I know I basically need to renew my NSO, then what?

Then you go into the nso app, there should be a banner at the top talking about new icons.

Hasn't affected my enjoyment too much so far though.

So apparently a lot of the FPS drops and slowdown is due to a memory leak the game has.

Yeah and apparently resetting the game fixes the heavy slowdown.

So there's some good news in that it can be patched pretty fast.

Also, memory leaks aren't just a Pokemon issue, Xeno3 had the same issue if you left the game open for a while

First Godzilla returned in 2014 then Kong returned in 2017 then we got Shin Ultraman in 2022 and now finally after 16 years. Gamera is finally making his return. Now that the 4 big faces of Kaiju are back. The Kaiju Renaissance is now finally complete!

When it comes to the kaiju genre. I consider King Kong, Godzilla, Gamera and Ultraman to be "The Big Four".

What I notably like about is how different and unique they are of their origins.

King Kong, you got a giant ape worshipped as a god by the natives from an island of a primitive bygone age.

Godzilla, a surviving prehistoric sea monster mutated by nuclear testing.

Gamera, an ancient bio-weapon created long ago by an ancient civilization.

And then Ultraman, an alien hero from another planet.

I had a memory leak when playing Monster Hunter once. A good console restart fixed it seeing how i normaly keep my switch in sleep mode and never turn it all the way off

Some things I wanted to say after playing Scarlet a few hours:

Made it to the School Town, and holy **** is it just basically a nothing place. There’s like 12 of the same food shops scattered throughout, random metal planks onto rooftops with nothing; and most NPCs don’t do or say anything.

How was this passed off as solid world design?


Anyway, the routes are fun to explore and see what will pop up, even though the random load ins are still bad. Only issue I’ve seen with this though, is the occasional NPC moving at half frames, but nothing that takes away from the experience or is long lasting.

Lastly, I haven’t found any shiny Pokémon, but I saw they make no sparkle sound when they spawn and I kinda hate That. It is nice that your Pokémon won’t kill it in auto mode though.

It just makes you really have to pay attention, even though a lot of the Pokémon are small on the map.

Starting Pokemon Scarlet and it looks gorgeous. Also, the legendary ride seems to pass out during its fast trip around the region in the intro. Anyways, getting ready to get my starter soon.

Generation 9 was the first game where I couldn't decide on which version I wanted until the leaks shown up. In the end, just one week before the game came out, I made my decision and decided to go with Violet:

Yep, Iron Valiant convinced me to get the game. Although it turned out to be a combination of Gallade and Gardevoir and not truly just "Future Gallade" like the early leaks said, the design of Iron Valiant looked so cool that I figured I need to go with Violet in the end. I can definitely see myself using Iron Valiant often.

I also figured that in the end, Ceruledge will probably be better for my story team for the sake of type balancing.

But I will say that Scarlet has a lot of good stuff in it as well: Roaring Moon is insanely cool for a Paradox Pokemon, and Armarouge and Koraidon are just about as cool as their Violet counterparts. I will probably do what I can to get an Armarouge later on.

So in the end, this will be my story team:

Sprigatito was my favorite of the basic stage Gen 9 starters when first revealed, and now Meowscarada has solidified itself as my favorite of the final evolutions of the Gen 9 starters. Even if it ended up becoming bipedal, it pulls off the cat+magician look really well. Honestly, it may just be my new favorite Grass starter just from design alone. Definitely going on my team.

It's always a tradition a Gallade will be on my story team if a Ralts is catchable during the story, so I gotta put my favorite Pokemon back on the team.

Ceruledge and Armarouge are my favorite Pokemon of this generation because of their awesome resemblance to Gallade, so Ceruledge is definitely on the team.

Tinkaton looks pretty cool for the premier Fairy-type 'mon of this generation. Good typing as well. The 75 base Attack is a bit worrying, but its signature move and access to Swords Dance will probably still make it a hard hitter. It too is on the team.

The last two Pokemon, Kilowattrel and Palafin, might be swapped with older 'mon, but for a more Paldea-focused team, these would be the two Paldean 'mon that I will probably use in the story.

Kilowattrel looks pretty cool for a seagull 'mon, with nice typing and decent special sweeping stats. The one new Flying type 'mon I want to try out the most.

Palafin's Hero Form looked weird at first when it was initially leaked, but after seeing a clearer shot of it in the last week, I've warmed up to it. The insane stat boost it gets from its Zero to Hero ability makes me eager to try it out. If I can successfully find someone who can team up with me to evolve a Finizen, then a Paladin will surely go on my team.

I might end up using some older 'mon instead of Kilowattrel and Palafin, but I'd rather try to stray away from Galar 'mon like Corviknight and Toxtricity since I already used them on my story team last generation. The older 'mon I am leaning toward using for now are Salamence and Mudsdale if it reaches that point.

Can't wait to start my adventure later today!

I have obtained Scarlet.

Decided to play the game in spanish because this game is based on spain and i grew up in a place that was heavily influenced by Spain culturally so i have a small connection to this specific Pokemon region.

I started with Sprigatito and named him Morgana.

Haven't actually caught anything else, looking to see how early i can get certain mons.
