing kits outside of this, they don't need that.

Without friendly fire in doubles, we'd never have stuff like this:

In all regions across all versions, team attack is standard since it just produces the best games. It's even more important in squads (4v4) since otherwise isolating somebody, grabbing them, and just jabbing them would be easier if you have characters like Rosalina to bodyguard.
When does a Fire Emblem game ever have a weak soundtrack? :p
Shadow Dragon. It's strange, because FE11 has a worse soundtrack than FE1. Well, I suppose that's not that strange given remakes in other series have managed to do the same. With FE11, it's as if they wanted awful presentation on purpose.
Hey, hate to be the guy to just bust in and ask a random favor, but does anyone have the official art render for the pink Robin? That'd be awesome.
Nah. We'd love for you to be the guy. We'd love to help you out with whatever we can.

And that would be an incredible shame.

Right after I figure out where my jaw dropped off to, I could watch that for hours.

So many edits. I want to choke these tag errors right now I swear.

Wait, did those Foxes Firefox into each other so they could Firefox again?
That is exactly what they did.

Here, S2J (Falcon) saves Fiction (Fox) with his dying breath:

Friendly-fire is also used to save Jiggs after a rest.

Friendly fire could be very beneficial to pairs like Ness and Robin, too. the infinite healing potential it has if given the chance.:troll:

Could you elaborate on this? After I'm finished with this current run of Sacred Stones (Tana is a monster. Promoted, Level 1 with 18 STR, 20 SKL, 22 SPD, 12 DEF) I plan on playing Shadow Dragon, Gaiden, and New Mystery. I can just take a look at SD and see that it doesn't look pretty, but is the music poor too?

I don't think Robin would be the best healing partner for ness. First of all Robin's moves have limited amount of uses and arc fire only heals around 3% if I recall correctly. I guess you could just spam thunder but the point still stands. Having a ness + ness duo would probably be better for healing. If you spaced it properly I think it would not be too hard to do the ganon f-smash plus nosferatu.

The music while you're on the map, looking down on your units isn't bad at all. I personally was fine with a lot of Shadow dragon's music like "a hero's destiny" and "For liberty"
The problem is the music it plays in the middle of a battle animation. It's the same throughout the entire game, and it's kind of... terrible.
Badadabap-pap-pap-pap, badadada-bup-bup-bup.
Rinse and repeat.

Enough for me to not want to have battle animations on ever.

Edit - To clarify, the music in this game is overall weak. At best, it is tolerable; maybe the main theme and another track are okay. The rest... eck.

Wait a sec, It actually gets marginally better later on... the parts you never hear because the battle finishes. And don't forget clash of two virtues, the only (memorable in good way) battle theme in the entire game... which plays exactly twice... in the entire FRIGGIN GAME!

I was going to put my picks of my favorite FE songs, but I'd probably just repeat what others have already said.
Anyway, if you like Sacred Stones ost. You'll love this.

Oh, are we doing favorite FE songs? I've only payed Awakening and 7, so it'll only be from that sadly (though Power-Hungry Fool in Brawl... Wow).
And of course, Why Did This Not Make It Into SSB4 Seriously.
Have I mentioned that Awakening has one of my favorite game soundtracks ever?
Not as much since I'm still learning about the game as I play it.
Of course, but it is genuinely awesome.
Technically not introduced here, but I love their take on it.
Also the version of Requiem that plays when Ninnian dances (I can't find it).

And even trying to find the songs I liked, there were a few from parts I haven't reached yet that hit me, so another great soundtrack.

I-I, I don't get it :urg:......
We live in a world where who we wish to bone is determined entirely by who we are standing next to when the [undead hordes/cult of zealots/rabid bandits/conquering armies/dark dragon god of the apocalypse/cannon fodder] comes knocking.

As the tactician you are directly responsible for whom is standing next to whom.

Ergo you have been responsible for the sacred duty of Dr. Love from the very first map.

I was going to let someone else break it down, but I was in the neighborhood.

That 8-bit remix is genius.

For shame.. Robin clearly is the matchmaker of the FE universe.

Now all we need is the song from Fiddler on the Roof, 'Matchmaker make me a match' with only Fire Emblem women.

Yeah, I love these vids ;p Though this one seem to be a bit off sometimes. It's still very nice, though.

Then there's this Xenoblade 8 bit music that's pretty good.

As for my favorite FE music...

<--I like this one because for some reason it reminds me of Megaman

Playing FE: Awakening now and I cant decide into what I should reclass Lucina into. Any tips? Her mother is the avatar.
Depends. Who is she going to marry? Mine married Laurent, and I ended on Dark Flier.

I suggest going Dark Flier at least once for Galeforce. The trick of Awakening is to cycle through some classes to get their abilities.

I don't know who she is going to marry to be honest, probably Inigo or Owain but that's not certain.

Tactician-Mercenary-Hero-Dark Flier-Paladin-Greatlord.
or...
Tactician-Pegasus Knight- Dark Flier-Hero-Great Lord-Grandmaster.
Lucina hits hard as a lead unit, you want veteran for double Exp, Sol for healing, and probably Galeforce for flexability. Ignis is good, but not neccesary, but Aegis is useful too. It's a toss up there.
Breaker skills are always useful, and you may want to toss in sword faire or lance faire so modify the build if you want.
