"It is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you will not be imperiled in a hundred battles; if you do not know your enemies but do know yourself, you will win one and lose one; if you do not know your enemies nor yourself, you will be imperiled in every single battle."

Yeah.. I'm a big fan of 'The Art of War"....
You forgot "If fighting is sure to result in victory you must fight."

Sun Tzu said that.

And I'd say he knows a little more about fighting than you do pal, cause he invented it.

And then he perfected it so that no living man could best him in the ring of honor.

Aerial Arcfires are like the best thing since canned bread. Is it weird that I rarely ever use Nosferatu in my Smash battles?
I've only used it a few times, mainly because it can be a pain to connect, and it usually doesn't heal that much when I use it.

And I love Arcfire. It brings back memories of using PK Fire with Lucas in Brawl. I also adore Elwind. It's so fun hitting opponents with the air. I'm finally getting Thunder down, too, and it's so satisfying to connect with Arcthunder or Thoron.

I use Nosferatu every now and again. It's a great way to stay alive just that taaaad bit longer to give you an edge over your enemy. However, it's pretty rare to get into a situation where you can use it safely, so it doesn't happen every match.

Robin's Nair is a godsend against Little Mac. Has the perfect knockback and trajectory to keep chasing Mac in the air until he can't recover with Jolt Haymaker.

I've actually managed to use Nosferatu quite a few times. It's definitely not easy to land, but you do have opportunities to use it (I explained one possible Nosferatu tactic in the last page). When it actually works, it's pretty effective at keeping Robin alive a little bit longer than usual, and even a little extra time can make quite a difference.

I rarely use Nosferatu. I don't find myself behind the opponent a lot so there are very little opportunities for me to use it. I mostly use Thunder and Arcfire to be quite honest. I am having trouble using his smash aerials with the Levin Sword.

You don't use it when you're behind, you use it when you're AHEAD.

They just died, you're at 90, they're at 0.

Tasty, TASTY healing.

What's everybody's opinion on SH LSDair, by the way? It kinda reminds me of Shorthop Marth Dairs from the past, but without the good horizontal coverage. It might be pretty good on people stuck in Elfire, since it probably sets up a LSUair afterwards.

I have trouble hitting it but when I do it's very juicy. When I use LS I tend to use for LS F-smash OOS punishes or set up for LS Uair airdodge baits or reads off of rolls with LS D-smash.

Just more of a general couple of questions, but does anyone have any tips for edge guarding with Robin effectively, and what exactly beats someone just holding on the ledge instead of making a recovery of any sort?

It has too much landing lag to be safe, but it can be a decent oos option or a mixup.

Personally ive been playing way more lucario and pikachu than robin lately due to how much trouble the 3ds controls are giving me with robin. Still maining him for sure, but prob wont do much robin playing until wii u version comes out and i can safely space my levins

also: how i feel as little mac when playing against people who camp

Hey fellow tactian's. I have a question that need answering. I was wondering, why do people think Little macs Aerials are just down right rubbish. Yes, I know, there not the first thing that you should use when approaching, but at high percents, that can be good for getting the opponent out of your face, especially his Nair. Also, I was wonder what your opinions are on Robins customs and which ones you use. For me, I can't decide, I am thinking 1231, maybe, I don't know. Also do you guys also know why people are dislike the mii swordsman, cause I quiet like them.

Nobody said they were that bad, it's just that you should only use them situationally, for example he can combo down throw into up air pretty nicely and you don't really get punished since it's really fast, and his Nair is great for people trying to approach you from below.

I haven't even unlocked them yet, i've been trying to master Cpt. Falcon mainly.
Robin's, to me, were the most disappointing so, in my opinion, you're not missing much, they're pretty underwhelming

Oh, sorry, didn't know, I have unlock them all without even trying (though trying to get Link's and sonic's is a little hard :glare:) Yeah, I am trying to get pick up a couple of new characters to main and have as secondaries, so far they include, mains:4link::4robinm::4tlink::4sonic:(maybe:4lucina:), secondaries :4pit::4falcon::4lucina:(if not main):4miisword:(if included into tournments), considering:4pacman::4kirby::4littlemac::4fox:.

