I’m considering this post a time capsule. Buried in a spoiler buffer in a thread that will Long be locked and abandoned, but that I shall save the link to all the same. My current wishlist as of this moment in time for the next smash. I encourage all of you to do the same. Not for gloating or points but for nostalgia and memories. Feel free to comment on and rate it if you want. But that’s not really the point of this.

I hope that Everyone is Back. I hope we get some sort of grand hybrid of Melee Adventure Mode and Smash Run that feels like a worthy successor to Subspace. I hope that even if Trophies don’t come back that spirits this time at least have description bios. I hope this time advances in technology allow for every non-duplicate stage to return as well. I hope Cloud, Hero, and Sephiroth finally get English dubs. I hope Cloud and Sephiroth get their Kingdom Hearts costumes. And finally, I hope for the following list of characters.

To be honest, I think Bowser's godzilla noises much better suit his Smash design than his Mario series voice would.
Though with Donkey Kong I'm inclined to agree.

So I just came back from a few things today and ended up talking to a girl I know. Was telling her about my travelling about going to a park way out there:

Me: "Yeah I cycled to that place."

Her: "What? How did you get there?"

Me: "Oh got the train and cycled."

Koichi Sugiyama, the composer for Dragon Quest, passed away on the 30th of September. He may have composed the soundtrack for most of Japan's most beloved video game series, but there's a whole mess of copyright and humanitarian issues that you should look into for yourself. And that's all I'm gonna say about that.

Hate the guy, not the composition. One of the greatest composers Japan has produced in the post war era along with Joe Hisashi, Nobuo Uematsu and Yoko Shimomura but a trash human into the non-gaming side.

I'll admit but his theme was the most perfect to start the Olympic March of Nations (but that's another bag of worms) there.

Hard to believe that Metroid Dread comes out tomorrow. I can't think of too many Metroidvanias where I played them right as they came out - even with something recent like Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night or Ori and the Will of the Wisps, I didn't pick it up until a few months later, either because the game was discounted or because I was trying to pace myself on buying games. (I can't remember which)

I'm looking forward to going into this game mostly unspoiled (the trailers have given away the return of Kraid, but beyond that, I don't know much about what happens in this game) and seeing what Samus's new adventure has to offer - despite owning a SNES and GBA, I didn't get Super Metroid or Metroid Fusion until much later (the Wii and Wii U, respectively), so this will be one of the first 2D Metroids that I play when it's new. (the only other one for me would be Metroid: Samus Returns on the 3DS)

I’d say that with Brawl, but ever since they switched to his more game accurate design, the Godzilla noises feel much less fitting

I've spent a least a few days trying to beat the Emerald Weapon in FFVII. My party for fighting it is:
Cloud level 90 with KotR and Mastered Restore.
Cid level 79 with two HP pluses
Yuffie level 79 with Mime and a mastered HP plus.
What should I do to improve? I usually get All Lucky 7s to trigger, but it's not enough to kill it.

I don't really know what to say with regards to Sugiyama. I believe he was a very awful person but at the same time I don't know if I'm a huge fan of immediately celebrating anyone's passing... just feels a little weird.

But at the same time, I'm not going to shed performative tears over a fascist dying. It's important to acknowledge who a person was, so long as you can remain a decent human being while doing so. And Sugiyama was simply not a good man. I hope he rests in peace, but I certainly can't say that I'll miss him.

As a trans person, I am well aware this is a man that would consider me subhuman and celebrate my own passing - and the passing of those like me - should he have been alerted to it. Celebrating suicide rates of LGBTQ+ individuals is something he has done before, after all.
But frankly, I'm not interested in stooping down to his level.

I bet you could start off with Mario, go through at least 50 different franchises and/or companies through almost any or all popular media methods, and then be able to reconnect it back to Mario using different connections from the ones you just made.

It's been a long time since I played FFVII but iirc, there's an underwater materia that takes away the timer. You have to transform an enemy to get it. Other than that, get another mime for Cid and create a KotR chain, make sure your materias are mastered and just level up your party more.
