Someone should throw that to the mods. Seems like it would do more damage than good like that way.

The biggest difference between the Social now and back then is that people actually like the state Ultimate's in + the Nintendo community in general has a lot more going on given Nintendo is actually successful and keeping a good content flow so we actually have things to talk about. We also have a bustling fangame community thanks to mods for official Smash games, Rivals of Aether, and now NASB.

Sm4sh's post-support era had...

Bayo controversies and Mario Tennis Ultra Smash.

Project M did its best to keep us alive but then got sent to the shadow realm. Smash modding went underground again for a while, probably due to most modders trying to lay low after the flagship fangame got hit.

I think SB will do just fine if Ultimate's final Balance patches leave it in good health and Nintendo stays relevant. TBH a big reason the site died during Sm4sh's era is 'cause there was nothing besides Smash to talk about, so as soon as it left and Nintendo pretty much dipped from the Wii U by then, so there was no content.

A lot of points. I think with Pokemon, Splatoon and Zelda coming up the social thread won't be that affected and I think the regulars will stick to here anyways like normal until something crazy happens.

Not many places where we can go and still be ourselves with trolls around. That's what I fear. Want to still have here buzzin like now.

Granted personally I'm now happy via Discord I can talk to a lot of you guys and hope that it goes like normal if it does get quiet on here. That server does mean a lot to me as you guys know very well.
Just annoyed I was in better circumstances IRL to not be as worried about this. That will change come January.

Proof of the friends I've made here but I've done a thank you post the other week. Might do something smaller though.

Space Stranger said this years ago. He was probably the original Social funnyman, got banned god knows how many times. Literally got the thread closed over exploding salad .gif spamming because he convinced everyone to do it. I wonder what he's up to now.

And MooMew to tag the same post twice but I did want to add a few more points.

-If it wasn't for the fact that this is a forum and all, would love to have some days where we could all just sit around and tell crazy stories about our lives and stuff.
As much as we love to talk about games or TV or movies or media in general, I always like hearing about people telling stories about their lives but of course within reason. And I will always have stories to tell to make it fun.

- You forgot to say but the general creativity community is also far more alive it seems now here. We've got artists, voice actors, writers, YouTubers and all who showcase stuff time to time. Hell if it is to get away from using SB as an anchor, we can always have a number of us to collaborate on a project,

- I think as well cause the difference between 4 and Ultimate DLC cycle was a global pandemic came out of nowhere and thus a lot of us spent more time on the forums chatting away and being a lot closer. The core 20-30 members here will remain ironclad until one leaves cause it gets too quiet or actually decides to have a social life or is dead.

As long as some people don't leave like you, Wademan94 Wademan94 Lamperouge Lamperouge Noipoi Noipoi Dyllybirdy Dyllybirdy and a few others don't leave then I'm staying here and I'll keep managing the Discord side.
