Just gonna yank these out here.

* Mickey Mouse is Japanese Mickey Mouse. Let's be fair. Kingdom Hearts, natch.
* I'm still wary of the prospect of newcomers on the Wii U version or DLC to either. Sure, I'd like to see it, it just seems unlikely. I would also suspect Roy, Young Link, and Pichu would be about as likely to appear as Ridley. And on that.
* Tower of Smash leak is a load of crap. Which is a shame, because on its face, as a mechanic, the tower itself is a phenomenal idea. Honestly, if just that part was true, I'd be fine. It's all the rest of the leak that smells like bull****. But that implies the whole of it is, more than the parts.

Okay. :ness2:

Ach. Still feels weird. Think I'll just type it out. But new tool aquired, that's good news.
I don't think DLC will be a thing at all, but I wouldn't write things off in absolutes. We're talking about a guy that added in the Miis after saying in an interview that it would be unlikely that they would appear.

I take death in Awakening about as seriously as I take death in the Dragon Ball series.

Everyone lives! Yippie! :4dedede:
Except Android 16. Because no one cares about robots.

Other M needs to learn a lot more than just that. Otherwise I agree.

Have we decided which one of these heads means "I agree," yet? I keep using that phrase, and I'm lazy.
Yeah, OM does have much to learn, but Samus is the main complaint about it, so hey.

Yoshio Sakamoto wrote the story for OM so it would be best title in the franchise from the narrative perspective and to make Samus a truly developed, rounded and sympathetic character. It was stated in interviews that he even cried when he saw some of the scenes of the game for the first time(wat), showing how emotionally invested he was in the project.

We all know where it went from there.

*True true. Mickey Mouse is pretty hard to touch in being recognized. Japan does have its own Disneyland, after all.
*I agree with you, to be honest. We've had no proof of any DLC or linking unlocking characters. The latter in particular seems odd since people who only get one version will miss out on characters. Yeah, Pokémon does something similar, but you can still trade for what you're missing. The only thing that keeps me from writing off DLC is that MK8 did it, but even then, I don't see it happening for a long while. Plus, it'd be difficult to make sure each new character is balanced and so forth.
*I agree on the leak, it's just that last time I suggested that, I got roasted and labeled as a Mewtwo/Ridley hater even though I have nothing against either. It just seems too good to be true, and I haven't seen any proof for it outside of a post on 4chan. At least the "true" leak had pictures to go off of and eventually video. I honestly would love something like Tower of Smash in the Wii U version though. Either way, it'll definitely get its own "adventure" mode.

I think people are just determined to not give up on their favorite character. Nothing wrong with that- I'd leap at the idea of any of my wishes that didn't make it getting in- but I'd rather be cautious and be pleasantly surprised then get overhyped and be disappointed or assume something that might not be true is for sure.

They have any number of excuses for a character still existing. The justification isn't any better than "lol nah im okay".

I can only stab someone so many times before they die. :4robinf:

Which is why I carry my SpotPass! :4robinm:

Cervantes is cool, but you know who should've been a Spotpass character?

Mustafa.

Rather, there just should've been a way to recruit him during his chapter because I always feel really bad killing him...

I suppose that's kinda the point though

If I could add one thing to Awakening, it would be playable Soldiers. :104:

I almost forgot about him. I felt bad for him too.:( He was probably the best antagonist in the game character-wise, or at least close to it.

Playable soldiers?
Sure, you can have playable soldiers.
But you can only have the Awakening soldiers who are an un-upgrade-able class that go up to level 30, can only use spears, and can only walk five spaces as opposed to the normal six. So they're basically villagers, except they probably don't learn any skills either.
But, you know, whatever you want. :troll:

I'm so baffled on how we got so many unnecessary spotpass units, yet Mustafa would have been most liked by people. So sad.

Soon just 2 days left for me. Whenever I hover over Robin's portrait in my demo's menu, can't help but feel immense excitement.
The guy's so close. :4dedede:

Oddly enough, Robin's portrait does the same exact thing for me and I do not even like Male Robin. I am more excited to try my clone army, but I cannot help but feel even more excited when I highlight his beautiful and immaculate portrait.

It's amazing that he's a starting character. It's such an appropriate spot for him. Personally, Marth and Robin would be perfect, since one is the swordsman mascot and the other is the magic user. Lucina is the "stronger swordsman" while Ike is a different type of swordsman. Now that the three starters are who they are, Ike's just a nice bonus character.

Did you guys think that Robin would be unlockable? Who did you think would be the FE starters?

I was operating under the assumption that it was unanimously agreed that he would be an unlock-able character. I suppose that would be too mainstream though. Toon Link and Luigi are starters while Wario is an unlock-able, I have no clue what to expect from unlock-able characters anymore.

The only one I expected to be unlockable was Lucina, and maaaaaaaybe Ike. Robin and Marth represent two core aspects of the series fairly well, so them inherently being there just makes sense for me. Ike is a toss-up, because I always imagined him as being a beast that has to be tamed.

