in Canada we have provinces instead of states.
BC is British Columbia, it's our westmost province.
Ottawa's in Ontario, which is in the middle + a bit to the east.

Canada's too big lol. and yea I wouldn't expect you to know the Cdn provinces / US states / whatnots.
