Also I can't be the only one thinking it's a bit too early to discuss balance when most of the world doesn't even have the game yet, can I?
People are speculating the qualities of characters. This is 100% fine, so long as they go into it knowing just that: It's speculation. No one will go into it raw saying someone is actually going to be a bad character, yet. It's all riding off of perception. It is an integral element of the unified learning process.

After reading Hong's post, oh God. I'm just feel like someone just died right in front of my eye's. I reckon as a whole, FE:A's story isn't the best at at certain individual parts, god (Robin's decision at the end of the game). However, in my opinion, nothing can ever beat fi's death in SS. It's just, through the whole game you got this annoying ***** and then suddenly at the final part of the game where it is all celebration galore, Fi tell's you she is going to sleep forever. It just broke my heart, I couldn't stop crying. And that music, that music.
Spoiler tags or at least mention that there is a spoiler for a game that we aren't actively discussing pls.

I didn't play through the whole game, but I did watch a playthrough of it and was more touched by (spoiler incoming)

Impa's death, but then again, Fi's scene was pretty sad.

He's at least in Hyrule Warriors, look to the bright side---

Also @ Hong Hong , where did my "Visual Details on Robin's Moves"-thread disappear to? Did you archive it?

I wanted to put it back on work after getting the actual game for better screenshot snapping from both SSB4 and FE-Awakening to complete it, hahah- (I guess tried to avoid double posting to announce that)

I actually have forgotten that scene, I was to busy celebrate at my victory and being absolutely shocked when I found out that he was SPOILER Demise's Sword

However, can you agree with me in that Fi's gratitude is one of the saddest and most mysterious songs in that and game and the entire Zelda series (+ plus he last scene? no?)

But oh GOD, Impa's was and absolute shock!

So is Fi, =D.

...

Now I want her as a playable character in Smash for some reason. (WITH THEME)

Well, I guess it does, but being told about it doesn't, I mean, I know he's in Hyrule Warriors.
But that's not Smash.
I guess so - but I don't wanna think Smash as some end-all to anything of a "playable appearance". Hyrule Warriors is about as big love-letter and goes farther and wider with the Zelda-games it represents, and it looks beautiful while doing it.

I guess just take what ya can have now, it's a nice and nice consolation price. I guess wish we could equip Assists to help us when we wish. That'd make for them being mere deconfirmations in living form at worst.

I just wish Sakurai cared about Zelda at all. Or DK for that matter (not that I care about Donkey Kong, but I know at lot of people do).
Or at the very least was willing to show for it instead of picking every Mario character he could think of. Though that may have not been his fault.

Three new Assist Trophies and a dozen items doesn't help, Sakurai. In fact, I would've preferred Ghirahim was not even a trophy; then I could've had more time to straw grasp for DLC.

I had archived it because I mistakenly thought it was just speculation stuff on a quick overview.

I moved it back, it should be visible again.

It works for both Thoron1 and Thoron2, and it does extra damage/KB if you hold the button.

Thoron2 does 31%~!

You mean "more liked" or "well liked"?
Oh god, yes. Fi is mostly known for being a nuisance and hindrance in Skyward Sword; Ghirahim at worst is regarded as campy or blamed for the removal of Ganondorf or whatever. At best, he's lauded for essentially being a breath of fresh air for the series. From what I understand.
I like both, but one is clearly superior as a Smash candidate.

The guy I read the thing from made it sound like it was some really was super cool visual thing.

I think I might need to just expirence it or see with my own eyes.

Also, can youtell me why you think the spirit track stage will be ban other than it being big blue 2. Because, i mean, that music.

I mean 'more like'. Still, I wouldn't mind Fi in smash, even as an AT. I have actually start to like, more so than navi or midna (though not really, but still close). I think she was intended to be an over protect mother if you look at her character a certain way.

But I want Groose to become loose.

No trophy, no sign of him in Smash 3DS, so far so good for DLC.

Indeed. I loved Miyuki Sawashiro's performance as :4robinf: in Awakening, and I think she did another top-notch job in this game. From what I've heard, she also did one of the voices for :4robinm: in Awakening. To me, she is Robin.
She did not provide any voice for male Robin, but she provided all three of the female voices. The male voices were Yoshimasa Hosoya and Toru Okawa.

