It is less so life and moreso complex life. It requires a series of both rare and incredibly specific things to occur. These things also need to occur in a certain timeframe.

Simple life should exist in many places but complex life far less so. Intelligent life would be vanishingly rare. You also have to bear in mind that Earth is pretty old for a planet.

Aliens certainly do exist. Its impossible for there to be one planet in the whole wide universe to have life.

Intelligent life, I certainly do think exists but its very rare (We're one of those rares).

More commonly, I think most alien life is like the fauna of our earth.
