FF fans, what FF games do you recommend? I really enjoyed FF7 and I'm thinking of getting FF9 since I heard that's also really good, but aside from that, what else?

I have a Switch, my Laptop that can run PS3 amd X-Box 360 games well (maybe slightly more powerful than Switch depending on my performance settings), amd a PS4 which while powerful, I don't take back with me to college (not mine).

I got a couple of Christmas gift cards to spare.


Unrelated, but I was thinking if getting Kingdom Hearts All in One since that **** comes cheap.

So I was gonna do this later on in the week but its unpredictable in a way. Preparing for a job ain't fun so time to mark two game anniversaries on a personal note..

So this week marks 10 years since this amazing gem came out:

Still to this day one of the best games on the 3DS. Yeah control issues and the characters talk a bit too much but it was made by Sakurai, had some great music, a beast of a multiplayer and was pure fun all around. While we haven't gotten a sequel or a remake its still a very important game in the history of the 3DS.
Still one of my favourites.

And this week as well marks 8 years since I truly fell in love with one of my favourite video game series of all time.

Now before this game came out, I had Theatrhythm Final Fantasy on 3DS, Dissidia 012 and I played both VII and VIII on the Vita.........not to mention completing the XIII trilogy on PS3 a month before.
While I've a weird love/hate fascination with XIII-2 and Lightning Returns in a way few games have rivaled since (looking at you Octopath Traveler and Just Cause 3) Final Fantasy X blew my mind in a way few games did. Yes the hahahaha scene was weird and unskippable cutscenes are a pain in the ass but the game was amazing.
Battle system, soundtrack (A Fleeting Dream doubly so) and some of the moments of the story. Still to this day The Sending at Kilika lands perfectly in my five favourite video game moments of all time.

While I've not played it in recent years for various reasons as well as Kid Icarus Uprising's story I really owe it still to both on such a personal level.

Just a random thought tonight.

I got to rewatch The Batman and I can confidently say that it has one of the best Soundtracks of any Superhero Movie ever imo.

Honestly, a Chicago region could be fun. Make Chicago something like Castelia City and then use the general Great Plains/Midwest area to get some varied locales around it such as the Great Lakes, Mississippi River, Badlands, Black Hills, the Driftless Area, and a little of the Rocky/Appalachian Mountains. There would be a good amount of farmland, but you could probably trade some of that out for some prairies, valleys, or even some quarries for fossil digs.

Only FF game I have personal experience with is 7, which you've already played...However, I can give the KH All in One a glowing recommendation, the games are really, really fun.

Tbh, I've been wanting to get back into KH since Sora in Smash and imagine my disappointment when all the Switch got were ****ty cloud versions

To be fair, Porygon has gotten some slow returns to spotlight like being the phone, I think it’s coming back or has come back to the anime to recently.

Plus we got Porygon-Z even after all that. It’s pikachu that should be banned instead.

Played more Brilliant Diamond today. Caught some Legendaries, and I think I'll end the playthrough without catching most of the Ramanas Park legendaries. Getting those mysterious shards is a pain in the ass.

I did catch a bunch of Pokémon in the Underground though, including Bulbasaur, Cyndaquil, and Torchic. I found a Charmander but I ended up KOing it. Stupid lizard can't even take a Giga Drain.

Also I visited the Old Chateau to catch Rotom and got to relive some childhood trauma

Final Fantasy X was the first ever game that I purchased back when I got the Playstation 2. The story was so captivating and like you said the soundtrack, battle system and cutscenes is what made Final Fantasy X so special. Also, let's not also forget about the Blitzball mini-game too!