That said, I've been in love with her work ever since Tales of Xillia. It's funny going back and realizing she was characters I liked too, like Iwasawa in Angel Beats, Canaan in CANAAN, Akako in Magical Kaito, Kanbaru in the Monogatari series, Cal in Phantom, and Shion in Psycho Pass. It's especially weird since I thought Canaan and Cal were both done by Ayako Kawasumi.

Yup. I am even willing to buy a "Japanese voices" DLC pack should they release it.
Depending on the price, same here.

This thread is basically a dub vs sub argument. It's all preferences.
It's not really an argument if people are just saying they prefer one, though? An argument would be calling someone a casual scrub for liking the English voice, or a weeaboo for liking the Japanese voice.

I want to like every post,
Like no one ever has,
To like them is my real test,
To like them is my cause.

I will travel across the thread,
Searching far and wide,
Each and every post to like,
The power of the like!

On Smashboards!
Gotta like 'em all!
It's you and me,
And liking's my destiny.
On Smashboards!
Oh, you'll answer my friend request,
And the liking will never end.

On Smashboards!
Gotta like 'em all!
Our hearts so true,
Our liking will pull us through,
You like me and I’ll like you,

Funny you mention the Pokemon theme, since PT's trophy description is one big shout out to the anime.

"Pop quiz! What do Misty, Brock, Cynthia, Iris, and Ash all have in common? That's right—they're all Pokémon Trainers! This Pokémon Master in the making is the same. Back in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, he fought to be the very best—like no one ever was. To smash them was his real test—to launch them was his cause!"

Well Ike doesn't make a lot of sense because why would they just switch Ike and Marth's spots from the last game? Now Ikes the secret and Marths the starter? Nah...
Roy is a little more plausible being hes never been a starter and is kind of a fan favorite. But still...
I dunno, I think the roster cuts are becoming apparent - Marth might very well be the only Fire Emblem character we get. Maybe with a Roy, or even Lucina or Chrom alternate costume.
Oh yikes, I was pretty hopeless back then, huh? XD I guess I thought the roster would be around 42, but I was really hoping I could say "Smash has over half a hundred characters!" and I kinda can, if you overlook Zamus, Shiek, and Dr.Mario being existing people on the roster and the Miis as different characters...? Cool how I was sorta right about Robin and Lucina though~

Anyway, how is Robin shaping up to be? Any glaring weaknesses?

May as well link all the Awakening-related trophy content while I'm at it.

Robin (Classic): "This is the male Robin, your avatar in Fire Emblem Awakening. The goal of this adventure doesn't change much because of your gender choice, but Robin's marriage options do. In Smash Bros., Robin brings powerful magic and swordplay to bear. He can exhaust his moves, but they'll be restored over time."

Robin (All-Star): "Robin's magic is powerful, but it has limited uses before needing to recharge. Thunder can be charged in stages, will become Thoron at max charge, and gains damage and speed with its charge. Arcfire creates a flame pillar, perfect for dealing with an edge-clinging foe."

Lucina (Classic): "Chrom's daughter and the future Princess of Ylisse. When she arrives from a doomed future seeking to prevent it from ever happening, she goes by the name Marth before her identity is revealed. She fights much like her adopted namesake, but more than just the tip of her sword is powerful."

Lucina (All-Star): "Lucina's moves are much like Marth's, but there are subtle differences. With Marth, you need to try to hit with the tip of his sword, but Lucina's sword is equally powerful all along the blade. Her Shield Breaker move lets her attack opponents and break their shields at the same time. Charge it fully to shatter shields in one hit."

Chrom: "Prince of the Halidom of Ylisse and descendant of the Hero-King Marth. He leads a militia force called the Shepherds that protects Ylisse. Though he can get reckless when training—things end up broken—he can be counted on in the heat of battle. He and Robin combine their skills in Robin's Final Smash."

Tiki: "Tiki resides in Valm as the Voice of the Divine Dragon. You might be surprised to learn that she is 3,000 years old. As befitting one from the Divine Dragon tribe, she has a very calm demeanor...but every so often, she'll show her youthful spirit."