Edit: @ NonSpecificGuy NonSpecificGuy thanks for the likes but I found Robin pretty fun actually, different to what I expected, but still fun

Indeed

And as you pointed out in your healing thread, Nosferatu scales so you gain quite a significant amount of health at high %. I've managed to heal myself out of KO range a few times, which clutched me some matches.

I was talking about Robin's custom moves, I enjoy Robin as a fighter but they have pretty underwhelming custom specials.
Yeah, most players customs are underwhelming, e.g. Toon Link (I'm looking at you Fire Arrows! I wanted Young link's or PM's, not this weird thing)

Actually, i've grown to appreciate Robin's custom move. Fire Wall is awesome (I seriously wish it was the default), and Goethia/Ranged Nosferatu are fun, and landing a Thunder+ Thoron is the most satisfying thing ever.

In grab range
I play way more defensive, go for dash grabs, charge a little, arkfire and am most of the time in the air, doing follow up combos. Arkfire is the best thing ever created I have to say.

I hit it most of the time while beind a liitle bit in the air, mostly a follow up when my enemy is out of range from grabbing.

Quick question after watching videos- Does aerial Arcfire go down further if you hold the button? I notice the player had no problems having it hit the ground when I always have it disappear 2 inches too soon.

Out of pity, Robin decided to let Chrom join Lucina for the Monster Hunter crossover while he continued to hone his skills for the good of the Shepherds.

Actually, the Chrom and Lucina outfits for MH4 have been known for quite a while now. I think they where announced relatively shortly after Awakening's release.

Hey, at least Chrom got his chance, if in a different game.

Chrom's face looks kind of dead there...

Just like his appearance in Robin's victory animations. Did Robin turn him into a zombie after killing him in the future timeline, and we never noticed it this whole time?

Not really. It's a rather risky move given the amount of time your in that animation if you don't connect with your opponent. However, when you do connect, it's very satisfying and can change the odds in your favour or at the very least, allow you to survive longer if you have a high percentage. I've actually started to incorporate Nosferatu in my play style some more given that it can be an effective edge guard strategy in conjunction with the Levin Sword. And for the most part, many of my opponents don't except me to use it so it catches them off guard usually. It can be especially useful if they're rolling around like crazy and you happen to catch them when they're rolling all of the place. Make's them look rather foolish.

You're punish bait if you miss.

That's why it's rarely used, but there is satisfaction in landing it.

Actually those outfits are for Monster Hunter Frontier G for the Wii U and at the moment it's only a Japan exclusive game. I do hope they add these outfits for MH4U, especially with all the Nintendo related outfits they are adding into the game, the latest being Samus and Zero Suit Samus. I'd be very surprised not see the Chrom and Lucina outfits in the game, either at launch or sometime down the road as DLC.

Exactly! When you pull it off, you feel like a champ and when you fail, you feel like a chump more or less. :p

Oh, I did not realize they where working on a WiiU exclusive game, too. Frankly, Monster Hunter Tri and 3 Ultimate for WiiU both looked like kinda lazy ports from their handheld counterparts, graphics-wise, and from those images I'd say the trend continues.
With an emphasis on 'look', I quite enjoy(ed) both games.

From what I've heard, it's an entirely different from MH4U and it's on a variety of systems like the Wii U, PS3, Vita and Xbox 360. However, it's only exclusive to Japan and it may stay that way forever unfortunately. Yeah, MH3U on the Wii U felt rather lazy in terms of the graphics, which is a shame although not entirely uncharacteristic of Capcom. They did practically the same thing with Resident Evil: Revelations which they ported it over from the 3DS to the Wii U. It looked better but it could have looked MUCH better graphically if they actually put some more time and effort into it instead of lazily porting it with an extra feature here and there. But even though MH3U looks kinda "meh," I still enjoyed the crap out of it! ^_^

Nah, Chrom stayed dead after Robin killed him, so they just brought in a life-sized Chrom replica to replace him in Smash. That's why he looks so lifeless. :troll:

They probably got it from Frederick.
