I don't understand the hate for Snake either or the people who think he won't appear. It is getting obnoxious, I hope they reveal it soon so I can rub it into people's faces.

Apparently the whole roster is supposed to be revealed in August by the same people who revealed Brawl's roster.
It is interesting to note though that they missed quite a few characters in their Brawl reveal.
So I think August is soon enough.

GameXplain has always been against snake returning...they are people (thus, dumb), so I wouldn't take anything they say as fact.

They just speculate, like us, but on a higher level because they make youtube videos showcasing their weird ass voices.

In all honesty though if you did take appearances as a sure-fire reason a character should be in Bomber-Man would most DEFINITELY make it over Mega Man.
And Snake has had multiple games on Nintendo platforms and one game that was developed by a (at the time) 2nd party studio.
I'm just saying please don't come here starting crap we have counter arguments for everything you can probably say.

Right...and Megaman is no longer indicative of what is relative.
He hasn't contributed anything to gaming as a whole, while "Snake" has.

Snake is probably ONE of the most important characters for this reason...and of all time. Dont know why you WOULDNT want that in your game because he represents so much. He is a character that CONTINUES to attribute to gaming as a whole. Whether it be on in an Nintendo system, or not. He is still an important character, and still would be a worth while asset.

Im a nintendo fan too, as are the rest of us here, but does that make our wants any less because they dont measure up to what other fans want as their ideal cross over? All we want is a character who is important to gaming, and has been in a smash bros game, its not like we are asking for kratos to show up. Snake has enough games for any nintendo fan to check out, and vice versa, i owe smash bros for bringing me back to metal gear, and its honestly one of my favorite series now.

As a hardcore Nintendo fan myself I can say that this opposition to Snake is not needed.
As I'm sure you are aware Snake has appeared in multiple games on Nintendo platforms that aren't Metal Gear games.
I believe if you count the Metal Gear and Non-Metal Gear games his total amount of appearances on Nintendo consoles is 13.
A pretty large number to say the least although some ARE just cameos.
And for the record the only reason you sounded like an A** is because you said "why you Snake fans don't get" making us sound like a bunch of ignorant 4th graders.

Welcome to Smashboards! About your argument, Mega Man hash't has his own full-fledged game since the 2000's so he's definitely not relevant. MGS' last game was on the 3DS in 2011, about 10 years later than Mega Man's last game. While Mega Man might have more games, MGS has had more recent games on Nintendo consoles, making him relevant with Nintendo. I hope you enjoy it here on SmashBoards! :D

I agree I am not implying that I know what he was stating it's just the way I took it, my outtake of the post.
And you are correct Mega Man is relevant and he is a big part of Nintendo's history with them.
Snake on the other hand may not be as noticeably associated with Nintendo but he does have a rich history.
I myself am a Mega Man fan and I still think Snake is more deserving even if it is just because he is a Veteran.
Although if you'd like to bring up an argument I'd be happy to converse with you about the subject.
Snake and Mega Man are the 2 characters I care most about so anything you say I can relate to.
Except the part about Snake not deserving to be in.

He was pretty hyped by the most of the community.
However there were the VERY outspoken Nintendo purists who really gave Snake a hard time but as soon as Sonic was announced everyone welcomed Snake.
It's weird.

I introduce to you the Ration system. Rations have appeared in Ever MGS game and is just as iconic as the Cardboard box. Rations restore your Health in MGS 1,2,4 while in MGS3/3D they took a different route and they restore your Stamina a little bit. Solid Snake likes them while Naked Snake/Big Boss thinks there "Disgusting" and "Terrible". My idea is that Snake's Down Throw should have Rations come out of the enemy's pocket occasionally like they do in the MGS games. It would be a nice callback to MGS 1,3. They would recover 10 to 15% of your health. And other players can eat the Rations too. What do you think?

I like it! Although it's already so hard to kill Snake does he need a health recovery?

Back then I recall the typical reactions to him being from the range of neutral to excited. People who were neutral on him seemed to be excited by the prospect of third parties like Sonic and Mega-Man being possible. There were denouncers sure, but I don't recall them being quite this loud about it, maybe because back then what was done was done and there was less reason for them to complain about it. However I suspect many of those who are against him today were not really around for the pre-Brawl hype and probably don't appreciate him as much because of it, seeing him as just a weird humdrum inclusion rather than a ground-breaking part of Smash history.

With respect to the argument above that Snake is not 'Nintendo' enough to be in the game, well that was sort of the point if we are to believe Sakurai's perspective. He basically says he doesn't really consider any of the third parties 'Nintendo' characters, and the only real requirement he has given is that they be have appeared at least once on a Nintendo platform - not a strict requirement. The fact that he included Snake in the first place should say a lot, and with Sonic he included many elements that are not from his Nintendo games. Realistically Sonic and Mega Man were added because they were popular requests more than anything.

Your right, and normally i dont let it get to me too bad, but man the frequency of it lately is unbearable. I just dont want these guys to think that the reason he might be gone, is the reasons they seem to champion, because even if sakurai says nothing they will still believe they were in the right.

Thats the thing, like the guy above earlier tried to say about owing dues, nobody owes anything they are guests to begin with, they dont have to perform a sacrifice to nintendo to get in this thing. Hell snake has had mario references in a number of his games on nintendo systems, i dont even think mega man can make that claim. Do you mean Corocoro? Hate to break it to you, but they didn't reveal s*** for Brawl. They said the same thing that they are saying now in December 2007, but all they did was show characters who were already revealed on the website.

Resident Evil is a great series I'm sure but Capcom already has a Representative and that's Megaman, third party companies only get one rep. That's the rule. mostly just vc, no actual retail games confirmed as of now. Hell, I doubt namco,sega and capcom have anything planned other than sonic and project cars

games in 2013:

• Pro Evolution Soccer 2014
• Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal: Gekitotsu! Duel Carnival

Nothing announced for 2014, though 3ds will probably get PES 2015.

Perhaps he could get Stun grenades or Smoke grenades.
Maybe a claymore in place of C4 or Stinger missile in place of the Nikita.
