I almost forgot that Kingdom Hearts 2.8 was thing. A very pointless thing too. It's like they keep putting out some of this stuff as an excuse to not work on KH 3 or something.

Phantom Menace and Clone Wars were indeed kinda bad, though I think that nowadays it's not a bad idea to watch the movies in numerical order for story purposes.

I've heard some say that the first movie is the weakest of the three. They say the pacing is a little odd (some scenes in the desert are too long) and the effects didn't age well (the other movies had a much larger budget). When you view the whole trilogy, however, it all comes together and is much better. Still, you shouldn't be Stockholm Syndromed into watching watching and loving it if you don't want to.

With all the stuff that they've shown about the VII remake, I'm inclined to think that it stole away some of KH3's development time. They confirmed in an interview that they are different teams, but they also said that the VII team did get help from the KH3 one. Sigh... I love FF, but just give me my KH3 already!

Saying you liked the prequels in public(as in with a ****ton of Star Wars fans in theaters, obviously getting ready for The Force Awakens), you'd be dead in seconds

I mean, I thought that Revenge of the Sith was pretty good, and it's not like 1 or 2 were atrocious, just kind of average really and you'd think that they'd be a little better since it's Star Wars and all.

I mean, 1 and 2 were basically lead ups to 3. Of course they will lack in sparkle since they are basically trying to introduce every plot point that leads to Clone Wars and Revenge of the Sith...
Not to mention, iirc George Lucas was fiddling around with the sets for 1-3 a lot...weren't all of the background scenes just green screens during filming?

You do know that Google(and alot if oher websites)aren't allowing spoilers to be leaked out unless they want to lose their Google accounts(including Youtube)?

Isn't that standard for just about any movie? Upload a clip from the movie not shown from the trailers and it will get shut down by copyright.

This time is different, they'll literally shut down/delete your whole account, and then get banned right after. There's also the guy who plays Finn who said he'll kick someone's ass of there's spoilers.

Yeah, it really kind of is. And that's coming from a massive Kingdom Hearts fan.

The only thing remotely worthwile is the BBS 0.2 Aqua story, something that they teased to us all the way back when with the special secret ending for BBS Final Mix.

I enjoy parts of the prequel trilogy (mostly the action and the world-building), and I think some people maybe go overboard with their hatred for them. I mean, they definitely are bad movies with some seriously wooden and emotionless characters, cheesy and hokey dialogue, an over reliance on not-always-the-best CGI, and a storyline that spends far too much time explaining all these random little coincidences that add nothing to the major plot (did we really need to know that Anakin built C-3P0?).

All in all though, I do enjoy watching them every now and again, if not just to MST3K through the terrible dialogue.

If you can forgive one impassioned plea.

I'm not a Star Wars fanatic. I never saw the original trilogy outside of bits and pieces. I saw Episodes 1 and 3, respectively, and thought they were lackluster and OK, respectively. And if you never watch any of that I'll still think you're awesome. Heck, in the prequels' case, you're probably better for it.

But after being hustled to it myself last night, I do think you should go see the new Star Wars film. Not because it's Star Wars. But because it's good.

Not that it's a good Star Wars movie, but because it's a good movie period.

That's the one criteria for my recommendation. It's not about the hype, or the fans, or the crowd. If this were a movie unrelated to Star Wars, a completely new IP, it would still be a good movie.

In the same vein as cautioning against going to see a movie simply because of the hype, I advise not to dismiss this one outright because of the hype.

I ask nothing else and respect whatever decision you make.

The only space battle I recall from Attack of the Clones was with Obi-Wan's Starfighter and Jango Fett's Slave 1.
But then Empire didn't have much that could be called a "big" space battle either.
