Because responding and continuing it shows maturity on your part? Constantly saying you don't care and that you just want to play your own but then participating in these arguments as well, right?

maybe so, but my peach was still a lot better than his. saying peach requires tech skill is ********.

therefore, if adnan was creative, he was creative because he was creative, not because his fingers went fast. That's what brawl is like.
I never actually said that smash needs tech skill. I know you're better than him lol, that much was evident.

He was creative because he could be and because it was fun. I may have driven myself into a corner here. anyway. Brawl doesnt have enough fast stuff, which = predictability, which = not enough mindgames. not that it has none, it's just that there's less of just about everything than there was in Melee. Brawl's got more tripping. more tripping. :(

Anyway, maybe Nate was right when he said this thread is useless now. Jake, you could very well be right about Brawl being the one that comes out on top. If Melee dies, well then...I'll be done with Smash.

but you're wrong though. only a couple characters in melee COULD be fast. so are you saying the rest of the cast is really predictable?

youre only predictable if you're predictable. the game is not inherently predictable.

True, but the game may hinder a player into being predictable. Also I don't think it's true that only two characters in Melee were fast.

Since when were Sheik, Falcon, Marth, or Ice Climbers slow? (just looking at common characters I mean)

I guess I used fast as a relative term.

sheik falcon marth fox falco - theyw ere all characters that were inherently fast without wavedashing or techskill.

ICs - well, if you want creativity, that's some creative ****.

But true speed, the stuff you saw from fox and falco, ... well, it only came from them. But you're right. well, we're both right.

Let's just say this. : The common characters (excluding peach, I guess) were all inherently fast. However, when tech skill popped up, they became even faster. But Fox and Falco outran them all.

lol, ryan when u said that, it reminded me of this match we had ages ago.
Good old camping. Pills vs ice blocks lol.
lol good times. Still that's the longest match I've ever had in a tournament in melee. Still compare that match to brawl, that match took long, but is so much faster-paced than brawl.

I think you're confusing me for Ryan, he's the one that would proclaim "LUCK" in the middle of a battle.

Umm..in fact, I really don't remember complaining about fox. I dealt with him just fine, because I was a smarter player than the fox players for a good amount of time.

Grmo:

Only Fox and Falco in melee could use tech skill to the point where it became creative. I'ms orry, but every character can wavedash, and it essentially became another move that everyone could do.

That's why when you say Brawl loses creativity, you're crazy, because only a very small minority in melee could use tech skill to be creative. I'm slightly exaggerating, but you don't need tech skill in melee to be good at it.
sigh. I said the whole "luck" crap because you would win a game off of a stitchface or bob-omb which you have about a 1/300 chance of pulling it out. You said that my shine spikes were luck, and that tippers were luck, which we intend to get with proper spacing and timing.

also, vwins and some other pros play really fast with every character, so I don't know what you mean by a few characters can be fast.

I've been eying this thread for a while, seeing things go back and forth. I just thought I'd share some extended thoughts of mine on the subject.

After much consideration, I have concluded that Melee is the more competitive game.

HOWEVER, that doesn't mean that I'm going to stop playing Brawl. As many people in this thread have stated, Brawl is a fun game. I've been waiting ages for it, and now that I finally have it, I love it. It's fresh, has a kicking soundtrack, and is still a smash bros game through and through.

It may not have the same competitive edge as Melee, but I think Brawl still has potential as a competitive game. A lot of changes I disagree with have been made, all of which hae already been mentioned, but I'm still convinced that the better player will still win in the end.

I'd love nothing more than for the game I've been waiting so long for and that I'm so obsessed with to be a viable competitive game. But if people keep complaining and abandoning ship, there will be no community left to shape the game into a competitive one. Sure, lame or boring strategies may emerge, but it's up to players who are hopeful about Brawl's competitive future to step up and find ways around those strategies. I don't think we're going to find a new wavedash or anything of that caliber, but if we can keep the metagame from becoming stale, then that's good. If if things start looking bleak, I'll grin and bear it simply because I WANT Brawl to be competitive.

Niagara's having fun with Brawl. The others share the same views as me, mostly. We've all been sticking with Brawl since day 1 (we're not a big enough community to have a dispute anyway :p). We often make jokes about tripping or how uncompetitive Brawl is, but hey, we still play it because we enjoy it. We've learned to get around some pretty annoying playstlyes as a group. And I STILL am the top player in Niagara (big deal, I know), so something must have stuck during the transition. Also, Taco Pizza is very good.

I fully understand anyone's decision to stick with Melee; it's the more competitive game to be sure. But I hope Melee players equally appreciate my willingness to stick with Brawl in hopes of propelling a game I love to a respected level.

On a side note, my Melee skill has gone down since I've been playing brawl :p. Or my friends just got better. But alas.

So yeah, that's about all I wanted to get across. Sorry for taking all of your time, it's just that sometimes I think my opinion is worth something. >_>

PS. Pic is win

It's probably not your friends. I've witnessed this happen at a recent event. Mike knows what I'm talking about.

It's clear to me that GTA not only has problems with smash versions. They also don't know how to use the QUOTE button, and some don't know how to use the EDIT button.

You guys suck!

If Brawl players want, I can try and making a rule to stop that at our biweeklies. lol I personally don't like the game, but I'd still host tournaments for it if we had the people that would come.

I've been meaning to ask you. Who else from NNR has played brawl and enjoys/plays it? What does Noah and Daniel think of it? And like the other older NNR members like Connel, Tyler and Kio? (If they still play Smash)

I talk to a lot of people that play this game. Old friends that played this game with items, casual players, people who played Melee and wanted to be good but didn't want to spend the time and obviously the ones who play Melee competitively. I just like to hear what people think of the game and stuff.
