I was always doubtful of Kalosian forms happening. Legends: Arceus worked because Hisui took place hundreds of years in the past. A few years after XY or not, Z-A is still taking place in present day).

While Scar/Vio kinda helped, the fact you need a whole different game just to evolve like, 4-5 Pokemon in 'current year' is ridiculous. If there aren't any regional variants or new Pokemon, I don't mind at all.

I kind of get why there is no variants this time, it’d be weird for Kalos to have variants in the modern day that just weren’t there in X and Y while it makes sense for those variants to be “extinct” from the Hisui region, but it is disappointing.

Pokémon Legends Arceus was one of my biggest surprise favorites of that year since I’ve fallen out of love with Pokémon for like a long time now. So I’m still mega hyped for Z-A.

I still remember how shocked everyone was when Farfetch'd and Girafarig finally got evolutions after several years (albeit, only in the case of a regional form in the former's case).

Day 24: Penny's Big Breakaway

This fun little indie game is brought to you by Sonic Mania devs! It's less 3D Sonic but more like Forgotten Land or Mario 3D World if you ask me, you can use buttons to control the yoyo but I prefered the twin stick controls, which give you a greater level of precision and motion for not just your attacks, but the tricks you can do! The game's not really about going fast but getting a big score, preferably by chaining tricks into eachother for as long as possible, it never gets old either! Not only is it neat to fling yourself off of the stage and use the aerial swing to launch yourself straight up so you can reach slightly higher areas, but it never really gets old! The stages are fun with absolutely incredible music, including tracks by Tee Lopes, one of my favourite themes is probably the penguin home world it sounds so... Festive. There's also 6 things to get in each stage, 3 collectibles which can be spent to get into special mini stages which are stupidly hard but SO satisfying to finally get the hang of, the other 3 are little sidequests which lets Penny help the citizens and the short dialogue is them is also pretty fun which makes it feel like it's own reward. The game did bug out a handful of times but I don't know if that's specific to the Switch version or not. Do check it out, it's a fairly inexpensive title too but may be what the platformer fans here would enjoy

And you SHOULD be able to since Stantler can learn Psyshield Bash as an Egg Move and Hisuian Qwilfish's evolution method works but AUGH THIS COMPANY MAKES ME WANNA

My last game was vanilla Sun and Moon.
Was kind of tempted to come back with Scarlet and Violet and Arceus, but the performance issues and being busy with other games kept me away. Hoping Switch 2 rectifies this.

If nothing else, PLA runs very well on the Switch. Like, afaik it doesn't have any of S/V's performance issues since everything in the map is pre-loaded before you go into an area, unlike S/V which is having to load stuff in real time.


I'd honestly say that PLA is 100% worth a shot, only downside being you can't get Shaymin/Darkrai without Sw/Sd and Bd/Sp save data on your Switch.

It's seriously hurt my enjoyment of the new Monster Hunter.

Uh, I guess to keep it Nintendo related, I'm close to 100%-ing both F-Zero 99 and Mario Kart 8.

In F-Zero I've managed to take 1st in all Grand Prixs (Or Grands Prix? Idk, baguette or something) with all 4 vehicles, so now it's just a game of waiting for the weekly rewards to refresh until I have them all.

In MK8 I've done everything except 200cc time trials for the Booster Course... Courses.

Man, the city tracks from Tour are a nightmare.

They're way harder to memorize than any other tracks due to the routes being different every lap, and there's hardly any worthwhile shortcuts that the ghost doesn't also take, so if you so much as graze a wall it's really hard to catch back up.
