i feel like the gaming community specifically idolizes masahiro sakurai and toby fox way too much. don't get me wrong, they're both awesome and very talented guys, but a lot of people treat them more like fictional characters than real people and it feels borderline parasocial

Oh dear seems like Pokemon fans are mixed on no mandatory trainer battles

If you can go anywhere and there is no level scaling, I guess it makes sense. You can't run away from a Trainer Battle and if you run into the trainer at the wrong time, there goes half of your money.

Nuzlockes for this game are going to be very interesting...

If you can go anywhere and there is no level scaling, I guess it makes sense. You can't run away from a Trainer Battle and if you run into the trainer at the wrong time, there goes half of your money.

Nuzlockes for this game are going to be very interesting...

On the Nuzlocke thing, it could be very interesting given that it's possible to do Pacifist runs where you don't battle except for madatory requirements.

Sakurai I think people respect more for making the impossible happen as opposed to game design/philosophy. IDK could just be me remembering the Melee/Brawl wars that used to plague this site.

I have never played Undertale or the other Toby Fox games and don't have much interest in doing so either. I do like his music from what little I've heard of it though.
