My lack of attendance Johns relinquish entirely upon hearing that others had fun and played good games.

That's really what it's all about, y'all.

Obligatory Smash related hashtag.

Lol so west mi< melee<brawl

In p:m skills that is
I can't say that for 100% certainty, but probably like 99.99% certainty. Damn we suck. But it's cool, we'll keep playing and (hopefully) get better. Just gotta keep practicing and going to tourneys. Really cool playing with everyone there, even if I was basically passing out all day long.

Grand Rapids area got dunked on. Playing against real melee players makes me realize how far behind the entire P:M scene is over here. Idk full results though. Gonna put in more work though!

Edit: I hit a button and made my text weird. Woops.

That's not surprising.

It was very fun going over to Kzoo, you guys are great to play with.

EDIT: I'm also looking forward to putting our diabolical plan for making Blazblue a side event into motion in the future!

fZK pulling no punches.
Didn't mean it in a bad way. We might seem to know what were doing and get a couple of wins with our janky characters but the reality is that any of us could not handle any half competent Melee player using Fox. I just don't think we're used to playing against Melee high tiers at the level that they've been plying them for years. That's where the improvement needs to come in.

Any PM tourneys this weekend (Aug 3rd)?

I think there's something going down in Muskegon, but is invite only baby.

Us Muskegon goons are holding a sorta party Smash social chill weekend at Chet/Red's (A2 actually owns the place but more people here likely know Chet/Red over A2) and I just sent out the request to the higher ups, being Chet and A2, to see whom I can invite and provide information to. I may return with an update on this matter sometime later today or tomorrow. I'm mentioning this now rather than waiting to get the details back from Chet and A2 so that I can maybe try and stir up some interest/hype. Nevertheless stay hype you goony goons.

Oh no, I totally understand. I was just joking around :p

I realize that we're not going to be able to compete with people that have been competing for much longer than us, especially when they've been playing the best people in their respective areas as well; so their skill levels are far greater than ours.

we need a good spacie player
I dunno, I agree with that to an extent, but we just need good players in general. We won't be getting any better by playing the same people who make the same mistakes again and again. I might have been really exhausted at the Kzoo tourney, but I could still tell when I was making awful approaches and getting punished for them (just couldn't really fix it since I felt like I was about to pass out all day). I also noticed when my opponents would fall into patterns that I would pick up on but do nothing about. We just need to get to the point where we actually do something when we notice those patterns, and it needs to happen soon if we expect to be able to compete against anyone outside of our area in the near future.

So Chet said that it's pretty much chill to invite anyone to his weekend event, which is essentially a party as well, so go ahead and show up if you like. Text me or add me and message on FB if you want or need more details.

Basically the active days of this **** are Friday and Saturday at any/all hours of the day.

OBLIGATORY SAYAKA MIKI IMAGE!

we need a good spacie player
I feel like this is a meaningful point too. The space animals are characters with great moves that lead well into one another as well as serving as good ways in and out of pretty much every instance imaginable in the game's meta mind-game set up. Learning to play as a space animal and utilizing all their tools into working for quick kills and setting up for well timed tricked at higher percentages just makes so must more sense with them than it does with most characters due to how their moves work. When I introduce new players to Smash I advise them to use either Fox or Mario considering that each of their moves are just so simple and right to the point, minus each of the F-airs, that once a casual can see how the moves 'tick' than they've effectively made a good frame of reference for how others moves might work and how to make use of them. Back to my point though... once we can play a space animal and make sense of their tools we'll have better understood the immense significance of figuring out how to work other characters into doing similar things.
I dunno, may be me just thinking funny but I think that this makes a lot of sense; to me at least.
On this same token I still can't for the ****ing life of me figure out how to do D-air, or any arial for that matter, into Shine with Fox and I'd appreciate it if someone could either talk that over with me or point me in the right direction that one needs to go to learn how to do **** because I'm straight up just not doing it right.

August 10th, Juggleguy and myself are having a Co-Tourney that is featuring Brawl, Melee, and Project M in Ann Arbor. Michigan Ranbats 3 and Body City are now conjoined and it is looking to be a Super local.

This tourney is a step in the right direction for Project M since our state currently has 3 P:M scenes. 2/3 scenes will be in attendance and it would be awesome to see you guys there.

I hope to see you all there in 2 weeks. I want to see if this state's P:M scene can finally get together as #OneUnit

Cool. Cool cool cool. I'll try to make it to that. Should easily be able to request that day off to actually go, which would be a nice change.

I'll try to make it on the 10th.

TBird and I will leave around 5PM on Friday. TBird is leaving early on Saturday, I should be able to stay and hitch a ride with BFlake late Saturday.

Anyone coming from west MI that could give me a ride to the tourney on the 10th? Unless FzK is going.

DOUBLE POST SOMEONE INFRACT ME

My summer finals are this week. Body City is on the 10th. I am nearly completely free until the 26th.

So let's do something hype. I'll host a smashfest on the 24th if nothing else is going down. Get drunk and smoke weed.

I've hit up every other West MI avenue for Nerd Rage, but I guess I forgot to here?

I'm driving to Nerd Rage, either in my five-seater wagon or Robjoe's seven-seater van, depending on who we're getting to carpool with us. Seeing as we're not getting anyone to house us, so close to the tournament, we'll be springing for a hotel room on Fri/Sat. At least, probably Saturday.

So anyone from West Mi wanna go with us? I'm taking either of these routes.

Edit: Ori, I'm having enough trouble getting Nerd Rage off. I can't get this weekend off too.