Owain: "When Owain first runs into Lissa, he introduces himself as her son from the future and proves his royal heritage with the Brand of the Exalt on his arm. He brings theatrics to battle, referring to his weapons with names he's given them and shouting the names of his special moves as he performs them."

Gaius: "Here's a man who really would take candy from a baby. This Ylissean thief is the cool, collected sort, willing to do any kind of job if the price is right. That said, he's got quite a sweet tooth, and keeping up a cool image is really hard if you're always eating lollipops and hoarding sweets. His silly nicknames for people don't help much either..."

Cordelia: "A member of the Ylissean Pegasus Knights. Friends since childhood, Cordelia and Sumia have aged quite differently over time, Sumia's scatterbrained nature contrasting with Cordelia's capable efficiency. She may seem self-assured and ready for anything, but she's tormented by her unrequited feelings for a certain someone..."

Lon'qu: "Lon'qu is a skilled swordsman hailing from the northern nation of Regna Ferox. Trauma from his past instilled a fear of being near women, so he has a very brusque attitude when he has to work with them. He is committed to his art and hones his fighting skills constantly. As a peculiar side effect, he's become very good at potato peeling."

Lissa: "The energetic, playful princess of Ylisse. Lissa wanted to become a member of her older brother Chrom's Shepherds, so she trained as hard as she could to be good enough for them. She may seem naive sometimes, and her attempts at sewing and cooking are a bit dubious, but her love for the people of Ylisse shines through."

Anna: "Anna is a bright, cheerful young merchant, but her true nature is clouded in mystery. She's very fixated on money and is a girl of many talents, but it wasn't until Fire Emblem Awakening that she became a playable character. There's still a lot we don't know about her—she likes to keep everybody guessing."

Inigo: "A mercenary who traveled back in time to save the past. He may be shy, but he still wants to be a dancer like his mother, Olivia. He won't admit it, though—not even to her! Most people see him as a helpless flirt, but the truth is he talks to women to work through his crippling shyness."

Validar: "Validar is the leader of the Grimleal, the religious sect dedicated to the Fell Dragon, Grima. Their goal is to resurrect their fallen master, and Validar himself practices dark magic. In one possible timeline, he uses his own child as a vessel in a spell to resurrect Grima. Fire Emblem Awakening follows a different timeline."

Put down the name (and for Robin & Lucina, the mode you get it from in parentheses) on your list. Hope you don't mind.

I never had a problem with Robin, though. My dream roster featured him and Chrom on it prior to July 14th. I just had the problem with Chrom not getting in.

Always liked Robin. He's a cool guy. I just would have liked it more if Chrom was there too, since they're both awesome.

Anyway, nice trophy descriptions! Maybe Kellam has one, but people haven't found it yet. :p

Not a problem, Folt.

BTW, @ Kenith Kenith

"Link encounters Ghirahim repeatedly during his adventure. Extremely confident, he encourages Link to use his title, Lord Ghirahim, when they first meet. Is he truly powerful, or does he use eloquent words to distract you and gain an advantage?"

Care to retort?

Sakurai, do you even Ghirahim?

Clearly, generic trophy description, you have not played Skyward Sword, as Ghirahim's eloquent words are merely the icing on a very dangerous cake.

Eh, you didn't say anything too bad here. You saved that for the official character discussion thread.

But pretty much everyone jumped on the Robin hype train once he/she was revealed. Robin's just that awesome. :estatic:

I'm personally glad that Lizardon did this. It brings me back to the days when I was arguing that Robin was more likely to get in than Chrom. It's been so long since I've last been here at Smashboards and I don't think I even posted to celebrate Robin's selection. Can't wait to main him!

I'm so glad that the potato peeling made it in.

Also, I wonder what other Awakening trophies are still in the game that we haven't seen. We know that there's a Tharja, which makes 4/7 of the girls that Lucina cosplays as. I wouldn't be surprised to see Sumia, considering her mention in Cordelia's trophy, but Nowi and Cherche seem to overdo it with dragon trophies.

My fingers are still crossed for Freddy-bear.

We scarcely had people willing to come here and actually have a logical discussion on the matter.

Somehow a vast list of objective facts was considered a sign of delirium.