I feel like I'm not the only one overly hyped about Smash 3DS. I'll get it day one, sure, but I'm much more looking forward to the Wii U version. Better for multiplayer and better for spectators IMO. Better controls, too.

The only game on the horizon that interests me right now is Fantasy Life.

You can be a wizard? That game is legit.

I am somewhere in the middle regarding the 3DS version of Smash. I just want to get practicing to be honest, but I am not to fond of the notion that the 3DS version exists either. It will be good fun, but I am biding my time for the Wii U version.

Looks cool, it's like a mix of Animal Crossing and a typical J-RPG, really digging the artstyle.
Personally i'm looking forward to the new Zelda, or at least whatever infromation we might get.
Oh and also Smash Bros. for Wii U, though i think i might be the only one :dazwa:

My situation makes me more excited for the 3DS version- I live 4 hours away from my Wii U and will get a lot of mileage from my 3DS. Still, the Wii U version will be outstanding and I can't wait to play it on holidays.

At the very least, it is Smash. Theoretically if you play through all the modes once with every character, you'll probably get more value than some of the games marked at the same price. Even after the Wii U version comes out, maybe it will be fun enough to play it on the go every now and then.

It's a game that isn't ever complete until we get Mewtwo and Ridley in the fray. :4duckhunt:

I'm excited on SSB4 in aspect of using it as a training ground for just about everything it offers, towards the bigger Wii U-version. Also for getting first tastes of this gen's Smash anyway. I can understand people waiting for the Wii U-version though.

No, let's not go there again! :4jigglypuff:

Another reason that I'm looking forward to the 3DS version is because it'll let me play SSB with friends who go to college in other states at any time. Yeah, the Wii U version will have online too, but you can't be a handheld when it comes to ease of use between young adults spread across a country.

I won't be getting a Wii U for a while, so I'll be satisfied with the 3DS version.

Living almost the entire year away from home makes me prefer a handheld. Smash 3DS is a wish come true for me. I always wanted a handheld Smash Bros.

I would be more content if Smash Bros had a roster of 30 well-designed characters than the boatload we got with this entry.:040:

Another great thing about portable Smash is playing it while traveling. As a kid, I had so many long trips that I wish I would have had Smash Bros. Still, the 4 hour train ride home with Smash Bros will be great.

Gotta fill that roster somehow. :4darkpit:

Anyway, I dunno about you guys but back when I Awakening was still a big thing (okay it still is relevant), a lot people in Tumblr drew themselves in Robin's tactician robes due being MU in the game. I managed to join to the fad too.

Really loved Excalibur and Killing Edge as my signature weapons in the game, aside from spamming Bolgagone and Katarina's Bolt.

I seem to have cut down playing games during trips to other places myself- for some reason I enjoying listen to music more. Odd.

Perhaps, but I can already think of a multitude of ways the characters could have vast improvement, in the way of design. Especially with custom special moves and stuff.

Robin is a character who I would not change directly. Could use some more palettes and perhaps UI elements, though.

Because that's the time I take between where I'm currently living and home. lol

Really, I'm just happy a handheld Smash exists now. (I do admit haracters like :4robinm::4lucina::4darkpit: are icing on the already delicious cake, though.)

I think that people got over-excited about custom moves. Yeah, they're interesting, but people wanted bigger changes. Give Pikachu Iron Tail and Surf and Hidden Power... but all these sorts of things would require new animations for all of the characters and then at that point, why not just make a bunch of characters. Instead, subtle attack changes allow players to tailor their own characters slightly while maintaining animations. I like how it's so hard to choose what custom moves to use just because each one seems to have its own advantages and disadvantages.

True, I would have liked more variety, but something would have had to have given (like the relase date). My one critique about custom moves would be that they should have given the clones custom moves from the start, but then again, some Marth fans would be put off if Lucina suddenly couldn't damage with her Up B.

Yep! I leave campus at 4 pm and I'm back home by 8 pm. It's great because class ends at 12:30 pm on Thursdays and I have no class on Fridays.

Great taste in characters. All three of them are my favorites (along with :4lucario: and :4pit:)! I would have enjoyed Smash Bros 3DS nonetheless if none of tem got in (I still would love Pit, Marth, Palutena, and Rosalina), but these guys are just what I wanted.

Inb4 they smash it out above Koopalings' room and :4lemmy:asks :4ludwig: what is going on. :smirk:

More on Lucina, a lot times I see a shaken yet very adamant young woman which IMO is realistic outlook on how she'd take the events of her future up from her childhood. It also makes her really human.
I think it's most prominent proofs to this is the way she's portrayed and animated in her cutscenes. Not even tries to appear pretty, just really serious and actually younger than her character portraits make her to be.

Really punctuates on her being a young girl from a messed-up future above all things she is.
Can't help feeling connected to her a lot in them.

(Maybe I need to marry her with Robin in my next playthrough, feels abound)

On Owain, I personally liked their support conversations- they have a nice dynamic. Sad that Owain isn't an Assist.
