Real talk though, comedy Anime is hella hit or miss, emphasis on the miss.

That's mostly because I don't really like a lot of anime tropes so I wouldn't really enjoy a genre that takes said tropes and multiplies that by 1000x. Plus, a lot are just really ****ing weird in both concept and execution, like I don't wanna watch "I got reincarnated into a camel and my hot yandere sister wants to [insert whatever verb here] me"

Watch Gintama. The humour is extremely meta and it's stuff like this where they make fun of filler in anime.

Comedy anime is in a bit of weird spot for me since I still enjoy the genre but don't think I've ever seen one that's had me legitimately laughing outside of a grin or small chuckle every few episodes or so. A lot of the humor just doesn't land for me and feels a bit hollow.

I'll still look into Nichijou though.

I still find it to be one of the best comedies out there but just depends on what you think on absurdist humour. If you liked something as crazy as Katamari Damacy then you'll love this. Hell I consider it to be as close as possible to an anime based on it IMO.
And its KyoAni so another reason.

If anything honestly its more Isekai comedy that I've a bit of an issue with. Ever since rewatching Konosuba a while back I've noticed how a lot try way, way too hard to be funny.

I knkw some Japanese onomotopea and some words don't have a good english translation, so they gotta imrpovise at some points. That said, I feel as if it's more of what's may be funny in one culture may not be funny in another.

Yeah, Bendis really didn’t know how to handle him. It’s like Deadpool and Liefeld, Miles is better in the hands of people other than the ones that created him.

for the most part, he spent a good while treating Miles like Peter with a different skin color, rarely touching upon his heritage for some reason. Did the same with Riri (but took out any charm and respect before making her the top Iron person for a couple years) and is doing it again with Naomi (with the addition of being loved by all the heroes and becoming op).

There really ain't an inbetween: It's either the 1,000,000,000th sexual harassment joke, or actually comedy.

Watch Nichijou, the entire show is the later.

I say that cause I can feel Professor Pumpkaboo 's presence to tell people to watch it. It's pretty good but honestly had a bit of issues in terms of the genre it exactly wanted to be honestly.

At least now PSG is owned by Studio Trigger rather then Studio Gainax, which means Imaishi, the director, actually owns the copyright for the series. So maybe finally we'll get something.

Just also posting this since its a great OP. Princess Connect I find a bit similar to Millionaire Detective for thoughts (tries to be two things at once sort of deal and falters a bit) but its animation is glorious.

Here is but a taste of Nichijou, btw.

It is an experience.

Also if you like Nichijou I'd recommend getting the manga City.

Same author and hoping KyoAni does animate it when the time comes.

It's a 13 episode long mystery/crime anime animated by the same folks who animate Pokemon, and it's seriously amazing. The full series is out now, subbed and dubbed, so if ya have Crunchyroll, I seriously suggest giving it a watch. It's super underrated, legit one of my favorite animated shows.
