why spend money on new idea when remaking old idea make money too?” - a corporate executive somewhere, probably
That's the problem with Hollywood nowadays. They're too afraid to come up with more new ideas, everything is mostly just remakes, reboots and sequels. Why I have to depend on Indie films more for originality. Why I gotta rely on novels for any natural horror isn't just sharks.

2024 truly has been the Year of Sequels, Remakes and Reboots.

Went to a comic book store on a whim today and didn't know that the first volume of the Ultraman and Avengers comic was out

Enough about the unoriginality of Hollywood, let's talk about 10/10 songs now

Here's a few songs I consider 10/10
  • The Last Firstborn - Celldweller (Still my favorite song of all time)
  • Dakota - Stereophonics
  • Ghost Love Score - Nightwish
  • I Love It - Icona Pop and Charli XCX
  • Don't Go Breaking My Heart - Elton John
  • Closer - Nine Inch Nails
  • Jason - The Midnight
  • Just Another Night - Icona Pop
  • If Today Was Your Last Day - Nickelback (Yes, I'm serious)
  • No Control - One Direction
  • Welcome to the Black Parade - My Chemical Romance
  • Crazy Crazy Nights - KISS
  • Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood - Santa Esmerelda
  • Innocence - Avril Lavigne
  • Everything I Wanted - Billie Eilish
  • Shadow of the Day - Linkin Park
  • Until the End - Breaking Benjamin
  • All I Want - Kodaline
  • Goodbye to a World - Porter Robinson (In fact all three of the last songs on Worlds count as 10s to me)
  • We Got the Power - Gorillaz
  • I Know the End - Phoebe Bridgers
  • Love Will Tear Us Apart - Joy Division
All songs I listen to VERY regularly. Not all my all-time favorite songs are here, but a good amount of them.

I still can't stop gushing how good of a read Cherokee Sabre was. Definitely up there as amongst my favorite novels I ever read! :D

Definitely looking forward to reading Terror Lake (Akhlut) and The Palaeontologist (Ghost dinosaur) at some point. Currently reading Extinction by Douglas Preston.

This acronym keeps confusing me like I think you just got into baseball.
Haha I always have that thought myself. All I really know about baseball is the delicious food and the time the Chicago Cubs won and people went nuts.

I'd love a Miraculous episode with a baseball focus in the future to reference this lil thing. Can you imagine Cat Noir using his staff as a baseball bat?

The game developers are on record as confirming that Shovel Knight's combat system, moveset (this doesn't fully apply to any of the other playable characters, who's attacks are often either fully unique or based on characters from other platformers) including Shovel Knight's downward "pogo shovel" attack, as well as the game's villages were all based on those of Zelda II.

There's heavy Mega Man influence as well), and while the game is clearly also a Metroidvania-type platformer, Zelda II itself is arguably an early example of that same genre both of it's namesakes later defined, and even without the leveling system, the direct influence from Zelda II's gameplay is absolutely there.
Oh yeah no I get that, but it's still very much a hotpot of old NES games and not Zelda II which is what I'm getting at

Jesus Of Suburbia - Green Day (probably my favorite song of all time)
Turn The Lights Off - Tally Hall
Dream Sweet In Sea Major - Miracle Musical
Sanctuary - Utada Hikaru
Billabong Valley - King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard

25 Hour Goddamn Telethon - Bomb The Music Industry!
Stellar Stellar - Hoshimachi Suisei (Both versions are great, although I think I prefer the FIRST TAKE version)
Derezzed - Daft Punk
Feel Good Inc.- Gorillaz & De La Soul
Kiss Me, Son Of God - They Might Be Giants
Accordion - MF DOOM
Dammit - blink-182

Baseball's actually one of my favorite sports.

I'm terrible at it, myself (or at least I was the last I played it; that was years ago), but the Major League scene is fun to watch.

damn someone accidentally leaked the transgender episode of Moon Girl & Devil Dinosaur…would be a shame if people found and watched the episode
damn that was an awesome ass episode to match alongside an awesome ass series…no wonder why Disney cancelled it

I'm starting to become a big fan of Minecraft ARGs, or at least retellings of them.

The stories and the build-up to them are usually fascinating, regardless of whether the story turns out to be more of a horror-oriented one or a drama and tragedy-related one. Some have even had surprisingly moving endings.

I guess these stories kind of fall under Analog Horror?

I could be wrong, but iirc they canceled that project in favor of the Emoji Movie. Which is absolutely tragic.

Wild how the Emoji Movie and Into The Spider-verse are only a year apart.
I swear I heard somewhere that that wasn’t true. But I don’t remember where.

Honestly it makes more since for the two incidents to be unrelated just based on what I know about how studios work and how long these productions can take.

It could totally be wrong, but it helps sell a narrative that an already bad movie is now a sinister villain that deprived us of a better film.

People love narratives:nifty:

I don’t know. America just elected Hitler 2: The Sequel. I don’t think people should still be giving this their energy.
