That render for Shadow just seems off. I can't really say why, but I'm leaning more towards it being fake. If it somehow ends up being real then I definitely won't complain. I'll have gotten exactly what I wanted.

Reddit has decided that these are fake. Maybe they’ve got some points. Homie leaker has claimed to have gameplay footage. If he follows through maybe we’ll definitively see at that point.

guys the thing is that the render for shadow can't be found anywhere else. Honestly it looks pretty darn good. Even for a fake leak if its fake, its a pretty well drawn render of shadow

the leaker doesn't even care anymore. He killed himself by writting "Agnés" instead of "Agnès" and he also killed himself by showing the logo of Rhythm Heaven (which is called Rhythm Paradise in Japan).
So yeah, it's fake.

I support. Shadow's always been one of my favorite Sonic characters and he should definitely be in as an echo of Sonic! By now, I'd say he's a guarantee.

I'm starting to think SEGA only likes Vector. Why would he be the only playable Chaotix member in all the Mario & Sonic titles and Sonic Free Riders? And now Team Sonic Racing.

Vector has that seniority since he's been around since the Sonic 1 days. Probably reminds them of the good ol' days or something.

Seems like there's no logic in their character decisions. Cream got kicked out of Team Rose without a reason, too. Maybe those 3 get together in the end, who knows.

Vector was on Team Rose with Amy and Cream in Free Riders. They keep shuffling the characters around.

The team set ups in the new racing game is really odd, would still like to see Cream and Espio.

But I also find it really weird that they didn't give Shadow his motorcycle again. These games are like the only time it would be appropriate for him to have it.

I'll be legitimately surprised if Shadow didn't make it in as an Echo. He's a very popular character and a perfect fit for the Echo mold, which is why Chrom and Dark Samus got in.

Honestly, I would be super happy if Shadow did make it in just because I always preferred him to Sonic in Sonic Adventure 2. I loved when I would go into the Chao Garden as Shadow and get the best character it was so OOC.

Nevermind the fact I like his style, own his support thread, and main Sonic in Smash 4.

i'll admit, i kinda want that leak with agnes/isaac/ken/etc. to be real
it's a win/win situation for me, to be honest
if it's fake, then the roster hasn't been spoiled for me
if it's real, then yeah the roster's been spoiled for me but at least i can rest well knowing shadow's in the game

I do not want the leak (its not) to be real because tbh most of the renders look like butt. The only decent looking render in the whole thing was the Isaac render. Shadow looked off, Ken looked like he had seen things, Isabelle and Skull kid looked super low effort, Agnes did not look great, and then Lloyd looks like the stuff of nightmares.

it possibly could've just been the way the image was taken, some of the renders in the esrb leak looked pretty crap in the images

ESRB renders looked bad since they were of the 3DS CSS. These do not have that luxury.

Listen I want Shadow, but let's not hop on a trash leak that made some pictures instead of just posting text just to have more hope.

That leak apparently corrected a mistake with the accsent line in Agnes name. Which means he might as well have admited they were fake.

I wasn't buying it anyway. Though I admit, I did enjoy seeing Shadow used in a "leak".

Regardless, I still believe Shadow is pretty likely to get in.

I feel like for Team Sonic Racing, Marine (from Sonic Rush) should've been added in Team Silver since she at least knows Blaze. It'd make a little more sense and that way we could have Vector and Cream placed in their actual teams.

somebody pointed out something that seems interesting. first off, the shadow render looks great. it's the best out of all the renders, but anywho, people are asking why shadow is in a similar pose to sonic. so they think that the leaker just pasted sonic. if he is an echo fighter it makes sense for both to have similar poses. look at pit and dark pits pose. they are actually pretty similar but slightly different. Same with dark samus and Samus. echo means to copy off of someone and it looks like shadow is doing exactly that. similar but different.

I'd disregard all leaks unless they show video footage. Anyone can make mock-ups of the character select or VS screens.

I decided to make a reorganized supporter list now that we are over a hundred, just to make it easier to keep track of who is already on it.

It helped me see that ChocolatGelgato & UberMadman had their names misspelled and Mikegamer0608 was on it twice.

Hello. I would like to be signed up as a supporter.

There is a storied history between me and my thoughts on Shadow the Hedgehog. As a small child, I thought he was SOOOOO cool. As a teenager, he was one of those characters whose "you'll never understand me" level of angst appealed to me. As a young adult, his incessant need to ooze edge at all times was nauseating, and I had a personal vendetta against his inclusion in Smash. Now, as a grown man, I get a huge kick out of him, and would probably get a light-hearted laugh out of his inclusion. I finally came to the conclusion that Shadow was a very real possibility sometime in July, and Richter's addition to the roster only cemented my thoughts on the subject.

Y'all should take that as a compliment, haha. I typically try to keep my mouth shut about it, but I am incredibly fickle about third-parties in Smash, so for me to be looking forward to Shadow's inclusion is a miracle, in itself.

Here's to the Ultimate Life Form being playable in the Ultimate Smash Bros.

Still thinking we'll get Shadow and possibly Tails with Eggman as a boss. Seems odd to skip over Tails for Knuckles for the spot of AT if Shadow got promoted, and that's starting to make me wonder if Tails is going to be a stand alone while Shadow is the echo. But i guess Tails could of had his popularity overshadowed by the other two, so they may go straight for Shadow and Knuckles. And in that case of Shadow getting in alone, there is actually a chance he'd be more so a clone or inspired from Sonic instead of a straight up Echo. I'm pretty certain we'll see Shadow and/or Tails, but I'm still up in the air in terms of what type of fighter they will be.

So guys if shadow was revealed would he appear in the last direct or the second to last one?
There's only like 3.25 months until release and I think there's room for about 2 more directs with smash content. Personally I think shadow will be revealed in the last direct, I'm interested in what you guys think.

I agree with you. It seems pretty realistic to expect a main Direct (with a Smash trailer at the end, as is tradition) sometime this month, and a Smash Direct in either October or November (which Sakurai alluded to while talking about the menu in the August Direct). Now, I'm going in to this assuming that Shadow will be an Echo. Echoes are revealed in two ways: hijacking a trailer from a character from the same franchise (Dark Pit with Palutena, Lucina with Robin, Richter with Simon) or being shown in a short gameplay trailer (Daisy at E3, Chrom and Dark Samus in August). So, unless this month's (hypothetical) Nintendo Direct specifically reveals a Sonic character (which probably won't happen, since third-parties tend to be saved for Smash Directs and E3), Shadow will be saved for October/November.

That being said, this limited time window is pretty constricting for my prediction roster, haha. I've still got five newcomers and six Echoes left to go, and (assuming there's no surprises on the website between now and the game's release) only two events to have them all dumped on us, haha.

Honestly though, I don't know how long they would want wait for him. I don't really think we'er going to get another Sonic character besides Shadow, since I only think we'er getting him because hes a convenient echo. So if there is not another character for him to share a cinematic trailer with then they would probably reveal him with the same treatment as Dark Samus and Chrom. And I don't know how long thats worth saving to them

But I don't know if him being 3rd party could end up getting him more special treatment in any of these regards, despite the echo status.
