It's amazing that he's a starting character. It's such an appropriate spot for him. Personally, Marth and Robin would be perfect, since one is the swordsman mascot and the other is the magic user. Lucina is the "stronger swordsman" while Ike is a different type of swordsman. Now that the three starters are who they are, Ike's just a nice bonus character.
Did you guys think that Robin would be unlockable? Who did you think would be the FE starters?
I'm honestly used to the pre-release characters all being starters (aside from the 3rd parties last game), but I got suspicious when it seemed like there were a ton on the starting roster. Oddly enough, most of the characters I thought would be unlockable (Luigi, Shulk, etc.) were not. I did think Robin would be a starter, though.
My situation makes me more excited for the 3DS version- I live 4 hours away from my Wii U and will get a lot of mileage from my 3DS. Still, the Wii U version will be outstanding and I can't wait to play it on holidays.
This is the situation that I'm in, though maybe I can bring a tv and Wii U up to school after the holidays. Still, the 3DS is more convenient for me overall. I've also admittedly been wishing for some sort of portable Smash since the Melee days.
This alt should have been a thing:
Also this:
YES AND YES. A Morgan alt for both genders would have definitely made me main male Robin. I really like male Morgan. And after seeing the trailer, I was a little bummed Robin couldn't keep his/her hood up. It just looks so cool. I'd also love more variety in Robin's colors. They all just have hair that matches the coat except the defaults and that one male Robin one with the black hair.
Honestly the modes in Smash 3DS are far more of a letdown than the roster.
- No Adventure Mode
- Classic Mode taking the gimmick Adventure Mode should've had (branching paths)
- Classic Mode NOT being an Arcade Mode (like in Melee)
- No traditional Target Test
- Smash Run being somewhat disappointing in general
- All-Star being back and LONGER THAN EVER.
- No Events. Would've been perfect for Smash 3DS.
- NO SPECIAL BRAWL. NO SPECIAL BRAWL.
The worst part is, I was really hoping Smash 3DS would have a strong selection of single player modes while the Wii U would have stronger multiplayer modes.
Honestly, I didn't expect as much in terms of modes, but I would have taken an Adventure Mode, target test, events, or even Special Brawl (which I did expect) over Smash Run. Good thing I love Smash's normal old mode and Classic looks fun, but I don't see me doing Smash Run that often.
I'd honestly rather have a Melee-style Adventure Mode with the side-scrolling themed stages. However, I'd love to see more of them to match different series. The Smash Run enemies could have gone there, like the Mario and Zelda enemies in Melee. And the final boss could maybe vary on which series your fighter is from.
Least favorite Fire Emblem Awakening character. I promise not to judge or curse your very existence.
Go.
Excellus or whatever his name is, easily. Just not interesting and not pleasant to look at. He took away time that I would have rather seen dedicated to fleshing out other villains. If only recruitable units count... I'm not sure. I guess Say'ri? I don't hate her, she just stands out to me the least. Walhart was my least favorite, but he grew on me after I recruited him
because he's a total tank in battle because I found some of his Barrack dialogue entertaining. Meh as a villain but amusing as an ally.
If we're talking mission-wise, GEROME. I hate "defend the villager" missions, and that was the hardest for me. I finally got it down once I grinded up Cherche and Cordelia, but even then I was worried. Thank goodness for Rescue working on allies. Gangrel's was annoying too, even if I like the character, just because Chrom kept taking him out. Severa's wasn't too hard for me somehow.
I always paired him with Nowi since they both act like little kids :x
Ditto. I love their supports. Ricken is one of my favorites, actually. I can see why others dislike him, though. I find him adorable. I'm just a sucker for Mage/Witch types, though.
Captain Falcon. He'd should be a Spotpass character. Most broken Morgan ever.
I am working on Morgan's supports with Owain and I think he actually references Falcon Punch... Or it's a weird coincidence. ("Flamingo Punch!")
So it's like this, I was "off" work ages ago.
But this started playing:
And I don't want to leave the computer because I don't want to stop listening to it, and thus I can't stop working.
I'm suffering inside.
<--- Right now, only for this one time, this is my face of indescribable pain.
This will be a rare instance where I actually have a vocal track on a stage as my most-used.
I liked Tharja when I first recruited her, but then I kind of forgot about her... I don't hate her, but she's not one of my top favorites either. In terms of Dark Mages, I MUCH prefer Henry.
